Or, actually, from Thursday, August 25th to now...
Not much has happened, just more of my everyday life over and over again.
I've had computer problems again.
I've been sunburned all week - from our day swimming on August the 24th! - and we (me and Bert) went swimming again on Wednesday, August 31st. I did my best to stay out of the sun, but how can you swim in a giant pool and not be in the sun? It was pretty awesome driving home from Teresa's that day - I saw TWO different rainbows! The first one was before I got to KFC, making me think to get Ron some chicken for supper, which he loved! It was still there when I pulled back out on the road, and didn't fade until I got kinda close to Amelia.
Then I saw the next one as I approached the 222 South intersection, and it got stronger (brighter, more vibrant) the closer I got to Bethel! They were both gorgeous, even though neither of them were full arches, just more like half of one side of the arch. I'm glad there weren't many cars around me - they would have thought I was crazy, taking pictures like I was. That is, if they weren't, too!
Josh, Chelle, Jean, and Corgan came up last weekend after Chelle got back from Hamburger University in Chicago. Josh and Corgan drove up to have a few days with her in Chicago, and they had pictures and stories to share. Jean enjoyed her Jeanie time at home!
We perused the information we had all gathered and came up with a game plan for the Rita/Corgan birthday weekend at the end of the month. I guess technically it's the beginning of next month, but who's counting? My birthday is on the Thursday, and his is on the Monday, and that won't happen again for quite awhile, so we decided a small weekend getaway was gonna work instead of a 'party.' We finally decided on Metamora, IN. It seemed to have the most that we can do for those couple of days but not be so far away and cost too much money. I think it's gonna be fun!
When I weighed in at my TOPS meeting on Tuesday night, I was very surprised to find that not only had I lost the 4.6 pounds I gained last week, but also an extra pound! That's right, I lost 5.6 pounds this week! Yay, me! However, when Ron and I did our weigh-in on the Wii, it said that I had gained 2.2 pounds...I don't get it, but I know that the two don't usually agree, so I'm not gonna worry about it.
I have decided that I'm not going to make my weight be such an important t.h.i.n.g. in my life. It is what it is, and I've done so much better than I ever expected I could.
You know, when I was my largest, I thought that I looked about what I really do look like now. Yes, I was delusional. But now I really do look like this, and I am very happy with this. I bought myself new pants (in the teens!) and they fit! I was SO thrilled - you just do not know unless you've been in this spot - and I can deal with whatever comes now, just as long as the scale numbers keep going down. It may take me some time to get "anywhere" but I am okay with that.

Tuesday
I had nothing planned for today, but I received a phone call about the baskets I had won at the festival on Sunday. I can't wait until I am going down the road again on Wednesday - they must be picked up today. (I wonder, though, what would happen if I truly couldn't get there!) So, I must make the trip down 1freaking25 this afternoon - between 4:00 and 5:00, which does not correspond with anything I have to do!
I decide to get there right before 5, and kill an hour sitting in Bob Evans before driving back to Bethel for my TOPS meeting. With this in mind, I get myself a bowl (side order) of fruit to pick at during that hour instead of "something to eat." Well - it didn't work!
When I weighed in, the scale said that I had gained 4.6 pounds!! 4.6!! What a crock! I couldn't believe it! Totally blew my month of losses out of the water....I was so disgusted with myself. How could I have messed that up so bad?
I came home to a supper of a huge salad, as planned, but - damn!
Wednesday
Today went pretty much as planned.
I left here at 11:00, picked Bert up soon after, and off we went to swim at Teresa's all day. And I do mean all day! Once we got there and everyone was changed into swimsuits and we went to the pool, we didn't leave until after 5:00! Teresa did leave to run up and get us all lunch at either Wendy's or McDonald's, but we ate our lunch poolside and then swam again - without putting more sunscreen on (big mistake!) - then finally went back to Teresa's apartment, changed back to regular clothes, hung out for a bit, then headed for home.
Ron had cheese weenies cooked and we had the rest of the salad veggies with them. And that was the evening.
It was a wonderful day!!!! I can take days like this!!

Wednesday & Thursday
Two long boring stay-at-home days. Oh, how these close in on me...so much so that on Thursday, I went uptown to have lunch at Gold Star for no good reason except that I wanted to go somewhere. I haven't done that so very much this year, and I admit that I used to do it all the time! Just manufacture any old excuse to go uptown just to go to lunch, but I have really made the effort this year to actually be going somewhere. Not this time - I was bad.
After Ron got home, I had to go back uptown to deposit his check, which he hadn't cashed, and if I'd known that, I wouldn't have gone up earlier. Oh, hindsight, how you bite me in the ass! Anyway, I got the money in the bank, got Ron his money, and went back home in less than half an hour. Bah!
Friday
My shopping day! Freedom from the house!
