Today, I don't feel so good. I don't know why. Just kinda blah. And cold. Cold! I should feel pretty good - after all, we get to run away this weekend! I got our little suitcase packed this morning, all the laundry I did yesterday put away, and the house straightened up. I do like to come home to a decent house. But I just don't seem to have much energy. I am playing on the pute by then, and I finally decide I just need to eat. So, I look around for some lunch, but (of course) I don't have a whole lot (which is the whole point anymore), so I finally settle on my favorite chicken salad and some walnuts. I also have an orange. Spice it up a little, right? HAHA.
After eating, I am still playing on the pute, and just still feeling blah. Still cold, too. I even put my heavy houserobe on over my nightshirt! The time goes by and soon Ron is texting me, saying he is on his way home. Wow. The day has gone by. I haven't done anything since this morning but play on the pute, and I just really don't care. It only seems that it's been just a couple of hours.
After he gets home, he turns the TV on (of course) and starts talking about supper. Ugh. I don't even want to think about it, but I guess I should think of real food instead of a salad for supper, because I am cold and probably need something in me.
We finally decide on hot dogs, which I put on. Ron makes him a salad to go with it, and when they are done, I open two string cheeses to peel over/on the hot dogs I cut up on my plate. It ended up being pretty good. I even put ketchup on my plate for dunk, which I don't usually do. I didn't use but about half of it, but it was there...
Now, I'm getting ready to watch the season premiere of Criminal Minds, and then I'm going to bed early tonight - gotta get up in the morning and walk with Lois. Then go crazy getting everything I didn't do today done.
Today gets five stars for food, as I was way under on calories. Zero stars for exercise. There was none.

GOOD NEWS.....bad news
Tuesday, September 24, 2013
Today started off wonderfully! I got up, got out and over to Milford to my doctor's appointment early. Boy, did I feel good!
Then, she told me, "Your appointment was yesterday." O M G. I have been saying and saying that my doctor appointment was on Tuesday for quite a while now. And I knew that it was the 23rd, also. I guess I should have gotten a clue when I wrote my blog last night and wrote the date, but geez. I have been looking so forward to this doctor appointment for a couple of weeks - I have been hoping to be able to quit taking one of my diabetes medicines. I have been working on getting my sugar under much better control, and I had high hopes.
The nurse did all the things nurses do, then got her little machine out and took my blood. Doc came in, and we were talking, then he checked the computer, and throws his arms up in the air, and says "6.2!!!!" Oh, I cannot tell you how happy I was to hear that! I needed to get my HbA1c number UNDER 7, and this sure exceeded my wildest dreams. So, we talked about me quitting that one med, and he agreed Why Not? and see what happens. I will need to come back in two months, not three, to keep an eye on this, but I'm okay with that.
I then met my friend and former co-worker Kathy for lunch at Cracker Barrel. It's been a couple of months since we've been able to sit and talk and talk and talk, and that's just what we did. We had a very pleasant couple of hours! I had the Momma's French Toast Breakfast with Bacon, and I enjoyed every last bite! I was even a good girl and did NOT walk through the store after we ate....believe it or not! While I was there at lunch, I got a text from Ron. He IS off on Friday!! Yay! Runaway weekend, here we come! I was sure they would wait til the very end of the day to tell him, so I was very pleased to know this good news at lunchtime.
That's two in the good news department - let's hope I get number three at my TOPS meeting tonight!
I came home, got on the pute, got my games all caught up, and just piddled around until time to go to my meeting. I did manage to get in my 'alternate' workout this afternoon, too.
Time came, and off I went, with my high hopes. Well, they were soon dashed. Phooey! I GAINED according to their scale. I don't get it. Musta been a combination of the bigger lunch than usual and the water I drank while at home (a total of four glasses). It was only a little over a pound, but, still. Damn. BUT - I also ended up as 'loser of the month' for the month of September, having lost a total of just over three pounds. How about that! I got the little kitty of all the quarters all the gainers had put in all month long. Whoo-hoo! I sure was surprised.
Home again after the meeting, tonight was the season premieres of the NCISs!! I was so ready for this season to start...seems like this summer has lasted forever, TV-wise. Oh, well.
Today gets five stars for food. I stayed under on my calorie count, and it was all good food, too. I will give the exercise three stars, because even though I did the workout, I didn't put a whole lot into it (I didn't really want to work up a sweat). Today was a very good day.

Sunday was a normal Sunday. Church, lunch, football. That's my day. I love it! Especially when my Bengals win! I had a great lunch - well, I had breakfast, Ron had lunch. We went to Country Inn in Georgetown, and I had the big Country Slammer Breakfast. Yum is all I have to say. Then football all day. I did snack on a banana and a pop cake during the afternoon. Let me tell you - if you have NOT had a pop cake (not to be confused with cake pops!), you are in for a treat! These are available at Jungle Jim's in Eastgate, just as you walk in, past all the little stores, but before the store proper - kinda by/across from the funky bathrooms. There are four different flavors, we got three (of course they were out of one...) and all are very good. I learned about these at TOPS. They are a thin bread-type of snack (like a thin thin thin rice cake) and are a very good CRUNCH for a snack, or you can use them for a sandwich - yes, they are that thin - for something different. They are really hard to describe. They are crunchy, but the inside is soft. They are thin, too, not like a rice cake. For supper, I had zapped chili and I don't remember what Ron found. I didn't fill out my myfitnesspal for the day, nor write my blog. Man, football was on and my Bengals won!
Today, I woke up around 10. 10! I couldn't believe it. Oh, well. I laid in bed and read a bit before getting up and getting started. I called up to the bank and talked to them about the email I sent on Saturday about started the paperwork for re-fi-ing the house, and she told me about a little more info I needed to get together, so I worked on that for a bit. After a while, I got tired of futzing with that, so I got up and started doing my weekend dishes, then Ron called and wanted to know if I was okay. It was 1:00 and I hadn't let him know I was up yet!! Oh, my! I had NO IDEA it was that late! Time sure flew by. I assured him that I was fine, just got lost in what I was doing and explained all that to him, which I am sure he didn't understand and most probably tuned out. He's such a goofball.
Then, since I realized what time it was, I fugured I had best eat some kind of lunch after I got done with the dishes, while I was finishing up the tedious paperwork for the bank, so that's what I did. I ate some walnuts and a banana. Nothing else appealed. Then, I got the email sent to the bank and got my games caught up on the pute. I kept thinking that I needed to get up and do some kind of exercise but never did, so, around 5, I decided to get dressed and walk down Hoover Road and wait for Ron, then ride back home with him (his truck still being at my brother's, he drove my car today), so that would get me my exercise for the day. So, I get all my stuff (drink, book, chair) together, get my gym shoes on, my iPod in and start off out the driveway about 5:35. I no sooner get past the end of our property line when there he is pulling up to the stop sign at the end of Hoover. Well, shit. So much for that plan. I turn around.
Bless Ron's heart, he asked me if I still wanted to go walking (or something), so we decided to ride our bikes down Hoover. He changed his shoes, and we went bike riding! So, I did get my exercise in today! Yay, me!
He had gotten a text from my brother saying that his truck was done - my brother gets off work a LOT earlier than Ron does! When we got back, we put the bikes away, went down and got his truck, and came back home. Yay, I don't have to take him to work to have my car tomorrow for my doctor appointment! I can live with that.
So, we're sitting here, watching TV, me on the pute, him 'not sleeping' in his recliner, when he gets up and goes piddling in the kitchen, and he walks in and puts food in front of me. He zapped me a frozen dinner for my supper! I think I'll keep him, thanks. He then made his, and we watched Bones, then turned the game on. He went to bed, and here I am, finishing up my evening.
Sunday gets four stars for food, and zero for exercise. Well, maybe ONE. I kept getting these funny cramps across the top of my foot and toes and having to get up and walk around during the game yesterday. Oh My God - did those hurt! I'm not sure if they hurt because they were cramps or because they were in such a strange place. Finally, after about the tenth time, Ron suggested I put ice on my toes - I don't know why I didn't think of it. I would have if HE would have been having the cramps - so I put ice in a baggie and put over my toes on the footrest of my recliner (on a washrag, of course). After a while, they eased up, but boy! were they ever weird. Cramp toes, then froze toes, on top of football. Weird, I tell ya.
Today gets five stars for food - I was UNDER 600 calories for the day and I'll give it five stars for exercise, too, with the little bit of walking and the bike riding! Whoo-hoo!

