On Tuesday, I got the phone call I was waiting for from Doc (or, rather, Doc's office). He wants to see me to go over this blood test - can I come in on Thursday morning? Well, okay, what time? 9:15. 9:15!! Ai yi yi! I ask about something later, but, no, he is 'squeezing' me in as it is. So - sigh - 9:15 it is. Oh, joy...
I don't get to walk out to meet Ron today, the weather is too bad. Rain, rain, rain. Ugh. He just barely made it home before time for me to go to my TOPS meeting, anyway. Doing my weigh-in, though, was a good thing - I find out that I have lost 1.2 pounds! Yay, me! I ended up being the Loser of the Week, too, which made me feel good. I haven't had that honor for quite a while.
Ron had supper going when I got home - the meeting let out early for a change - and we enjoyed it while watching TV. NCIS and NCIS:NO both were reruns, though. Bummer!
Wednesday was a Happy Homemaker Day for me. Nothing big, nothing exciting - just normal dishes and laundry and little piddly stuff getting done. Yippee Skippy.
We had a "clean out the fridge" night for supper and were glad all the little bits and pieces are gone now - even if I do have a few more dishes to do now.
I went to bed early, hoping to sleep early because I have to get up in the morning. I have to be out of the house and on the road by 8:30! Double Ugh!
I did it! I made it up, showered, dressed, and out of the house at 8:20 - I was quite proud of myself! I had asked for extra "alarm clocks" and one of my sisters came through for me, but the other one who said she would, didn't (good thing I was okay without that last "noise" to wake me up) but I guess I was more anxious than I realized. So, I got to the doctor's office in good time despite the rain.
Well, let me tell you - Doc threw me a curve ball! I thought he was pretty much just going to order more specialized blood tests, etc., and we'd go from there. But after discussing the ramifications of the blood test with me, he said that he was going to refer me to a hematologist! The hematologist could (and would) know more about the things that could be making my lymphocyte count be so high. There are many different things it could be, and he would know best how to narrow it down. He gave me the name of a doctor over by Clermont Mercy, and as soon as I got out to the car, I called to make an appointment. That fun will start on April 18th. I'll get a new patient packet in the mail to fill out and take with me. (Have I ever said I hate going to new doctors? Well, I do and this is why.)
I am bound and determined not to worry about this. At least not until after April 18th. I won't know anything until then, so there is nothing to worry about right now.
As I had to learn the hard way -- do not worry about things you have no control over. Yeah.
I can do that.

And the Easter holiday is over...

Happy Easter! Christ is risen!
Our Sunday started, as most do, with us going to church. We put on our new clothes (okay, new shirts) and off we went. The Mass of the Resurrection is a bit longer because it is a bit more joyful, thus more singing. Also, the twice-a-year people show up, so the pews have more people in them and it takes longer for the socializing part, which I like a lot better than Ron does.
This year is a little different because of Chelle's work schedule, but we can roll with it. It gives us time to get things together instead of rushing between church and "everything" happening here at the house, which is going to be nice. I had put the ham in the oven before we left, so when we got home, it was time to put together the rest of the meal, as well as getting the table covered. That Easter Bunny makes a big mess all over the table, you know!
I did everything that needed to be done, then was taking a small break when I got phone calls and texts - earlier than expected! - and had to hurry up my timing. But all was ready when Josh, Chelle, Jean, and Corgan got here. I wasn't really worried about getting a picture of Spock Child this year, and it was a good thing, because he did his usual no-reaction thing - plus he was mad because his dad had made him take off his hat and sunglasses before coming in the house. Ha! Oh, well, I did get some good pictures while all the activity was going on. Bert also got there (earlier than I thought she would) and we all got to enjoy our Easter baskets and look at each other's and see what was what and all that. After about an half hour or so of that, we cleaned off the table and set it for dinner.