I plotted out my path for the day - post office, bank, Walgreen's, lunch (Don Rigo), Walmart - and off I went! I left home around 12:30 and didn't get home until after 5. After carrying the groceries in and putting the perishables away, I went in and took a little snooze in on the bed until Ron got home. I was exhausted! But I figured that I got my exercise today, and that was good.
Saturday
We didn't do anything much on Saturday. Ron worked on the yard - lawnmowers and weedeaters - as usual, getting it finished before the rain started. I puttered around here in the house as usual.
He did come in and surprise me by asking me if I wanted to go over to FeedMill in Felicity for some lunch. You can be sure I didn't say "no" and off we went. He had the chicken livers dinner and I had a ham hoagie with steak fries. When we got back home, he took a nap while I just reclined. Then it was time for us to get dressed in our casual glad rags and go to the End of Summer Bash we were invited to. Our friends had changed a (would-be) wedding reception to this End of Summer Bash so as to not lose their deposits and all - and it was wonderful fun! All the greatness of a reception without all the interruptions! They even had a cake:
And it was good, too! It was a great evening, even though I can only chair dance except for the slow songs and then I have to use a crane to get my loving hubby to dance with me. I was happy to see that I wasn't the only older woman having this problem!
We got home just before midnight, and we both are dreading the alarm in the morning.
Sunday
Church and lunch! Less than a month to "church, lunch, and football"!! Yay!!
Today's lunch is down at St. Bernadette's festival in Amelia - they have fried chicken and you know Ron won't pass that up! We do this every year, so we know it's gonna happen. They also have a pretty darn good silent auction (bid-n-buy) and I do like to check those over, too.
After our lunch, which we had with other church friends, we now have plans for the rest of the day! We are going to their house to play dominoes - what a day this is turning out to be!
I had bought pull tabs ($5.00) when walking by to go to lunch at the festival, and opened them while in line for the chicken. I won $27.00!! As we were leaving, I cashed those in and stopped - I won more than I spent.
I went through the bid-n-buy and put in my bid on two different Christmas baskets, and then we left. We stopped at Walmart for our veggies for salads for our suppers the next couple of days and munchies to take to our friends' house this afternoon. We took those veggies home and put them in the fridge, and off we went again.
We didn't get home until after 9:30, and we had a very fun afternoon, which was a lost different than the one we thought we were going to have when we left that morning!
Teresa had texted me and asked me about coming over and going swimming 'tomorrow' and I told her I'd call Bert when I got home and I'd let her know. Well, after a couple of phone calls back and forth, Bert and I are going swimming on Wednesday, but I'm going swimming on Monday.
Monday
Spent the day swimming at Teresa's. We had lunch from KFC, so I ate too much. It was great fun, and I am very tired.
No plans for tomorrow.

Monday
Happy Homemaker Day. Yay! Not....
But I did get the weekend dishes done, as well as a load of towels, so both my dishes and laundry chores were fulfilled. One of these days soon, I'm going to have to put away all the clothes in the baskets because I am running out of baskets - I hate when that happens!
I fell asleep during the afternoon, and next thing I know, Ron is home and it's time to figure out supper. I zap him one of his frozen Chinese things and make myself some chicken noodle soup.
I then proceeded to fall asleep while watching dead guys after Ron had gone on to bed, and he woke me up when he got up to go to work and sent me on to bed. Ai yi yi! What is going on here?
Tuesday
I woke up with a terrible, terrible headache with the remnants of a gawdawful dream remaining with me - very disconcerting! - and the headache didn't go away all day. I piddled around, doing small chores like emptying the dishdrainer and folding the towels and getting them put away. I eventually fell asleep in my recliner and Ron woke me up when he came in. Two days in a row! I sure don't like this!
I got my shower and dressed to go to my TOPS meeting, even though I was sure that was going to be a disaster.
But, to my surprise, I lost .8 of a pound! Not only did I lose, I ended up being Loser of the Week!!! Yeah, I guess my week wasn't so bad after all - I claim a Victory!
I get back home to find Ron cooking himself some fried green tomatoes, and I have to find my own supper. I cheated and went out and got a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant to zap for myself, which I had with the rest of the box of Better Cheddars.
We both had ice cream for dessert, and that was that. (Silky Ron broke one of my spoons digging out the ice cream - yeah, he was using a plastic spoon! Crazy man!)
I refuse to fall asleep in my chair tonight......
No plans again tomorrow. Man, this week is lasting forever already!

A bad eating weekend, but a most satisfying weekend!

Saturday
This Saturday started as most Corgan-weekend Saturdays do, with me "sleeping in" while Ron and Corgan went out into the garage and started their messing about with lawnmowers, weedeaters, and whatnot. I did get up a little before noon because I wanted to run over to Felicity to see if I could find something for supper tonight in their selection of the 5/$20. meat, and I thought Corgan might want to go with me. He is getting pretty good at getting out of real work when Grandpa has work for him to do, you know. He will be 12 in a couple of months....