A hectic Saturday -- as usual
Saturday, September 21, 2013
Today was a kinda bittersweet day. While it started out okay - kinda chilly & rainy - it warmed up nicely and was very nice. We had plans for all the things that needed done (yeah, I know. Right.) I started off my day by trying to pay the bills. I thought I could pay 4 to 5 bills this week - wrong. I could pay 2. TWO. That was it. After discussing this with Ron before he went out into the garage, we finally came to the decision that, perhaps, it was time to look into re-fi-ing the house and see what can happen there. We have to do SOMEthing. While Ron and Corgan were out in the garage goofing around -- since it was rainy and stuff, the plan for Ron to take his truck to my brother's had not panned out, so they were just still here. No biggie, right? Well, then, 12:30, 1:00, he comes in - "I finally called your brother, and I'm going to take the truck on down there, and get to work on it." I swear, my mouth dropped open and my bottom jaw hit the floor. NOW??? AFTER noon? You've got to be kidding! You were supposed to do that this morning, and we were supposed to go down the road when you were finished, and be back home by 2 or so....sigh. MEN. Well, ok, I say. He says he'll call me and let me know something.
After he leaves, I do my Wii training and my Wii Body Test to get my weight for my Biggest Loser contest weigh-in. I got my flowers on my Wii for losing my 5 pounds in a month! Yay, me! If my figuring is correct, I lost just over 3 pounds since last Saturday. <<happy dance>> I guess that means I'm gonna have to keep on doing some kind of workout every stinking day.
About a half hour later, he's calling and telling me to come pick him up, bring him clean clothes to change into, and we'll go on down the road -- just like we had planned. Never mind that it's 3 or 4 hours later than it should have been. Oh, my goodness. Just like that, no big deal. I will strangle him one day.....
So, like a good little wifey-poo, I do as he wants, and go to pick him up. Of course, once at my brother's, I have to sit and visit with my brother and his wife, as well as wait for both Ron and Corgan to decide to finally get out from under the truck's hood and go change and c a n w e l e a v e n o w ?? He just doesn't get why I get so stressed about having no time to get things done - and he is the main cause! Ugh!
So, we go on over to Eastgate. We decide to go to Applebee's for lunch - we haven't been there in a zillion years, so it will be a nice change. Of course, on the way over, we had to stop at Auto Zone, too. Luckily, that is the only parts store we pass. We had very nice lunches - he had a parmesan chicken dish, and I had a napa portobello chicken dish (UNDER 550 calories! yay, me!)
When we leave Applebee's, he goes over to PepBoy's to check out their parts prices, then on to Jungle Jim's we go. We go hither and yon in the store, looking for the things we are looking for - we don't go there often enough to know where anything is - and they don't have some of them, so we pay for what we found and skedaddle.
We stop at O'Reilly's Auto Parts in Amelia on the way home, and finally get home about quarter to six. I had to text Josh and let him know we are running a bit late and won't get Corgan home til around 7:30 now. Then, all three of us start working like crazy on dessert for us to take as our donation to supper - individual apple pies. The guys peeled and cubed the apples, while I measured and cut the crusts, as well as mixed the ingredients that will mix with the apples. Luckily, we got a message that we didn't have to rush - we didn't need to get Corgan home until 8. No rush now. Whew.....a little time to breathe!
So, our little apple pies got done, we put them in a hot/cold bag in the car, and off we went! When we got down to their house, I put them in the oven (not on), just to help them stay warm in the confined space while we ate supper. We had manwich and mac&cheese for supper, then the little apple pies with ice cream for dessert. It was a little late, but HEY! better late than never, right?
Then Josh, Jean, and I played Jeopardy and Josh kicked our butts, as usual, in the first game. In the second game, Jean ended up winning, and I came in second!! Josh was the whiny butt loser. Yay, us.
Today gets four stars for food - it would be five, but supper was so late. I was under on my calories, though! Today gets four stars for exercise, too. I got a workout of Wii training in, and then all the runnng around Jungle Jim's - that's a pretty big store!

NOT the Friday I wanted today to be...
Friday, September 20, 2013
Today was supposed to be the day we left for a little weekend getaway, but Ron ended up not being able to get the time off of work - so we postponed our trip for a week. Now they are playing mind games with him, saying they 'don't know' if he'll be able to take next FR off, either. Bastards. Sometimes I wish we could just throw our hands up in the air and call it quits on everything. Just plain old run away from life. But.....we can't, and we won't, so we just bite our tongues and keep smiling and keep on keepin' on. Sigh.
Today did NOT start out well - I had a sugar low around 3 - 3:30 this morning. My sugar was down to 50. 50! I am not getting my usual signs, or I am not reading them the way I used to - I'm not sure which. I was still awake, reading, when I just thought, 'ya know, I feel kinda weird, maybe I better go check my sugar.' I wasn't sweating, I wasn't shaky, nothing like that at all. I sure did start sweating - EVERYwhere - once I started walking down the hallway, though! After checking my blood, I grabbed my jelly bean jar and went back in the bedroom so I could read while waiting for the jelly beans to do their job. I eventually went back to sleep, and slept until 11:30.
Then I got up, got dressed, went down the road - it's "Wal" day - Wal -green's,Wal -Mart, lol. I also went to Bob Evans for my lunch first of all - they still had my chicken salad! Yay!! Then Walgreen's, bank, WalMart, back to Bethel, IGA, then back home and unload everything.
I finally got on the pute and got my games caught up, and quite enjoyed the rest of the afternoon and the evening. Ron and Corgan got home around 5:30, and it was a very quiet evening at home. I made 'snausages' for supper - that is a cast iron skillet full of fried potatoes, lil smokies, and corn. One pan, lots of goodness. We call it snausages because the lil smokies (cocktail weiners) look like the dog snacks of that name....I know, we are weird.
Today gets only four stars for food - I was over on my calories for myfitnesspal, but under for TOPS. I will give today three stars for exercise because of the WalMart walk AND the IGA walk, too. So much fun. Blah. But I feel much better, having full cabinets again!