I got dinner on the table - slowly, but I did it! We had ham, potato stacks, Waldorf Salad, Tomato Cucumber & Onion Salad, potato salad, and baked beans (meat, 2 hot dishes, 3 cold dishes) and I made a Ice Cream Sandwich Cake with Caramel and Chocolate Syrup(s) and cherries decorating the top -- they all said it was good.
I usually like (ask!) everyone to wear a decent shirt for our dinner. I don't care about the pants/bottoms, but for what is seen over the table, I want it to be nice. Well, it was SO hot here in the house that Ron and I had taken off our glad rags and then, when dinner hit the table, we forgot to put our good shirts back on! We were about halfway done with dinner and Bert told us, "You know, you guys suck." She hand-gestured at her (nice clothes) and then us (not-so-nice shirts, still had on our nice pants) and we got it. I groaned and put my head in my hands. "I FORGOT!! I forgot to put my good shirt back on! It's right there, on the back of my recliner!" (which is right in the living room, maybe 5 steps away...) Damn, I felt so stupid.
But, we got over it and went on with the afternoon.
After dinner was over, we cleaned the table off again and we played cards. Shanghai Rum, as a matter of fact. We haven't played that in...forever. It was a lot of fun, and Ron ended up winning. After that, they decided to leave (Chelle had worked that morning, remember), so we divvied up the leftovers and they packed up their goodies - baskets and leftovers - and hit the road.
Bert was spending the night, so she and Ron settled down to watch TV and I decided to do up some of the dishes so that tomorrow it wouldn't be such a big job. Once I got started, I found out that there wasn't really as many as it seemed, so I ended up doing them all! It was kinda nice knowing that was one thing Happy Homemaker wasn't going to have to do tomorrow.
Ron went to bed, and Bert and I stayed up watching TV for a while.
When I got up on Monday, I did my usual Happy Homemaker crap, putting all those clean dishes away and doing a load of laundry (towels). I also put some chicken in the crockpot for my and Ron's supper tonight, as well as other little piddly jobs around here.
I also got on the pute and got the Easter pictures downloaded and put up. That's a new one for me - it usually takes me a couple of days anymore....my brain is going, you know.
I got a call from my cardiologist, too. He had the results from my CBC. It seems that my white blood count is very high and I need to follow up with Doc (Dr. Ward) as soon as I can. I'll call tomorrow if they don't call me, because I already have an appointment in May. If I need to come in sooner, they need to let me know.
I do know white cells fight infection, so I may have an infection somewhere (maybe those lumps on my back that no one but me can feel?), but we shall see. I'll know more tomorrow.
Bert and I had a good visit, too, but then she had to go home to get supper and all for her mom. She had to stop at the store in Bethel on her way home, so she had to leave in time to do that.
Ron and I had our chicken along with sides left over from Easter dinner for our supper - and, boy, was it good!
I'll also know know more about the damage from Easter after my TOPS meeting tomorrow night! Keep your fingers crossed for me - I did try to be good!

Happy Easter!

Saturday, March 26, 2016
Holy Week has come and gone, and hopefully it has left its mark upon your heart. It has been a bit rough on us - Ron more than I, because of his working every day - but we have learned from it.
On Tuesday, we could not join in the Holy Week activities uptown because of my prior commitment every week. This week, I paid a small price, finding out that I had a small weight gain, thankfully only .4 of a pound, but a gain nonetheless.
On Wednesday, we chose to forgo the Holy Week activities and go to a family outing instead. It was the birthday party for my great-nephew, who is turning three. Ron did manage to get home from work in time to shower and change clothes to go, and we were only a few minutes late. However, we sat at a table by ourselves, almost totally ignored by the family, as we watched them hand out coupons to everyone else who showed up between whatever they were doing on their electronics (with volume on LOUD). Even when I spoke to my sister, she only answered me in monosyllables, so I never really had a conversation with her. When the last person showed up an hour and 15 minutes late, the gift opening and all could finally start, which was fun to watch. I took plenty of pictures, as I usually do, but me with my camera was more in people-with-cell-phones' way than anything else, I think (or was made to feel). After the cake and ice cream, Ron and I went to leave, and I said a general goodbye to the room, Ms. Late trilled at us, "Glad you could come! Thanks for coming!"