Anyway, he declined to go with me, but Ron was put on alert that when I got back, it would be time to down tools, clean up, and go to lunch. This was planned because Grandpa wanted to show Corgan the new restaurant we've discovered (BJ's Lake) and he didn't feel like going last night.
I found nothing at Felicity but our ice cream bars (finally!), so only came home with two boxes to put into the freezer. After we eat lunch, I'll have to go up to Save-A-Lot and see what I can find there for supper.
After a half hour wait, we get to go to lunch (yeah, the man doesn't take hints well), and Corgan enjoyed his lunch of fish'n'chips. Ron had the mushroom hoagie again, and I tried a different cheeseburger - this one was like a Double R and was supposed to have hickory BBQ sauce, but I asked to NOT have that - and it was delicious!
After lunch, we do go up to Save-A-Lot, where those two decide to sit in the hot ol' truck while I go in the nice air conditioned store. I peruse the 5/$20. meat, and I do find some small steaks that I can get enough packages of to feed us all, and that is what I chose. I also got a bag of potatoes to make fried potatoes to go with the steaks. Sounded like a yummy summer to me!
We got back home and Corgan started playing his video game again, Ron went back outside, and I went to lay on the bed and read until time to start peeling the potatoes for supper. I expected Josh and Chelle around quarter after 6, so I wanted to start peeling the potatoes at 5, so they'd be on by 5:30. Believe it or not, all that worked out just about perfect! Corgan had chosen mixed vegetables as our veggie, and I added a jar of mushrooms to them, and I had them on low on a back burner. When Josh and Chelle got here, I had Josh cook the steaks on the griddle because they all like them medium-rare, but I like to cook them done. He cooked mine first, so it was done enough for me.
So, anyway, supper all got done at the same time and on the table hot, hot, hot! Man, was it good!
After supper, we played cards. Lots and lots of cards, with one break to eat ice cream. You see, there was some ice cream left after the birthday party last week, but someone (who can't figure out why he weighs so much) finished off two of the cartons. He told me to buy more while in Save-A-Lot, and I did, plus one. So we had lots of ice cream to eat! After our break, we played more cards.
We had a grand time - it was wonderful!
Sunday
Sunday. Church and lunch.
Well, Ron surprised me today - he wanted to go somewhere different for lunch. I told him that I didn't care - he was driving, and he was paying, so wherever he goes is fine. I'll find something to eat. He both threw out a couple of choices, and he said Butterbee's in Mt. Orab a couple of times, so I finally told him that if he wants Butterbee's, go to Butterbee's!
So that's where we went. We took the longcut - it's not a shortcut - up to Mt. Orab, and finally got there. We had the appetizer sampler (I think it's called the Tailgate Sampler), then we both ordered meals. He got chicken - something BBQed - and I got the big fish dinner (cod). Well, we had filled up so much on the appetizer and our sides that we couldn't finish our meals, so we got to bring some food home, and that doesn't happen very often.
We were driving home, coming up Hoover Road, and as we came around the curves, we saw the rain up across 133. How cool it looked - like a huge curtain! We were hoping that we'd be able to get home before the rain crossed 133, but we weren't that lucky. We got soaked while our fat asses ran into the house. It only rained for maybe five minutes, too - we could have just waited it out! Who knew? We're still waiting for the rain that's going to start and last for four days that the weatherman said was going to start Saturday around noon.....
Anyway, we were home now, and we changed out of our wet clothes and Ron turned on the TV and that was that. It was dead guys for the rest of the day.
After a while, we did go have some ice cream, but we didn't really have any supper.
It did start to sprinkle rain once again, and we were blessed with a rainbow again - the second one this week! I know rainbows don't really look all that different every time, but when they happen in your back yard, it's kinda thrilling, especially when they are full arches!
And now this day is over. Not only the day, but the weekend, and it's been a most satisfying weekend. Not good on the diet part, but very good on the being with family and just enjoying life part. I can certainly live with those!
Nothing at all planned for this week, so I will be bored out of my skull. Oh, well, I was busy as hell this past week, so this will balance it out.

Thursday
I had a doctor appointment today. Doc had to fill out the paper for the DMV and he likes for us to fill out such papers together, so...
After my appointment, I waffled over whether to have my lunch at Crackhead Barrel or Longhorn, finally deciding to be good and have my almost-perfect salad at Longhorn. I called Ron to see where he was but he didn't answer, and I went on. He called me back as I was pulling in to Longhorn and said that he was on 32, but close to Batavia - so I just missed him!! Just our luck.
My salad was wonderful, as usual, and I quite enjoyed it.
Getting home, I did a bit of Happy Homemaker crap, getting the house ready for the weekend. Not too much, mind you, but some. Mostly dishes.....
After Ron got home, I made him one of his frozen Chinese things for his supper, and I had a bowl/can of chicken noodle soup for my supper. Dead guys on TV until we got tired of 'em, then it was game shows.
Friday
Shopping! Beautiful, wonderful shopping!