A day off, and then back at it...

Thursday, September 19, 2013
I gave myself a day off yesterday, exercise-wise. On purpose. It was kind of a strange day, anyway, and I will explain. I did go to myfitnesspal and keep record of what I ate, but my pute decided to play games and wouldn't load anything last night (after dark, basically), so I didn't get to write anything for you guys to tell you about my weird day, so, here goes:
It all started -- well, a couple of weeks ago, when Corgan (my grandson) brought a paper with him for me (ME!) to fill out to come to Grandparent's Day for breakfast. Why they had it so long after the real G-p's Day, I don't know, but there it was. I filled out the paper, sent it back with him, and promptly forgot about it. I got a text from his mom (my daughter-in-law) on Tuesday afternoon "Corgan says remind you to come down to spend the night tonight to go to breakfast with him in the morning." Well. Luckily, Ron got home from work BEFORE I went to my TOPS meeting, and I could talk to him and remind him and all that, and then I through some clothes, all my meds, etc., into a bag and went to Ripley after my meeting. Fun, fun.
I didn't sleep well - surprise, right - because I am not used to their house-settling-down noises, but I did better than I expected. 7:00 certainly came quicker than I expected it to! So, off to breakfast I went. Now, anyone who knows me, knows that I do NOT eat breakfast. My stomach does like anything entering it for a couple hours after I get up. If I do eat something, it sits there like a rock. I didn't expect any different this morning.
We got to this breakfast, and - believe it or not - when I SAW this breakfast, I almost puked. And I HATE to puke! I thought it was a corn dog (I even asked Corgan if that was what it was and he giggled at me), but it was a sausage link wrapped with a pancake on a stick. It looked and smelled sickening, but all the kids all around me loved them! Ugh. I HAD to finish eating it, too. How could I not? How could I explain that to Corgan? There was also a choice of fruit (watermelon, banana, or a fruit cup) and I chose a banana. I also had a school-size orange juice and a chocolate milk (regular milk was 1% <shudder>). After eating, I walked to Corgan's room with him, saw his locker, his desk, and his artwork on the hall wall, then I left. As SOON as I got into the car, I dug the Tums out of my purse, hoping they would do their job by the time I got home, which is about half an hour. My hopes were in vain.
I was so miserable when I got home, I went straight back to bed. I laid there and read a bit, then went to sleep and slept for about three hours. When I got up, I felt better, but still not great. I got on the pute and got my games caught up. I knew I had to eat some lunch, even though I didn't really want to, so I scrounged around the kitchen looking for something. Finally, I settled on a serving of walnuts and took my time, chewing each one slowly and thoroughly. I did feel better after eating them, which was great, but by then, I had decided that this was going to be a no-exercise day. I did get off the pute and just sat in my recliner and read a little.
Around six, I decided that I had best have some "real" food for supper, not just a salad, so went looking for something to make. I finally made a box of macaroni & cheese, and cubed up a can of Spam to put in it, along with a can of mushrooms, for a quasi-casserole (it was still in the saucepan). It was pretty tasty, if I say so myself.
I got back on the pute, but it was playing its silly games, so I went to bed before 10. I did read for a while, turning the light off around 12:30.
Today, I got up and went up to meet Lois to walk the Bethel Walk Path at 9. I drank a glass of orange juice before leaving. We made the walk in thirty-three minutes! Thirty-three! How about that! We keep this up, we're gonna have to start going around twice...
When I got back home, I got on the pute, and hallelujah!, it behaved, so I got my games all caught up. I ate my lunch around 1:30. I had my favorite chicken salad and two servings of walnuts. Then I pretty much just played on the pute all afternoon. When Ron got home at quarter til 7, he just washed up, changed his shirt and we went over to the FeedMill in Felicity for supper. He got the pork tenderloin dinner and I got the "cold plate." That is a scoop of chicken salad and a scoop of tuna salad on a bed of lettuce. For the third option (supposed to be cottage cheese, which I don't like) I chose a fruit cup. I'm trying to work the fruit in there - it's a lot harder than it seems!
We got back home in time for kickoff of Thursday Night Football (home of the most idiotic announcers in the universe) and he promptly sat in his recliner and started watching TV through his eyelids, and I got back on the pute, as usual.
When I put my food for the day on myfitnesspal, I was over 400 calories short for the day! How cool is that!? I can sure use more days like that.
Needless to say, yesterday gets --oh, three stars for food (I was under on calories, but ... yuck for the start of the day) and zero for exercise. Today gets five stars for food AND exercise - walking the mile and a quarter in thirty-three minutes - whoohoo!

V is for V I C T O R Y oh, yes, it is!!!
Tuesday, September 17, 2013
Today was a mostly a most excellent day. It ended most excellently, anyway.
It started, as usual, when I got up, thinking I had a doctor appointment and had to shower and get dressed and skedaddle on down the road. I showered, got dressed, and was ready to go when I glanced at the calendar - and noticed that my appointment is the 23rd - which I knew - and that the 23rd is NEXT Tuesday! Well. Now I am up, showered, dressed, and nowhere to go. Phooey. so, I played on the pute until noon, then ate my lunch - I zapped the leftover 7-can soup for my lunch - then went down the road to pick up my prescription that I am now out of.
I get to Walgreen's. "We have no prescription for you. We are still waiting for the doctor to call in a refill order." Oh. Well, I argue, why, then, did I get a phone call on Saturday afternoon saying my prescription is now ready? They don't know. I ask them to please take me (us) off whatever list so we will quit getting those annoying phone calls about refills. We can tell when our pill bottles are empty, thanks. So she did. She did get me an "emergency supply" to hold me over until this refill is called in. But, damn. I called it in last Friday and they've been trying to get ahold of the doctor ever since! This is the heart doctor, too. I did not get home from all the errands (you know me and my running around) until too late to contact them today, so I will call them tomorrow and find out just what the hold-up is. If they want me to take this damn medicine, they best be getting me the refills!
My friend had called me while I was out and asked me to stop at her house on my way home. I did, and she gave me a box of tomatoes, apples, and over-ripe bananas (which I put in the freezer first thing when I finally got home!). How cool is that? I am gonna make apple pie over the weekend!
I stopped at the bank when I got back to Bethel. After the fiasco with Duke Energy last month, I was not able to pay our overdraft (along with the credit cards) account, and when we needed to pull from it yesterday, "the system" wouldn't do it and instead CHARGED us InSufficient Fees. Twice! So, I went in for the personal touch (works most every time, here in our small town) and told my sad little story. They reversed out the ISFs and she even is trying to get the last couple months' of late fees off of our credit card! Wow - I didn't expect that! Then, she even went a step further and asked 'how many points has your credit card earned?' and I had no idea, since we don't use it all that often. She checked into that, to see if that could be converted to cash (deposited in checking account) to help out, and she found almost a hundred dollars there! Bless her heart!! Nothing like knowing your bankers by name, huh?? V for Victory, right?
After I got home and got the car unloaded (bananas right into the freezer!), I got back on the pute and got my games caught up for the afternoon. Then I did my Wii training at 5:00. A little late, but I still got it in today.
Then I went to my TOPS meeting. Remember, I lost 4 pounds on Saturday when I weighed in for my Biggest Loser contest......will it hold for the Tuesday weigh-in?? Please, please, please..... YES!!!! I lost almost 5 1/2 pounds since last Tuesday!! Cha-ching!! 5.4 to be exact. Wow, oh wow. <<happy dance, happy dance>> Now it is V for V I C T O R Y day.
To top it all off, I got to drive to Ripley after the meeting to spend the night at my son's to go to school with my grandson in the morning for Grandparent's Day. Beats getting up at 5:30 or 6 to be down here by 7, that's for sure! I drove thru Wendy's for my supper, since I knew I had Wendy's food listed on myfitnesspal and could keep everything up-to-date.
Today gets five stars for food (I stayed way under my calories!) and four stars for exercise.