Needless to say, I'm very glad the birthday boy had a happy time, but we sure didn't. I do things for the kids - other circumstances are not their fault - but...
Thursday is known as Maundy Thursday, as well as other names, including Holy Thursday. This is the day of the Last Supper (of Jesus) - and the day He was betrayed and turned over to be crucified. It is a solemn Holy Day. Ron and I made it to Mass, only to discover that we were late! The TWO papers we had at home that stated the Mass started at 7:30 evidently were wrong...I'm so glad we were not the only ones walking in late! How embarrassing that was!
Friday is, of course, Good Friday. Not only was it a day of solemnity, it was a very busy day for me.
I went to let the vampires have at me (the CBC blood test ordered by my cardiologist), then lunch, then shopping - no big deal, right? Well, when I got to the lab, there was a sign up "Out To Lunch From 12:00 to 1:00" and I got there smack-dab at 12:30! Well, crapola! Do I sit there and wait or do I go somewhere and waste time? I decided to run to Meijer (I was in Milford, and this Meijer is further down 28) and waste time. I had planned to go to Meijer in Eastgate on my way back to Walmart anyway, so this will work. I did this, and I found myself a shirt for Easter on a clearance rack! Yay, me!
I went back and let the vampires do their thing, then went to lunch at a restaurant at the bottom of the hill - hey, I was pretty darn hungry by then! I had a cod dinner, and it was very good. I will go back to this restaurant again! Then it was back to do my grocery shopping at Walmart, and I stayed within my budget, so I was a happy camper. Easter shopping is done, and we just have to wait for it to get here! Yay, me!
I boiled the eggs that we're going to dye tomorrow and left them on the stove in the hot water as Ron and I went to church for the Good Friday services, and we went to both the Stations of the Cross and the Good Friday Liturgy. We were glad to make the Stations - we had felt bad that we hadn't made it to one during Lent, and this was our last chance.
Today we had no plans, except to color the eggs when Josh and family got up here, but we weren't expecting them until around 4. Ron was piddling around out in the garage, and I did dishes and things inside, then I realized that I didn't have anything to make for supper to feed all of us. About 1:30, I went out and talked to Ron about running over to Felicity to IGA and about lunch. So he closed down the garage and we went. We enjoyed lunch at the FeedMill, then as we were leaving to go on to IGA to get some meat for supper, Josh texted that they were leaving now - and it wasn't quite 3 yet! I texted back, "We might beat you there!" and we went on shopping. And we really did only beat them back to our house, by about 5 minutes. I hadn't even gotten everything out of the bags when they pulled in.
I got supper (roast) on while they played in the back yard, then they came in and we dyed the eggs. Then it got to be fun - we played poker! We created a monster, teaching Corgan this stuff! We played until 6, then stopped to eat supper, then played more until they had to leave because Chelle works in the morning (opens, too. Ugh.) but they will be back after she gets off work to see what the Easter Bunny has done.
So, tomorrow will be the fun of the Easter Bunny and his goodness, then our Easter Dinner and we'll probably play cards again!
Doors open, breeze blowing, wonderful Spring smells, laughing and talking - I can't wait!

Heart Doctor Appointment today...
Monday, March 21, 2016
Happy Birthday to my Ron!
Happy first full day of Spring!
I woke this morning actually feeling kinda refreshed, which is a rather new feeling for me. Usually it's more like (damn, I woke up) okay, another day is here. Blah...and the tableting and reading start. Today, I did tablet for a bit, but no reading. I got up, got a shower, got dressed and left. I had an appointment at the heart doctor today - a follow-up after 8 months - it had been only 6 months and this was the first time it was stretched out longer. I was a little apprehensive even though I've not been having any problems. This is where I first noticed my LOW blood pressure problem - when it was 100/50 - and I started paying attention to it.