Bert met me at Bob Evans for some lunch before we both did our respective shopping, and we had a grand time talking and catching up! I had the chicken salad plate that I like so much, although I did have four slices of banana nut bread today. I had two slices while waiting for Bert to show up, then two more with my meal.
Then, while shopping, I decided to buy us some munchies. I bought Better Cheddars, though, instead of chips, thinking they'd be better for us. We haven't had any kind of munchies in so long......and I've been wanting something crunchy, so I did it!
After getting home - after Ron and Corgan! - and getting the groceries in and the perishables put away, I grabbed a box of Better Cheddars and went to lay on the bed (Corgan had confiscated my chair) to recover from the shopping trip and the heat. Well, let me tell you, Better Cheddars are damn good. Damn Good.
I had to put the box aside to go make our supper - that shrimp dish - and then brought my serving of shrimp in to eat with my crunchy Better Cheddars and, next thing I knew, the box was empty!! Empty!! I couldn't believe it!! Man, do I love those Better Cheddars - or I was so ready for something crunchy. Take your pick.
Nothing planned for tomorrow - I'll probably be on a carb overload downer, anyway.

A new 3-month check-up, and back to normal
Monday, August 8, 2016 -
Wednesday, August 10, 2016
Monday
A trip today to the hematologist for my 3-month check-up for the CLL. Trust me, this is totally different from my 3-month check-up with Doc for my diabetes! But it all went very well, even though I had to see a nurse practioner instead of the hematologist - it seems that he is on paternity leave! - but after they drew three vials of blood and put me in a room, I found out that my WBC (white blood count) has improved. It was 16.9 and now it's 14.3 and that can only be a good thing. Don't be trying to tell me that prayers don't work! I was assured that since I am still asymptomatic, and with this good count, all I can do is continue doing what I am, keep my eye out for symptoms, and come back in three months.
After leaving the doctor's office, I went to have lunch at Mama's Grill in Williamsburg. Oh, they have such a menu - it's hard to choose between breakfast and lunch, let alone choose what exactly I want! I finally decide on lunch, and start narrowing down my choices from there. I finally decided on a country fried steak meal with mashed potatoes and a mix of corn and lima beans (aka succotash), and it was oh, so good! I sat there and enjoyed every single bite!
Once I got home, I changed my clothes and just sat in my recliner. I was still a little overwhelmed by the news that I am still Stage 0 in the cancer and can pretty confidently be certain to remain there, and I had just had a very good meal. Yeah, a little nap sounded good.
After that, I worked on the Enderman cake I was making for my great-niece. I have to deliver it to her birthday party tomorrow, so I have to finish it today - no more excuses! It's not as easy to put together as I thought it was going to be, and I should have bought a third can of icing, but I didn't, so I have to make do with the two cans. This is gonna be fun....not.
I do this to the cake and let it set. I make Ron a cabbage dish for his supper. I do that to the cake and let it set. I make myself a bowl/can of chicken noodle soup for my supper and watch some dead guys. I go to get myself a drink to go to bed, and...there sits the cake! I forgot about it! Crap! Now I have to finish it before I really can go to bed. About an hour later, I can finally go to bed because now the cake is finished. Whew!
Tuesday
This is my Happy Homemaker Day this week - kinda. I can only start a load of laundry (towels) because I have to leave to deliver the cake to the birthday party, which is over in Eastgate at Chuck E. Cheese, and that's not just a little drive from here, you know.
The cake gets delivered and I get back home, where I recline in my recliner for a bit after getting the towels into the dryer. Sitting and driving for all that time doesn't feel all that great, you know. After a bit, though, I get up, get my shower, and get ready to go to my TOPS meeting.
Weighing in, I find that I have lost weight this week. Only .2 of a pound, but it's a loss and I will take it! We had a short fun meeting this week - I enjoy those a lot when they happen.
Coming home, Ron has supper done - Manwich - and we enjoy supper while watching TV. He had a movie in and we finished watching that, then it was dead guys.
Wednesday
Happy Homemaker Day. Whippy Dippy Doo! Dishes and laundry and other little chores. Such a fun time - as always - not. Oh, how I hate housework.
The dishes seem to take me forever and I don't know why.
I had my chicken salad and walnuts for my lunch, which I had around 2:30, knowing that I was not going to have much of a supper.
When Ron got home - early, even! - he went out to work on lawnmowers and piddle around out in the garage and I made him some fried green tomatoes for his supper. I cooked first three tomatoes in cornmeal and the last two without. He preferred the plain ones, too. Crazy man! I wish he'd make up his mind. The last time I made them, he told me that he wanted me to make them 'some different way, not just plain.' I made myself my poor man's shit on a shingle (tuna in potato soup) and that was that. We each enjoyed an ice cream bar for dessert.
Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment. He's got to fill out that paper for the DMV so I can keep my driver's license. Sigh.

A most satisfying weekend!