A Grrrrreat start to the week
Monday, September 16, 2013
What a Monday! I woke up at 10:30 this morning. I suppose I must have slept good, to get up that early and not want to go back to sleep again. I did lay in bed and read a bit before getting up and starting my day, but a day starting by reading some is a good day, anyway.
After I got up, I got all my weekend dishes done - and that was quite a chore, let me tell you. All those little salad bowls (I like to present a pretty table, not a bunch of bags & stuff, so all the veggies were each in their own bowl), as well as the plates and bowls we ate out of. Pans I cooked in on FR and SU, too. Man! I also got my treasurer job work (for the Altar Society at church) caught up, too. When I finally got the treasurer's box and took over the job the beginning of September, there was NOT A SINGLE NUMBER written in the total column of the checkbook. I had to get the church accountant to get me the last few bank statements for that account, and reconcile the checkbook, so I knew what my starting balance was, and now I can go on...that was a fun job, whew.
Then, finally, I could get on the pute and get my games caught up! For lunch, I had a can of my favorite chicken salad and 2 servings of walnuts. Then I got a workout routine in, then back to on the pute. At 5, I got supper started - and I must say I had a brilliant idea. I was cold all day today, so I put on a 7-can soup. This is a basic soup, which you can use a few different variants in (and I did), and let it cook on low all afternoon - well, a couple of hours - til suppertime. The basic recipe calls for: 1) a can of chicken breast chunks 2) a can of chicken & rice soup 3) a can of chicken broth 4) a can of Rotel 5) a can of ranch style beans and 6) & 7) vegetables. Today, I used 1, 2, 3, 5. For 4, I used a can of diced tomatoes and for 6 & 7, I used peas and mushrooms. I also had garlic bread in the freezer and cooked that to go with the soup (I won't tell you that when I pre-heated the oven, I FORGOT (thanks to my stupid pills, of course) that I had put my clean pans in the oven over the weekend to get them out of the way), so we had something tasty to sop up the soup juice, too, not just bread and butter. lol
Then, best of all, my Bengals were on Monday Night Football!!! MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!! THE CINCINNATI BENGALS!! Can you believe it!!?? It was not pretty, but we won, too!! Yay, us!!
Today gets five stars for food (it would ten if it could - I was almost 200 calories under today!) and four stars for exercise!!

Most definitely a different weekend than most (except Sunday, of course)...