So, off I go. It was way earlier than I needed to go down the road, so I had plenty of time to stop for lunch and return a T-Shirt that Ron got for his birthday for the correct size before my appointment. But, you know me! Lunch took way too long, so I had to hold off on the shopping. I totally enjoyed my lunch, though, and I splurged and went to Red Lobster. I controlled myself, though, and only had a soup and salad lunch. I had the potato bacon soup with a shrimp salad, so it was still very Red Lobster-ish. Of course, it came with those won-der-ful biscuits, too, so I overloaded on carbs, even though I didn't order a big meal. It was great!! I thoroughly savored every single bite!
But, eventually, it was over and I got back on the road, and then sat in the parking lot and played on my tablet until time to go in.
I had to fill out all the paperwork (again...), which is always so much fun (NOT).
When I got called back, the visit went fine. First, of course, was the weigh-in. I weighed too much because I just ate lunch, but it was still well within the realm of reality. My reality, anyway. My blood pressure was 90/50, but I told myself not to freak. Let them bring it up first. (Jeepers creepers, though!! And I just had lunch, and I put plenty of salt on my salad, too!)
The doctor came in and did all his listening and then had me lay back and was listening at all my pulse points (ankles, sides, etc.) and he saw the bruises on my lower legs and belly and asked me why I had bruises everywhere. I told him that I didn't know, they just show up and showed him the newest bruise on my arm. I made a remark about how happy I am when I whack myself - I actually KNOW where that bruise comes from and all three of us (me, the doctor, and the nurse) laughed about that. He kinda looked over my belly and my sides, then talked with the nurse about my meds, and he asked about my blood pressure, too, and we talked about that. He finally decided that he would rather I stayed on the Plavix (Clopidogrel) and stop taking the baby aspirin every day. I didn't need that much blood thinner every day. Yay!
He went on to say that because of the blood pressure being like it is, I could stop taking the Coreg (Carvedilol), too, since it was a preventative because of the diabetes and evidently, my body is doing a good job of preventing high blood pressure! Double yay!
He also said that I should be able to do just about anything I put my mind to. I told him that I was a little bit of a chickenshit and didn't push myself and he said, "Do things. Do whatever you want." He did order a CBC (complete blood count) just to make sure there isn't something weird going on with that bruising, but he was okay with Dr. Ward keeping an eye on my A1c. Then he said that he didn't think I needed to come back for a whole year!! How about that!!
It may have looked like I walked out to my car, but I was really doing a happy dance!
I did stop at Target and do the little bit of return and shopping that I had planned, and then I headed for home. Ron called me as I was leaving, and he was being sent home already today - how weird is that? - because the dipshit dispatcher has everything messed up and he can't find anything else for the guys to do. On a Monday! That means he'll be out there til forever tomorrow, but - oh, well. So, as a surprise for him, I drive through KFC and bring some supper home with me. He was delighted!!
Since it's Holy Week, we went uptown to the town's services. Tonight was at the Faith Chapel, and they put on a play called 'It Is Finished' and it was very well done. I'm glad we went, although I did not see anyone else from St. Mary's there. No one. I guess we were the representatives tonight. A little disappointing, but - it is what it is.
It didn't take Ron long to crash after we got back home, while I watched dead guys. And that was our big exciting evening. Much like all the others.
Tomorrow gets to be the Happy Homemaker Day of the week - yippee skippy.
Happy Birthday to my Ron!

Busy weekends are the best - right?
Thursday, March 17, 2016 -
Sunday, March 20, 2016
First of all, let me wish all of you a hearty Happy St. Patrick's Day, although it is a little late now. I hope you remembered to wear your green and you didn't get pinched!
Also - happy, happy Spring!! We've now moved into the next stage of the year, and we have all the pretty stuff going on outside to prove it (and some crazies already mowing, too!)...it's gonna be a banner year for flowers, I think.
Thursday was a Happy Homemaker Day for me. I had to get my house ready for the weekend, since we were going to have Corgan for the whole weekend and we had all sorts of plans going on every day, too. I did spend time on the pute during the evening, figuring out the budget for the week, because that was key to our plans.