Thursday
Kind of a bittersweet day - it's the one year anniversary of our friend Laura's death. I didn't do anything to commemorate the day, and I did my best not to think of it all day long, but the thought just kinda hung over me. It was a normal Happy Homemaker Day for me, just staying home and doing what I could here. I didn't go get Ron's check or anything, although I could have - we decided it was okay if he just brought it home.
After he got home, we both did our weigh-ins on the Wii, and we both have lost some weight! Yay, us! He lost almost three pounds, and I lost 1.8 (according to the Wii - I love the Wii!) and we discussed plans for the weekend. We're going to blow it this weekend, we just know it.
Friday
I started out this Friday morning by getting my lazy ass up, getting a shower, getting dressed and hitting the road - I was supposed to be up at church to help move things by 9:30. As it was, I ended up a few minutes late, but I did my share of moving the baskets from the church over to the Center. The Pig Roast is this weekend and all the baskets must be available for everyone to see (and buy raffle tickets for!) while they are there!
After this job is done, it's time to start running my errands - you know, the fun stuff! Since it was close to 11:00, I called Josh to see if he wanted to have lunch with his mama for a change - besides, today's his birthday! - and he said that since he had to go to the DMV on his lunch, he thought it would be okay to have a long lunch and we made arrangements to meet at Longhorn. I went to Meijer and did a bit of birthday and Christmas shopping while he was at the DMV, then went to meet him, and we celebrated his birthday in style.
After lunch, he went back to work and went over to Eastgate Mall and did more shopping, although I did much more walking around than I did shopping. Then it was on to other stores, finally ending up at Walmart to do our grocery shopping. Man, was that ever a long day!
Once I got home and got everything carried in, I put away the perishables, then I collapsed into my recliner and fell asleep - this damn napping thing! - until Ron came home. We then got the rest of the groceries put away, and went up to BJ's Lake for our 'celebratory' dinner (my approval). He got a steak hoagie with mushroom sauce and fries, while I got a BLT double-decker with fries. His was a huge sandwich! They were both very good. I'm glad we found a different place to go - we were kinda tired of everywhere, if you know what I mean.
Home to dead guys on TV, Ron sleeping in his recliner, and me tableting while I watch TV while reclining in my recliner. Until bedtime, anyway - then I made a batch of no-bake cookies, so they would set overnight. That was the plan, anyway.
Saturday
This was a hectic day. Luckily, the no-bake cookies did set, so that was one thing marked off the list. Ron got up earlier than me, as usual, and changed the alternator on his truck. I woke up as he was leaving the driveway to take it for a little test drive when he was done. When he got back, he came in to talk to me and let me know that he was done with that and was jumping on the lawnmower now. Men and their mowers! Mow, mow, mow...
I got up and started wrapping all the birthday gifts that I bought yesterday, as well as the ones that I had socked away. Nothing like waiting til the last minute, right? I also cooked two pounds of bacon to go with the burgers tonight as a surprise for everyone. Then I had to go uptown to deliver the no-bake cookies to the Pig Roast (that's what they were for - dessert for the Pig Roast) and go to Save-A-Lot for some kind of dessert for us tonight, which I had totally forgotten about while I was grocery shopping. Back home, I help Ron outside by helping to lay a fire in the firepit while he set up his grill, then I go back in the house to finish up the wrapping and get all that paraphernalia put away. Then I figure I'll do a load of dishes just to get things over on that counter out of the way. I got done just in time to take a 10-minute break before they all got here, and, boy, did I need it! I had been rushing around so much, trying to finish everything, I needed to let my body rest.
They came in, and the evening started. Ron grilled the hamburgers outside while I cooked the fries (well, okay, I put them in the oven) and fried the zucchini that they brought with them. Josh sliced it up and we fried it in a cast iron skillet, just like frying potatoes. They started complaining that they didn't see any bacon, and they were supposed to be having bacon cheeseburgers tonight - they only said Ronburgers, I swear! - so I pulled the bacon out of the oven and said that it was a good idea that I thought to surprise them with bacon then, huh? Everyone had a good laugh about that!
We had a very good meal - it all got ready at the same time (of course!) - and everything was hot and oh, so good.
After the meal, it was time for them to open their gifts. They took turns, as they usually do, but Josh had more gifts than Chelle did, so it was a little lopsided, but it all worked out okay. I think they were very happy with the gifts - I know for a fact Chelle was, but with my Spock Boy, who knows?
We then played cards. Josh wanted to play Shanghai Rum, so that was what we played, and I was ON FIRE!!! I ended up with a score of -30, while all of them had scores of over 1000!! I haven't played a game of Shanghai like that in.....forever! It felt great!
Sunday
Church and lunch. Yep, that was our Sunday. We went to Gold Star for our lunch today since Ron didn't feel like driving down the road. I had my usual Gorito and Chili Cheese Fries while he had a 5-way and a Cheese Coney. We came home, where he went outside to finish up his mowing and weedeating. I stayed in the house to try to find the letter that I have to take to Doc on Thursday, but I have put it up in a safe place. It's totally safe, trust me.