Sunday, September 15, 2013
First of all, let me apologize for ignoring you all this entire weekend. I did not realize that I had; I had one of those nagging senses that I had forgotten to do something, but could not put my mind on/into WHAT didn't I do? Evidently, it was do my myfitnesspal and write my blog each evening! But, let me tell you - I slept so well this last two nights, I am not going to let myself worry about missing them! I was exhausted when I got to bed these last two evenings, and will be again tonight, too, even though today is more back to a normal day for me.
Friday, as you know (if you've been paying any kind of attention to what I write), I got to go be slave to a yard sale. If you've ever done this, you know how boring and hard (but kinda fun) this is. I did have my sister with me for company - even though we mostly just sat side-by-side, each reading her own book, when there weren't customers around. We did get up and move things around as things got sold, but ...
I was so glad to be able to DO something for a change! It was a quite different day than sitting all day playing on my pute, that's for sure. I didn't really eat any lunch. Linda bought snacks for us, and I ate a bit (maybe a cup's worth, total (honest Injun!) of kernel-less buttered popcorn and some celery sticks. Jean got Chex Mix, and had both celery and carrot sticks. When I left there, after Linda got home from work, I got to run all the errands we usually run on Saturdays, because I was going back over "tomorrow" to hang with Linda and help out while Ron and Corgan were mowing. So it took me probably close to three hours to "drive home." I barely made it home before Ron pulled in with Corgan. I made a big pot of chili for supper, thinking whatever was left, Ron and I would have Sunday during football. Ha! First pot of chili of the year? Wasn't any left. Oh, my. So much for getting two meals out of it. I ended up going to bed around 10:30 that night, seeing that I was dozing off sitting at the pute.
Saturday, the guys got me up at 8:30. 8:30! Ugh. They left to go mow around 9, and I finally got out of bed (I was lying there, reading - finishing up the book I was reading "yesterday") and did my weigh-in for the weekend. I lost 4.2 pounds! Yay, me! I hope my news is as good on Tuesday at my TOPS meeting! I got on the pute, got my games caught up, then left to go on over to Linda's, getting there 10:30ish. When I pulled in, there were three cars in the driveway, and five or six people looking around. Wow! Big difference between FR and SA. On FR, the most cars was two at a time, and maybe three or four people, but never for any length of time. It got to be later, and I asked Linda what time it was, she checked her cell, and said 1. I said "Well, Ron should be getting done mowing then. I figured he'd get done around 1 and come over and then we'll leave and go to lunch." We laughed. Not five minutes later, he pulled in! Damn, am I good or what! LOL He and Corgan stood around and talked and visited with Linda (he is her cousin!) for a bit. Then I said, "I thought, since we were this far down, we'd go to KFC for lunch." Ron's eyes widened and Corgan says, "GRANNY!! Why'd you say that?" and we all laughed our asses off. Eventually, we did leave and went to KFC for lunch. We got an eight-piece family meal with mashed potatoes, green beans, and biscuits for sides. I ate a breast, a thigh, and a drumstick. About a cup's worth of both mashed potatoes (no gravy, used three butters) and green beans. No biscuits. We came home, we went for a bike ride down Hoover Road - with the guys going all the way to the end, me going to a little way past the farmhouse. There was a big patch of shade that I used to turn around in, so I would say I went a full 3/4 of a mile, if not a little more, before turning around and heading back. I was proud of myself! Then the guys went fishing and I played on the pute, catching my games up (before getting supper started) before the rest of the family got there to pick Corgan up. Then I made little pizza biscuits (open a biscuit out flat-ish, lay a pepporoni, put two Colby Jack cheese squares on it, put two pepperonis, fold the biscuit up over all, lay on cookie sheet seam down) for the main course. It's a little time consuming, making forty of these, but they are pretty darn good. Corgan also decided he wanted only cheese ones, no pepperoni, so I made him four with only cheese squares (six) in them. They ended up rectangle, so they were easy to tell apart from the others. They were there by then (yes, I guess I played too long on the pute...sigh) and they all sat and watched me make the pizza biscuits. They helped me cut up veggies for our salads, though, while the biscuits were baking. I didn't burn them this time, either! I baked them for 8 minutes, then I turned the oven off, then cracked the door, so they were still IN the oven, but it was cooling. The bottoms were just brown, but the tops weren't which is why I left them in there. Luckily, they came out (dare I say it?) PERFECT. So, supper was a big ol' salad and pizza biscuits. They left, and I went to bed soon after.
Today, we got up and went to church (as usual). After church, we went out for a bite to eat (as usual). We went up to Georgetown (Country Inn) and I got their Country Slammer breakfast, which is two strips of bacon, two sausage patties, potatoes (home fries or hash browns (cubes)), two eggs, and two pancakes (which I replace with toast). A nice breakfast. Enough to last until supper! Got home just after kickoff (as usual). Back to "normal"!!!!!! Yay!! We had whatever was left of salad for supper. I put a can of chicken salad on mine; Ron put tuna on his. I ate a banana for dessert. It's been way too long since I had some fruit!
There you go. That's been my weekend. It's been very, very different with some normalcy thrown in. Early to bed, early to rise, good sleeping (well, kinda, there is always the gotta-go-pee going on), exercise, good eating, TASTY eating, and family time. Not much to complain about, that's for sure. Except the getting up early. I will always complain about that!
And, believe it or not, I am just about ready to give it up on tonight's football game. It is 10 pm, and they have already been on a rain (lightning) delay for an hour, and haven't started back up yet. They are still in the first quarter, too. If I didn't have to start the dryer one more time on this load of towels, I would. But I don't want my towels to get that moldy/mildewy smell to them, so I've got to make sure they get dry before giving it up for the night! Okay, players just came back out on the field, so maybe it won't be so bad now....maybe. Unless it lightnings again. They ARE in Seattle.
Even though I didn't record the weekend on myfitnesspal, the whole weekend gets five stars for food, and Friday gets three stars for exercise. Saturday gets five stars for exercise! Sunday shouldn't get any, day wasted away watching football as it does, although I do get up a lot, between potty breaks, refilling my drink, making supper, getting on pute during halftimes (when all occur at the same time (late games) which does happen), and other ventures, like Ron calling me outside (ugh).

Strange eating day...
Thursday, September 12, 2013
Today was a kinda weird day. After I got up at noon, I wasn't really hungry. I had to leave at 2:30 to go over to Ron's cousin to help her set up the yard sale I will be watching for her while she is at work tomorrow, so I had to get all my computering done by 1:45, so I had time for showering and lunch and and and...you know how that goes. Of course, my computering takes too long, and I didn't get lunch before I left, so I decided to drive through Wendy's for my lunch. I haven't been there in forever. I got the double combo. I was going to get chili for the side, but thought I couldn't eat that (very cleanly) while driving, so ended up getting the fries, along with my tea. I usually only drink one (large decaf) tea every day that I make at home (and then start on water), and only drink regular when we go out. But since I was going out this afternoon, I went ahead and got me another tea. I had my decaf for backup, for refilling. I had also brought a banana with me but since I stopped for food right there in Bethel, I kept it to eat on the way home.
I left there about 6:15, stopped for gasoline, and headed home. I ate the banana on the way. Once I got home, I ate a serving of walnuts, like what I usually have with my lunch. I wasn't really hungry for any kind of supper. Then I settled in to watch the football game. FOOTBALL! At 11, I checked my sugar, and it was 91, so I thought I best eat something or I'd be sure to have a low overnight, and I don't like those. So I scrounged out in the kitchen for a snack and finally decided on a bowl of cereal. I read the box and used my measuring cups to have a 'real' serving of cereal for my snack, so no low tonight (I hope). I had 3/4 cup of cereal and 1/2 cup milk. I was kinda proud of myself - considering what kind of cereal bowl I used to have!!
So, in the end, I was pretty close to my calorie count for the day, but I didn't really eat anything. I got very little exercise - some walking around, lifting tables, boxes, things like that. More than sitting at the pute, but not like walking or biking. LOL Not sure how I'll do tomorrow, probably a lot of getting in and out of my chair and walking back and forth, helping yard sale customers. Maybe Ron, Corgan and I can also go for a bike ride after we all get back home.
Today only gets three stars for food, and a one for exercise.

Good food day!
Wednesday, September 11, 2013
Today was a good food day! It didn't have much else going for it, but I didn't eat a whole hell of a lot, so it all works out in the end, I suppose.
First of all, I couldn't get to sleep last night. Big surprise, right. I MADE myself turn off the light at 4. Yes, 4 am - Ron's alarm was already going off, but luckily, I was asleep before he actually got out of bed. So I am guessing that it really didn't take me long once I turned out the light, but I sure didn't feel very sleepy. Then, I started getting muscle cramps/charley horses. O M G, do those hurt! Shot straight up out of bed the first time. Could barely get my left foot onto the floor to be able to walk it off. Not long after that, it started in my right leg. That one never did really subside, and kept nagging and nagging. Ugh. I ended up getting up at 10:30. TEN thirty! Just barely six hours of sleep. No wonder it's only midnight and here I am, dragging ass.
When I got up, my right leg, right calf, just below the knee, still aches. It never did go away all day. Strange feeling. Then, I also found a small rash on the inside of my left leg down by my ankle. Kinda big spot - about as big as a half dollar or so. Doesn't itch or anything, just looks like a rash. I cleaned it with hot water, then put ointment on it. Checked my right leg out of curiosity, and -yep, small spot about nickel-sized there. Great. Cleaned that and put ointment there, too.
I wanted to do my 'new' exercise routine today - I was going to do it M, W, F - but my leg ached so bad from the cramps, there was no way. I will do them as soon as I get up tomorrow. No excuses. Gotta do this!! Gotta work through the pain! Yeah, yeah.
I finally ate my lunch around 1:30. I had my favorite chicken salad, sprinkled with chia seeds, walnuts, and a banana. When Ron got home, we decided to go up to Gold Star Chili for supper, instead of a salad. We'll be good tomorrow. So, supper was a 5-way and a cheese coney.
That said, I am still under my calories for the day! My leg still aches, but I will take leg cramp pills and go to bed and hope for the best.
Today gets five stars for food, and zero for exercise.