Friday - ah, Friday! - my 'get out of the house day' and boy, did I ever! I had made arrangements with Bert to meet her down the road after I did errands up in Bethel, so after phone calls and my Bethel errands, I met her at our arranged spot and we went to lunch at LaRosa's. It was the first time she had ever been there! We had a nice lunch, then went on over to Eastgate to do what we needed to over there, and we both had errands over there. Then we went back to Kroger and got gasoline in both our vehicles and a small bit of shopping, and then went on to Walmart so I could do my grocery shopping and she could pick up a couple of items. I told her where to look for these items this time so her shopping wouldn't be so frustrating.
I had wanted to be home by 4, but I was off by an hour. I still had an hour to things put together for the dish I was making to take to our friends' house for supper tonight - and we ended up leaving the house only a few minutes late. We had a great time with a fantastic meal, super friends and just good fun. We even got home about an hour and a half earlier than we usually do, which was a good thing because Ron was really tired (we usually go to their house on a Saturday).
Saturday morning, Ron and Corgan got up and went up to Georgetown to get Ron's license tags renewed (happy birthday, Ron!) while I slept in - as usual. I was up when they got back, although I was still lying in bed reading. They watched a movie, then I got up and we all played games for a while, took a small break to get something to eat, then switched to playing cards (we've created a monster gambler!) until I got supper done. Then it was a small break to eat, then it was movie time for those two, while I went and layed back on the bed and played on my tablet some more. All in all, a quite refreshing day! Only down side was me cutting my finger on a knife while doing some dishes while and as cooking supper and there was a little contretemps about someone getting my bleeding self a bandaid....but we survived.
Sunday. Church and lunch. BUT - today is special, for both. Today is Palm Sunday, so the Passion is read, and that is always a bit more.
Lunch was down at Hibachi, and it is Ron's birthday dinner, and I've (we've) invited a lot of friends to share with us. Although many, many people were invited, we were pretty sure that 20-25 were going to show up, and that was the number I had told the restaurant. After church, I got notices that 3 people weren't going to be able to come (that's okay, it happens and I'm glad I got the notices). The others we were expecting showed up - except for Bert and Teresa, who are not a surprise when they have a "change of plans" - and another family was late, but did finally show up. So we ended up only being 18, but that was a great showing to us - you've got to remember that we know how our parties turn out!! We were very pleased with the result. The people who showed up were the ones that mattered, and that's ALL that mattered.
I think Ron had a very happy birthday dinner. We didn't leave there until almost 3:00, so you know we had a good time!
We stopped at Walmart on the way home, but I couldn't find what I stopped for, so I did a little more Easter shopping, then we came on home and watched TV. We watched The Passion of the Christ, too, which was totally appropriate for this Palm Sunday (and Ron stayed awake, too!), between dead guy shows and then it was Ron's bedtime and this weekend is over.
Tomorrow - happy birthday to Ron on the first full day of Spring - born in '58, turning 58!!

A couple days of accomplishment!
Tuesday, March 15, 2016 -
Wednesday, March 16, 2016
Tuesday started out as a Happy Homemaker Day as I just piddled around the house getting little things around here done. I even did the few dishes that were sitting there, using the largest pan as my sink instead of running a whole sinkful of dishwater.
A little after 5, Ron texted that he was up in Hillsboro and was going to be late, so I let him know that I would be leaving at 6 to go uptown, and would not be walking.
I did leave right on time at 6:00, so I could go do my civic duty and vote in the primary before going to the library to do my weigh-in for TOPS this week - no meeting because of voting (they take our building). I was very pleased to find out that I have lost FOUR (4) pounds since my last weigh-in two weeks ago!! Four!! <happy, happy dance>
After that, I went to Gold Star and got supper for me and Ron - I knew he was too tired to cook - and went on home.
NCIS, NCIS:NO, and dead guys rounded out the night.