Supper was a cheese sandwich for me and tomato sandwiches for him.
And this busy, fun, satisfying weekend has come to an end.
Hematologist appointment for me tomorrow - my first 3-month check-up - and I'm a little nervous.

boring days lead to......The Big Day!

Monday and Tuesday
Monday was my Happy Homemaker Day - laundry and dishes. My normal fun weekday...not! I also did a "march in place" exercise for about seven minutes. I was aiming for ten minutes, but the phone rang, so I had to quit, and by the time I was off the phone, I had forgotten I was doing it!
I did make some phone calls that needed made, including to my disability lawyer(s), asking my last-minute questions, which were evidently no big deal to them, because she just spouted out the answers without having to think about it at all! I guess that's a good thing...
As well as all that, I had my chicken salad and walnuts for lunch. During the afternoon, I walked out to check the mail and noticed more Mystery Lilies coming up out on the front hill, so I came in and got my camera and walked around the yard taking pictures of flowers.
I fell asleep in my recliner and Ron woke me up when he came in - which was rather late, because he stopped and got an alternator for his truck on his way home. It's used, but from a truck just like his, so should be the right amps and all that. The guy gave him an excellent price, too, and that was even better news!
I made Ron a cabbage dish for his supper and made myself an egg sandwich with three eggs and, yes, it was an egg sandwich. I had it on bread, but that was all I had for supper. Ron and I each had an ice cream for our dessert.
Tuesday was a lackadaisial day - I got up, moved out to my recliner, and that was about it for the day. I didn't do a whole heck of a lot all day long. I had gotten everything caught up the day before and just didn't feel like putting any effort toward any other household chores, so I just sat there and vegged.
I just had chicken salad for my lunch because I was hoping for a good showing at TOPS tonight. When it came time, I got my shower and all, put on light clothes (do everything you can for less weight!), decided supper with Ron (even Tuesdays are his day...), and went to my meeting. When I weighed in, I was pleased to find a 1.4 pound weight loss! It wasn't as good as I was hoping (I had gained close to 5 pounds last week), it was a loss, and I will always take a loss! We had a good meeting, talking about being "stalled" and how to get going again. I got some good suggestions. I've got to start making my brain think differently is how I'm starting to think about this. I've totally changed in this three years, and my journey is totally different now, and my thinking needs to reflect that.
I came home to supper and promptly dumped it, and my drink, in my lap trying to scoot my TV tray in closer to me. Actually, I spilled the drink into the plate and onto me, so I was just frozen, not burned, so I guess that was a good thing....it was still freaky! Ron had made fish (the square ones), corn, and pork & beans. It was a good supper, if a little strange-tasting because of the drink spilled into it. Only me...
The lawyer who will meet me tomorrow also called me during the evening to go over things with me. This having a different lawyer every time I turn around is very strange. I think I've talked to ten or so different ones now. Odd.
Wednesday -- The Big Day!
The day of my Social Security Disability Hearing - the day I've been waiting for - is finally here!
Chelle is here is drive me downtown, and Bert is going to go with me, too, as my cheerleader. We stop to pick her up on the way and off we go.
We had left in plenty of time, and get downtown over an hour early. Sure beats getting there late, right?
As things would have it, by the time my lawyer was free to talk to me (he had another case before mine), my back had me up from the chair and pacing the waiting room. I'm not sure if that was a good thing or not, since the judge wouldn't know it, but there it was.
The lawyer (who looked like he just graduated high school!) and I, as well as Chelle and Bert, had a little conference going over everything and he told me how he was going to present everything, what he was going to present, blah blah blah and did we have any questions and we went over it all pretty well.
They finally called us in the hearing room - Chelle and Bert went back to the waiting room - and things got started. The lawyer and the judge were talking their own language - everything had a number - and I had no idea what they were saying until one of them said a medical word! Then, finally, the questioning started. The judge asked me questions about what I could do, what I thought I could do, and how long I could do any of these things, which, of course, I answered as honestly and as clearly as I could. After a while, she and the lawyer talked their language some more, then she asked if he would like a small recess so he could confer with me. He and I went to a conference room, gathered Chelle and Bert, and discussed things. He said that the judge said that she would approve it IF we amended the date of the claim from the original date to the date of (my fall and) my broken back, since I could, and did, work after the stroke and there wasn't a chance to see if the heart attack really had disabled me, but quite obviously, the broken back did. We all agreed that the broken back was definitely the most disabling injury/happening, and so I signed the paper to amend the date to the date of the fall/broken back. Chelle and Bert went back to wait, we went back to the hearing room, turned in that paper, and five minutes later, it was done. I am approved.
Of course, I will have to wait for the official letter. I am hoping to receive that in 4-6 weeks, but who knows? When I get it, I get it! I am happy right now, just knowing that I am approved. I will be able to do my share financially around here! I will be able to be a helpmate to my husband again! I will be useful when needed!