A little discouraged
Tuesday, September 10, 2013
Today started off excellently! I got up and met Lois up at the Bethel Walk Path and we walked the path in just over half an hour. 33 minutes, to be exact. I was so proud. It used to take me around 45 minutes, at the very least.
After the walk, I had to go down to both Walgreen's and WalMart, so I got my WalMart Walk in today, also. I treated myself to lunch at Bob Evans while I was out. It's been a while since I had done that. I had fully expected that my wonderful Chicken Salad Plate had gone bye-bye on Labor Day, but they still had it! Yay! I was pleased! I enjoyed every bite, let me tell you. I was just a bit bad, spreading strawberry jelly on my first slice of banana nut bread. It was good, too!
After getting home and getting the car unloaded, and then getting the perishables put away, I finally got on the computer and got my games caught up. I played on the computer all afternoon - I even went on myfitnesspal.com and made a NEW exercise. The WalMart Walk. Yes, I did. I said it took an hour, and burned 100 calories. LOL Why not, right?
Then, it was time to go to my TOPS meeting - and Ron wasn't even home from work yet! He did pull in as I was plugging my phone in to charge as I was driving uptown, so I am glad he is home. I got to speak to him for a minute or two before leaving. Told him what was for supper (salad) and when to make it (8, as usual) if he's not asleep, and off I went. I felt good. I knew I had eaten like a pig over Labor Day weekend, but last Tuesday, I had still lost almost half a pound, and I had really ramped up my exercise and stuff this week. I got there, and weighed in. I GAINED almost a pound! Not quite, which was good, but, boy, did that ruin my day. I couldn't believe it! I was sure I had worked off what last weekend had caused, but I guess not. Phooey!
After I got home from my meeting, Ron did have our salads done, so I got back on the computer and watched TV, and ate my supper, with a banana for dessert. And now, here it is, 2 am already. I think I should probably go to bed.
Today gets five stars for both food and exercise. I was under on my calories and got plenty of exercise for a change! Whoo!

A I-got-off-my-ass day!
Sunday, September 8, 2013
Monday, September 9, 2013
I did not write about Sunday. I gave myself the day off for Opening Day for football. Well, that really was Thursday night, but this was the first Sunday of football season, which means there was football all day long, and I didn't really get on the computer til way late in the evening. Then, I was so busy catching everything else up, I didn't feel like listing my food or blogging. So, I skipped it. Sundays are for rest, right?
I ate pretty good for a Sunday. I had a chicken wrap and french fries for lunch. We had gone to lunch at Campbell's Barn for a fundraiser for church, and I tried to make a good choice. But, fries! It's been a while... Then, for supper, we had spencer steaks, ramen noodles (choice of shrimp or oriental flavors), and corn on the cob. I had two steaks, two corn, and about 1/2 cup of noodles (I don't really like them all that much). Of course, the corn was covered with butter. Notice I said covered, not slathered. B-I-G difference, and it used to be slathered. I did not take my diabetes pills when I went to bed, finally, after the late game, and I felt fine when I turned the light off around 2. NO sugar low! Yay <happy dance>!!
I got up today around 11:30. I started an exercise routine - one which I am hoping to do at least every other day, if not every day. I did 25 jumping jacks without jumping - I just stepped to the side - trust me, you don't want me to jump. We do not need an earthquake here in SW Ohio. I also did 25 reps each of sitting toe touches, squats, and leg lifts (with the help of a chair, of course). Then I got on the computer and got all my games caught up. Finally, around 2 - 2:30, I figured I had best eat some lunch, so I went searching. I decided on a can of chicken noodle soup, and that was my lunch. I really wasn't hungry, but sure don't like them sugar lows.
After lunch, I played on the computer until Ron got home, then we went for a bike ride before football came on for the night. We got back and made our salads (he brought chicken strips home from his lunch and we cut those up for the meat for our salads) and missed the most exciting 90 seconds of the whole game. sigh Yes, the first 90 seconds were more exciting than the whole rest of the game. I was so ready for the second game to start, let me tell you!
Today gets five stars for both food and exercise - I stayed UNDER 1,000 calories on the day (myfitnesspal was not pleased - they kinda told me that I need to watch that I was getting the nutrition I needed) and exercised twice, to boot! Also planning to walk in the morning with Lois, since I have other things working for Thursday and Friday mornings, and she has other things working for Wednesday morning. We don't want to lose our initiative.

Lazy Saturday
Saturday, September 7, 2013
Today was the quintessential lazy weekend day for me. Of course, it was pretty much like every other day of my life, but it was Saturday and we did NOT run up and down 125 like mad bastards, so I consider it a lazy day. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.
Ron and Corgan worked outside in the garage all day. I slept til 11:30, got up, played on the computer, made lunch at 1:30 (we had Manwich), told Corgan about the Harry Potter movie marathon that was on this weekend on ABC Family Channel and that was that. He didn't go back outside any more! Ron went to church tonight, since we will have Corgan again tonight and we both can't go in the morning.
Around 8, we decided what to have for supper, and Ron went to make it (he likes his macaroni and cheese better than mine), so we had our hot dogs and mac&cheese while watching Harry Potter movies (still...). Of course, this whole time, I have been playing on the computer, also.
I have finally made Corgan go to bed - it's 2 am, and the last Harry Potter movie just went off. They will start back up in the morning. He is insisting that he "isn't even tired" but I am making him go to bed anyway. He finally says, "OK, Granny, but I probably won't go to sleep for a while." I am betting he will be asleep before I get in to MY bed. I'll let you know tomorrow.
I stayed under on my calories today, but, once again, got no exercise. We were supposed to go ride our bikes, but once Corgan got onto the HP movies..... lol.
Today gets four stars for food and zero for exercise.