Wednesday was pretty much a Happy Homemaker Day, but there were no dirty dishes. I did, however, change my bathroom over to its Spring/Summer 'outfiit' (shower curtain, rug, towels, soap dispenser) with an ivy theme - okay, the shower curtain is just green - so don't be surprised surprised if it gets cold and/or snows again.
I did jump the gun by a couple of days - I usually do this between St.Patrick's Day and the first day of Spring - but I was restless, and this filled in almost an hour. I sure don't move the way I used to!
After I got this project done, I did a load of laundry - towels and flat things (rugs, shower curtain) - so my Happy Homemaker Day wasn't totally wasted.
I also cooked our supper in the Dutch oven skillet, since I thought of it too late to put in the crockpot. When Ron texted me about quarter til 6, I was ready and walked out to meet him.
We KNEW he'd be late tonight because we had to be somewhere at 7, and that's what happened. He got home about five after 6. Since I had supper done, though, he got his shower while I dished it up. We both ate quickly and we got on the road a little after 6:30 - and we made it to church (in New Richmond) on time! Ron even managed to stay awake during the Penance Service, too, and I was proud of him for that.
We got back home and he didn't last long after that, let me tell you!! He did wake up while Criminal Minds was on long enough to tell me out was weird. (Isn't it always?)
I did have a popcorn and milk snack tonight - during Criminal Minds - and I do believe I have NO kernels stuck in my teeth. That is an accomplishment right there! The last time I had popcorn, I had a kernel stuck for about a week.....

A 'Yay, Me' weekend!!
Wednesday, March 9, 2016 -
Monday, March 14, 2016
Not a whole lot happened this week that mattered to one way or another to anyone but us.
We DID get our Ohio tax refund, which will go toward getting our mortgage caught up - not that I know for sure how the hell it got messed up. (Well, I do at the end (because they told us not to pay it while they were looking for ways to help us, but that's another story) but it wasn't that bad, they just started being assholes instead of the nice guys they pretend to be - they are a bank, after all.) I'm pretty sure it was just me figuring that it could be caught up "later," but later never comes. Never.
I have never messed our finances up so bad before, and really don't know how it happened this time - this drives me crazy when I let myself think about it. I just must strive to do better.
Friday wasn't even a normal Friday for me - no shopping, except for a trip up to Save-A-Lot for some of the 5-for-$20. meat, and they didn't have any of the hamburger that I went up there after! The hamburger was all marked down on clearance! It was very strange...
Saturday, Josh and I went out and did some shoppping for Easter. One thing I had done during the week was to 'clean up' all the gift cards I had in my purse. I spent a long time on the phone, calling to check on balances of all of them, and I discovered quite a few that had decent balances on them! Yay, me! That was what I used to finance Easter surprises, so it didn't cost me any real money, and I feel much more comfortable now about what that sneaky bunny will do.
We remembered to set the clocks ahead before we went to bed Saturday night, too (yay, me!) so we were not late getting up on Sunday morning, either.
Sunday was pretty much a normal Sunday. Church and lunch for me and Ron. We went to Campbell's Barn this week, and he got his fried chicken dinner while I had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Then we went to Kroger to do our weekly shopping on the strength of some gift cards that had balances on them. That was fantastic! Even though I have no idea where things are in Kroger (except for Ron's tonic water), it was quite an experience and I got everything on my list and stayed within my budget (the gift cards). Another yay, me!
The best thing that happened over the weekend -- when I sat down to pay the bills this weekend, I wrote the FINAL PAYMENT for Ron's truck!! Final!! Another yay, me!!
We were SO happy putting that envelope in the mailbox on Saturday, let me tell you! Not sure what happens now, but we're assuming that we'll get the title in a couple of weeks...
....and then it's Monday. Happy Homemaker Day. WhooHoo.

March marches on...

Monday, March 7, 2016
Tuesday - I have a doctor's appointment today, and lunch with Bert and Teresa afterward! It's gonna be a great day!
I wake to the alarm blaring, get up and take a shower (even shaving my legs!) and get moving.