Praise be!! \o/

Praise be!! \o/

Thursday
This was our get-Ruth-moved day, and that is what we did. Veronica, her hubby, her dad, and I met at Ruth's - well, really Tammy's - and collected Ruth, then went on to her storage and got it emptied. Yes, even though it was raining. It wasn't storming, just a steady rain, so it wasn't too very bad. We did get wet, but we didn't get miserable. We got it back to Ruth's, which is next door to Tammy's, and got the trucks emptied. Her storage is now empty and her trailer is full of furniture and boxes!
When we were done, I went to Country Inn and got myself some lunch. A double-decker BLT with steak fries today instead of the big breakfast - I was ready for something different, but you can't go wrong with bacon! After that, I headed for home, but Ron saw me turning out of the road and called me, so I turned around and met him at the bank. He came out after cashing his paycheck and we divvied up the money, so now I went to put gasoline in my car and drove up to Bethel to make the deposit instead of going home. Nothing like extra errands thrown into the day, right?
When I finally got home, I ended up falling asleep in the recliner (again!) and woke up not too long before Ron came home. We had our nice usual boring evening at home then, which included doing our weigh-in on the Wii. We both lost weight! Ron lost about 6 pounds, and I lost 1.4. WhooHoo!
Friday
Friday was my usual shopping day, even though I didn't much feel like it. But I made myself do it, because the weekend was already planned out. I stopped at Don Rigo in Kroger's plaza for my lunch, hoping for a donation for the church, but no luck there. Good thing I have found something to enjoy having for lunch there! Then it was on do the shopping, which I got done well within the budget I had set for myself. Home to unload all the groceries and put away the perishables, and it was time to collapse into the recliner once again. This is getting old, let me tell you!
The rest of the family is home from vacation and they are coming up tonight, bringing pizza for supper, and we'll play cards tonight, then they'll leave Corgan for his stay-the-night this week. It'll be fun!!
And it was -- they got here, we cooked the pizzas and scarfed them down, then played poker for a while. I even won a couple of hands! We finished the evening off by playing a game of Up and Down the River, which went much as usual, only this time we gambled on the outcome, too.
They left around 10:00 or so and Corgan took over the TV, Ron fell asleep in his recliner, and I went to bed.
It was a wonderful evening!
Saturday
Ron and Corgan went uptown and got haircuts this morning. Corgan was supposed to wake me before they left so I could tell Ron the plans for the rest of the day, but he forgot. Ron called me from the parts store, but I told him that we'd just talk when they got back. The parts store, you ask? Yes. You see, we've paid off Ron's truck - and a couple of months ago, we had to buy a battery for it, and now it seems the alternator is going out. Yep. That's how it goes, right? (I've not had any problems when I've driven it, but Ron does when he drives to work (in the middle of the night) in the rain -- red battery light on, gauge doesn't read strong enough, etc.) We're hoping to baby it for a while, but who knows? Alternators are gonna cost us over One Hundred Dollars....
When they get home and Ron tells me his news - the cost of the alternator - and we discuss that. Then I tell him my news - I am supposed to drive the truck down to meet Bert at Kroger and put gasoline in it. Today is also the day of the church's fundraiser over in Eastgate and we need to go do our little bit over there, too. I am also making a new dish for supper tonight and would like help to peel a 10 pound bag of potatoes.
Guess what he tells me? "Too bad. Me and Corgan are mowing." Yep. So much for the careful plans I made for Saturday! I had everything carefully timed out, so everything was fit in, but now it's all shot to hell. I start peeling the potatoes, because I know it's going to take me awhile. Then Bert calls and says she doesn't feel like going to Kroger, so can we do this tomorrow after church?, which I agreed to (what else could I do?) and I went out to tell Ron that now I'm not going. I get back in the house and Bert calls back to say that she has to go to Kroger to pick up prescriptions, so we might as well get the gasoline today. Okay, then. Everything is back on again. I toddle back outside to let Ron know that now I'm going...again. He just rolls his eyes and keeps on mowing. I hollered at his back that I'd let him know when I'm leaving and went back in the house to get the potatoes peeled (yeah, my back just loved me standing at the sink that long) and getting the dish - make that dishes, we're pigs - ready and into the oven before I could leave.
When Bert finally called that she was ready to go, I had other plans formed in my head. I went out and told Ron I was leaving, and I got his gasoline money and left. After driving the truck down the road with no radio or AC, when I met Bert, I asked her if she would drive me over to Eastgate for the fundraiser and she did. I bought her (and her mom) supper as thanks for doing this. We got back to Kroger, got our gasoline, and we both left, her to go to Kroger and me to go home. Boy, did the house smell good when I walked in! Having that stuff cook the whole time I was gone was a very good idea!
The rest of the family got there 15 minutes after I figured supper would be done - which was the time they have told me time and time again is the time they eat supper - but since it was just cooking in the oven, everything was okay.