Little different eating today...I just wasn't hungry
Friday, September 6, 2013
Today started off weird again. I had a sugar low around 3:30 this morning. 76. Not as horrible as it has been, and I woke up knowing what was happening this time. Definitely not as strange as yesterday morning. I wish I could figure out what - or why - these are happening, and end them. I didn't even take one of my pills when I went to bed last night because of the happenings of the night before. This is getting worrisome.
After I got back to sleep - after 12 jelly beans and reading a bit - I slept until 11:30. I got up, played on the computer, and then went uptown to get some running done today, rather than wait until tomorrow. After all, I won't have my car tomorrow. My car is going to "Amishville" - Holmes County and thereabouts in mid-Ohio - without me this weekend (my son and daughter-in-law took it for their anniversary get-away). I had not eaten any lunch, as I was just plain ol' not hungry, although I did make myself eat a banana on the way uptown, just because it had been 10 hours since I had had a sugar low and didn't want one to happen while I was uptown. But I was just not hungry at all. Just. not. hungry. I went to the library after all my running was done and played on the computer up there for a bit - for some reason, my computer at home won't load one of the games I need to play to get one of my badges this week on Pogo. After leaving the library, I had a hankering for an ice cream cone, so I went to the Dairy Isle and got me a peanut butter dipped cone - a small one, thank you. Ron and I usually get mediums, so this was a concession for me - a minor victory, if you will. So, I guess technically, my lunch was a banana and an ice cream cone. Oh, yeah, I'm doing good today! <<yes, tongue firmly in cheek>>
After Ron got home and showered, and Josh and Michelle came and took my car, we, along with my sister Jean and Corgan, went down to the floating restaurant on the river for our supper. We hadn't been there in a while, and we won't have too many more nice days to be able to go. Once we got there, it ended up being a bit chillier than we expected, there on the river, but it wasn't terrible. I was extremely glad I keep a sweater in all our vehicles! My legs still got cold because I had on capris, but I survived. I had a BLT sandwich and ordered potato skins for my side, as opposed to fries. I guess I finally got hungry. LOL
Jean went on home to enjoy her time home alone (whee! doesn't happen often for her!) and Ron, Corgan and I came back here and I got back on the computer and they watched TV. That's when I ate my second banana of the day, not long after we returned. I am going to check my blood (sugar) and then go to bed. I think I will take my meter and a nut bar in to bed with me, just in case. This getting up in the middle of the night, tromping out to the living room, checking blood, blah, blah, blah crap is getting old. Maybe if I'm prepared, nothing will happen. Wouldn't that be a kick?
Today gets three stars for food, and one (I did do a lot of in-and-out of the car and through parking lots and stuff like that) for exercise.

FOOTBALL. All is right in my world. Mostly.
Thursday, September 5, 2013
Today did not start off very well. I had a bad sugar low at 6 am. I woke up kinda disoriented, wondering what in the hell woke me up. I went to the bathroom, came back to bed, but something wasn't right. It finally dawned on me - better check my blood - so I came out to the living room and did so. It was 51. 51! Not good at all. Really on the edge of kinda disastrous...so I got my jelly beans, went back to bed and read for a bit while popping jelly beans. After a few minutes, I turned the light off and went back to sleep.
On Thursdays, I walk the Bethel Walk Path with Lois, so when the alarm went off, I hit snooze and dozed again. When it went off again, I sat up to get up (glasses on, and start the pill-taking routine), but I was so weak, I knew that there was NO WAY that I was going to be able to walk this morning. Bummer! So, I came out here, got the phone and called Lois and let her know that it just wasn't going to happen today, that I was just still too weak. Then I went back to bed and slept til noon.
When I got up, I felt fine. I usually do, it just takes a little bit of time for the 'wringed-out washrag' feeling/weakness to go away. But, this morning, I slept it away, and so all is good. Hooray.
Then I played on the computer for a couple of hours, catching up my games. For my lunch, I had the rest of the green beans from the other day. I thought Ron had finished the pan of them for supper the other night, but after he had gone to bed, I had discovered that there was still some left. So, I put them back in the fridge. Now I know for sure they are all gone! I had those and a banana. Then back on the computer between doing a couple loads of laundry. Our dryer is not working properly - we think the element is going out - it takes four go-rounds to dry a load of stuff (today, it was towels).
So, in the end, I got no exercise at all today. I just didn't make myself get up and do anything.
Ron got home at quarter til five (how about that) and we decided on frozen entrees for our supper. While he was checking out my car - Josh and Michelle are taking it tomorrow for their anniversary run-away - and taking his shower, I got our meals nuked and my tomatoes cut up. Since he did not need to wash work clothes, I went ahead and put a load of jeans in, once the towels were dry. They are still in the dryer, but this go-round should be the last one. If not, I will be up because my FOOTBALL started tonight, and was lightning delayed by almost an hour. Good thing I don't have to get up in the morning anymore!
FOOTBALL!!!! I AM HAPPY. MY SUNDAYS ARE TAKEN, NOW THROUGH JANUARY!!!
Well, all but two. My and Ron's run-away weekend in September and the weekend I go to Gatlinburg with my friend Teresa and all her sisters. (GGG - Girl's Gatlinburg Getaway) in November. But that's okay - Josh will send me updates, and I will get home both Sundays in time for the night game.
Today gets five stars for food - I was way under on calories today - and zero stars for exercise.

Mid-week mildness
Wednesday, September 4, 2013
Today was a very quiet, very mild day (thank God!). I can use a lot more days like this! The weather was beautiful, nothing was going on - I had nowhere to run til the evening, and I started the day just sitting in my recliner just reading my book. I read for a little over an hour, then got an the computer and got all my games caught up. After 2 rounds of playing all my games, I finally got off my lazy butt and did my Wii training.
I was going to do some laundry today...never happened. I was going to do up the few dirty dishes from our good supper last night...never happened. I was going to go outside and check around my flowers and plants and maybe do some weeding and puttering...never happened. I was going to go and ride my bike down Hoover Road again today...never happened. Sigh. I am such a slacker. I did get my Wii training done, though, finally, and I was okay with that.
Ron got home at 5, and sat in his recliner and fell asleep pretty quickly, so I let him sleep til 6, then woke him up and we made salads for supper. Then I played on the computer more, until time to jump in the shower, get dressed, and get up to church for my meeting tonight. I got back home after the meeting, and back on the computer I went...lol.
Believe it or not, I am feeling a bit tired tonight, too, and may go to bed 'early' - it's only 11 now - and just read for a while. I did get up this morning at 10, so I've been up enough hours! I have more to do tomorrow - things I must do that can't be done on the computer, and since I have had my fun computer day, I must have a 'do your work' day and get stuff done, I suppose. No one else will do it for me, that's for sure. And, yes, I have me a list. A long list.
Today gets five stars for food, exercise, stress, and just plain ol' wonderfulness!

A very satisfying Tuesday
Tuesday, September 3, 2013
Today was an all-around good day. The weather was good, the food was good, the exercise was good, everything was good. Yay! I like days like this.
I got up right around eleven, which is good for me. I played on the computer, got all my games caught up, then had my lunch. I had 3 leftover brats (white bratwurst, for those that don't know) and potato salad that was brought home from a get-together yesterday. Then I went outside and rode my (well, my sister's, which is living at my house for me to ride) bike, all by my lonesome (yay, iPod!) down Hoover Road. I didn't even try to push myself - I figured the 1/2 mile mark was good enough, this first time by myself. It was quite a nice ride, if I do say so myself. Not as stressful, nor as lonely as I had feared it would be.
When I got back from my bike ride, I got the dishes caught up from the weekend, and THAT was a job, let me tell you. Then back playing on the computer until time for my TOPS meeting, which I was kinda dreading after the last two pig-out days.
But, never fear, kind folks, I acually lost almost 1/2 pound! .4, to be exact, but I was sooooo glad it was not a gain, I didn't care how much it was! <<happy dance>> I impressed myself, lol!
Then back home for supper with Ron. I had him start boiling eggs to go with salads for us, but then we decided to go ahead and finish off leftovers from cook-out stuff. We figured it was better for the salad stuff to wait another day than the leftovers. So, we ended up having cheeseburgers, the rest of the home-grown green beans, made with ham and little potatoes. He had the rest of some cooked cabbage someone had given him, and I had 3 orange/yellow tomatoes, cut into chunks.
I had not put the last couple of days into myfitnesspal, because we had eaten such a variety of foods. I did put today's food and exercise in, and it ended up being one of the over-on-them and under-for-TOPS days. I am okay with that.
Today gets four stars for both food and exercise!