I had a long list of stuff to talk to Doc about, and even though I left a paper that needs filled out at home on the table, my entire list got covered and it was a very productive office visit. I love getting answers to my questions!
I managed to get in a little bit of shopping at Meijer before meeting Bert and Teresa, too, and found a few things to talk to the Easter Bunny about - HA! Then came lunch.....which lasted until 5:30. I love, love, love our long lunches and talks!! I ate good, too, having only one plate, then a little later a bowl of clam chowder, then a little later, a baked potato.
Needless to say, when I weighed in at my TOPS meeting that night, I gained. Only .8 of a pound (again), but a gain. I have got to stop doing this on a Tuesday!
I had a bowl of cereal as a late-night snack while a pretty mean rainstorm carried on.
Wednesday was a long slow boring day. Then I got a phone call at 7:30 - am I on my way to the Altar Society meeting? Oh, shit!! I forgot! And I had forgotten all day to write/type up my reports for said meeting, too. Crap, crap, crap!
I quickly got uptown to the meeting, but flew by the seat of my pants on the reports, just giving oral reports. I felt so stupid....but I did make the meeting, even though late.
Thursday was another Happy Homemaker Day. Dishes. Laundry - 2 different loads. AND it snowed all day! It was raining snow when I first got up, then the snow changed three or four different times during the day, finally being big fat fluffy flakes as it got dark. Luckily, it ddi not stick to the road(s) and there were not any problems.
I totally beat Ron's ass at Wii mini-golf, too, winning all three levels handily. We did our Thursday night weigh-in on Wii Fit, also, and according to it, Ron gained again and I lost 2.2 pounds. I can handle those small gains on Tuesdays at TOPS if I have losses here at home on Thursdays.
Friday was my escape-the-house day, as usual. Josh joined me for lunch at LaRosa's, too, which was a pleasant surprise. Usually I text him too late for him to be able to join me, but today worked out - I was a happy mom! We had a nice time, and it was good talking to him one-on-one.
Then I got the little bit of shopping I had to do this week done, and I got home not long before Ron and Corgan showed up. After that, it was our normal Friday evening at home - especially since we've taught Corgan some card games.
Ron went to bed, and a few hours later, when I joined him, he woke up and he and I talked - which turned into an rip-roaring argument - and then calmed back down into a serious talk. It was way overdue, and all is good.
Ron went to work Saturday morning, but luckily got back home by 9 - which was definitely before I was up. After he took a nap, we just hung out all afternoon, waiting for Chip to come in. He is stopping here for the night on his way to training for a new job in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. After his training, he'll go back up to Niagara Falls to open a new store for this company. Guess where we're having supper? Yep, Gold Star - at Chip's request.
Chip finally got here, took a shower to refresh, then just chilled a little. We went up to Gold Star as planned and waited for other family and friends to join us. Jean came up, K.O. and his wife Beth came up, and as we were sitting there - our former neighbor Danny Brittain showed up! So we had a nice little party going on. It was a lot of fun!
Afterward, Jean and Corgan came back to the house to visit a little longer, but Chip kinda crashed so they didn't stay long. It definitely was a different Saturday!
I woke early on Sunday morning and heard Chip leave, even though I didn't answer him when he said, "See ya, guys," to us before leaving. I thought it was nice that he did that when he probably thought we were both asleep...
I was fighting nausea, and continued to fight it most of the morning. I am SO glad that I didn't puke - I HATE puking! - but, finally, my stomach settled.
After church, we decided to follow our plan from last week and go over to Roy Rogers (Roney's) for our lunch. Oh, how I had forgotten how much I love those sandwiches - which are called Lucky Rs now, not Double Rs. But, oh, they were good!! We didn't get home until close to 3:30.
Monday was a normal Happy Homemaker Day. Absolutely nothing happened, and I kinda enjoyed that.
The hits just kept on coming, though.....the IRS kept our federal refund because of my student loans. That's not good. We could have - would have - used that money to help us out of our predicament. shitshitshitshitshit