Happy Labor Day to all!! Whether you actually still labor at a paying job or not, it is now the end of summer. Hope this holiday weekend has been a good one for everyone.
We got our SUMMER project done on Sunday. Whew! Just in the nick of time - we cut that one close, didn't we? LOL We got the white gravel on Saturday, so on Sunday afternoon, Ron, with help from Corgan, got it poured out and the zoo animals moved back over to their renovated home. Yay! I got the ten or so blooms and greenery out of the square flowerboxes and put the baby mums I bought out into them, so they are ready for fall, also. I still have to do the long flowerbox, but nothing has bloomed in it for a while - nothing - so it won't make the yard look lopsided. The sedum by the fence is starting to get a bit of color - it's one of those that is green for a long time, then finally turns a dusky pink, then pink. Another type of sedum has come up over in front of my columbine, too. I didn't even know it was there! It is purple, almost in a round ball shape. It is very pretty, too (well, duh...) and sets off that corner nicely. The mimosa trees look like they have pea pods hanging on them, they look funny.
I have eaten terrible - well, I have eaten good food, but a terrible amount of food - these last two days.
We ended up throwing together a cookout on Sunday when they came to pick Corgan up. So, I ate a hamburger, 2 brats, potato salad, devilled eggs (3? 4? who counted?), green beans - good green beans, with ham & potatoes in them! - a spinach ball, and an Oreo ball or two for dessert. I also found a recipe for Christmas trees made with Reese's Cups and Hershey's Kisses (and white chocolate, but I used icing, instead) and I made those with a patriotic theme (red, white, & blue sprinkles), too. I ate ONE and that was plenty! After we ate, we came in the house, and Josh, Jean and I played Jeopardy on the Wii. Josh, as usual, was beating the tar out of us. When we played Final Jeopardy, they both bet all their money, I bet all but 200 of mine. All three of us got it wrong. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I WON!!!!! I laughed at 'em!!!!! I won with 200 dollars - nanner nanner boo boo!!
Then, after they left, I ate another big bowl of green beans!
Today, we went to friends' for a Labor Day get-together. They have a 'ribs' get-together every year. YUM. They know that I don't like barbeque sauce, etc. and always make me some plain ones, too. <<how nice is that?>> They also have a little bit of chicken (yes, again, some plain, for me), metts (polish and italian sausage) and brats, and we all bring side dishes. So, once again, I had potato salad, devilled eggs (again, who counted?) and a spinach ball. I also had baked beans, a tomato-onion-cucumber salad (only I didn't have any of the cukes), and lots of MEAT. Probably other stuff, too, but I can't remember now. LOL We had Oreo balls, a dump cake and ice cream for dessert. This lasts all day, so the same foods were both lunch and supper. Yep, yum and yum. Wonderful day, wonderful friends, wonderful time! Brought leftovers home for tomorrow, too!
I weigh in tomorrow night at my TOPS meeting. Sigh. This is not gonna be good.
These two days get three stars for food, and zero for exercise.

A not-so-busy Saturday for a change
Saturday, August 31, 2013
Today was not a normal Saturday. Ron and Corgan let me sleep until noon, which isn't totally strange, but we usually run like crazy on Saturdays, but we weren't today, til after Josh stopped on his way home from work, so it okay.
Josh was supposed to get here around one. He texted at ten after one, that he was just leaving work now and would be here soon. Yipes...that threw stuff (like our lunch) a little off schedule. Oh, well, we will live.
So, after they were done with Josh's tire, and we arranged with him to have Corgan another night because of the holiday
and they will come for supper tomorrow night to pick him up and all that, he left, Ron and Corgan came in, cleaned up, and off we went.
We went to Home Depot for our white gravel for the zoo. They are out! Out! We were just there two weeks ago and they had tons of the stuff! Dammit. So...we have to go to Lowe's, where we can NEVER find anyone who works there to help us, and see what they have. Sigh. Off we go. Well, I guess since we went into the Garden Center part of Lowe's, and not the store part, there were TWO employees right there, right inside the doorway, and we asked, and she told us where to go (of course she didn't walk us back and load the cart like the man at Home Depot did two weeks ago...) to find it. Well, it looked to be regular-colored gravel, not white, and the bag didn't specify white, either. I was a bit worried about it. But we found a bag that was already torn open. Yes, already - I didn't, although I would have, lol. It WAS white, which was good. But (there's always a but, right) the edges of the front bags were turning green! Probably from where moisture had gotten into the bags all summer long. So Ron got Corgan's pocketknife and cut open the pallet above and checked those, and we finished getting all the bags we needed. Boy, did Corgan fuss at us. "Are you sure you're allowed to cut that?" "Will they care that you cut that?" nag, nag, nag That boy doesn't stop! I also bought me ten 'baby' mums ($1.00 apiece!) so I can pull the five summer flowers out of my squares, and set these small-pot fall flowers into them - and have more blooms!!
Now we are all starving, and have got one of our errands for the day done (the other will wait til on the way home), and are ready for lunch. It's after four in the afternoon! Between Josh being late, and having to go to both Home Depot and Lowe's, which we did not expect, it almost dinnertime! We decided to go Hibachi Grill - a Chinese buffet. We have not been there in a long time, and it sure sounded good! So, that's where we went.
I had a plate of food, went back for some seconds, and had a plate of dessert stuffs, along with a small dish of ice cream - rainbow sherbet, to be exact. Not only did I have too much food, I had WAY too many of those crunchy peanuts they have there. I do not know what they are covered with - something white (it's not yogurt. Yogurt isn't crunchy.) but damn, are they good! I usually don't like crunchy stuff - crunchy sweets - but mmm-mmm-mmmmmmm.
We came home after stopping at WalMart so I could do the shopping that was planned for today - during which it started storming like all get-out. Whee! Loading groceries in the rain, so much fun. Luckily, Ron drove the truck right up to the door so I didn't have to walk the cart full of bags all the way out to where we parked. Then we came home and watched movies the rest of the night.
Oh, and the best news of the day???
My weigh-in this morning!
Today, when I weighed in, I lost over three pounds, to make a total of over five pounds for this week on the Wii!! I got flowers!! The FIRST TIME I have EVER gotten flowers for weight loss on the Wii!! Yay, me!!