I got it all on the table and we all dug in. They liked it! Hey, Mikey! They liked it!
After supper was over, we played a game of Shanghai Rum, which we haven't played in a long time. Corgan didn't play - that game is a bit much for him - and Jean didn't play, either, because she doesn't like to play cards. She plays board games with us, which Ron doesn't, but not card games.
When that was over, we played a game of Up and Down the River, which Corgan did play with us.
And that was our Saturday night.
Sunday.
Church and lunch. Yep. That's our Sunday. After church, which we didn't get out of until late because I was selling raffle tickets for the baskets I've been getting these donations for, we went up to Georgetown to Country Inn for our lunch. Ron got his fried chicken and I got the double-decker BLT and steak fries. Back home, we both collapsed into our recliners and dozed as he "watched" American Pickers all afternoon long. Sometimes, ya just gotta let the man have the say.....at least it wasn't those silly-ass car shows.
My disability hearing is Wednesday, and I have to call the lawyer tomorrow for last-minute questions. Other than that, it's just going to be a normal Happy Homemaker Monday.
And -- it's August. Already.

I packed a week's worth of busy into one day!
Tuesday, July 26, 2016 -
Wednesday, July 27, 2016
First of all, I rushed to finish my blog before midnight last night and I forgot to say "Happy Birthday!" to my daughter-in-law yesterday. It wasn't intentional - I was trying to beat the clock, and I barely made it!
Tuesday. My day from Hell. Too much ended up happening on the same day!
I was meeting my cousin for 'lunch' at Country Inn in Mt. Orab at 11:00, so I had to get up by 10:00 to prepare to leave, which was planned to be at 10:30. I knew these other things were scheduled for today, so was trying to do what I could so I wouldn't be rushed later (yeah, right...) and, thus, ended up leaving a little later than planned. Then I decided to take a shortcut which ended up being a longcut - just my luck - and, sure enough, I was much later than expected. Phooey!
I did get there, though, and we had our 'lunch' which ended up being breakfast - the big Slammer breakfast, like the one Ron and I get (at the Country Inn in Georgetown) on Sundays, for both of us, with some variances. We had a good talk while we were eating, and when we were done, it was time for the next part of the day - the next scheduled event - to be happening.
Ruth was supposed to be meeting us, so we could go pretty much across the street and start emptying her storage. But she didn't show up and didn't show up. I tried texting her. I tried calling her. No response. Hmmmm. Finally, I text her daughter (the one she lives with, and is getting ready to move next door to). She answers that she isn't home, but Ruth is. Ruth is home, watching the kids while "they" are getting car parts. Well, that answers that question. Not only is Ruth not able to drive the car, she is watching the kids while they are gone and who knows when they will get back because HE knows Ruth wants to do something. (But -- I'll be good and not go there.)
So, finally, Veronica and I decide to go pick Ruth (and the kids) up and get this show on the road! When we get there, of course, Ruth has no idea we're on our way and is not ready and we have to wait for her to get the kids ready and try to put a car seat in the back seat of Ron's truck (yeah, that was fun! NOT!) and off we go back to get Veronica's truck and then to the storage.
The kids, of course, ran around at the storage, but were, in general, pretty good - they didn't go far.
We worked on emptying the storage. Ruth and Veronica were very aware of what I was doing - they kept asking me about boxes being too heavy and telling me 'don't pick that up!' and they moved the recliner and the couch without even looking at me and, soon, as these things go, it started sprinkling on us! Oh, no! Rain! We looked at the sky, but it didn't look bad over us but was starting to darken, so we hustled to get what we could on the trucks and get back to get it unloaded. There were still sprinkles as we drove back, but I didn't even need the wipers.
Getting back, we unloaded even faster as the clouds gathered and you could really tell it was going to pour. Again, I got to carry light boxes - but I did my share and, yes, she has steps. Ugh!
When it came time to get the couch off the truck, it was decided to put it in Tammy's because of things that will be happening in a couple of weeks and why move it twice? So the truck was moved and Ruth and Veronica started trying to get it up those steps. I tried to direct it, but I wasn't much help. It was finally through the door, and that's where it stopped.
Yay! We beat the downpour! Us "old fat ladies," (my words) who were the only movers available, did it! Ruth's daughter, her useless fella (you know, the one who conveniently had to go buy car parts), and his useless brother, who conveniently claimed, "No muscle!" when he did bother to come over while they were wrestling with the couch, didn't do a damn thing, and I doubt that they will lift a finger to help her finish, either. (And, if I may be so rude, it wouldn't surprise me if something conveniently "happens" to her stuff once she is finally totally moved out into her own place. Just because.) But it's mostly done, and will be finished on Thursday. Us old fat ladies rock!!
When I left Ruth's, driving ahead of the rain, I headed down toward Josh's, where I was going to do our Cat Duty for the day. I called Ron to see where he was and - lo and behold! - he was at the landfill! I stopped to switch vehicles (getting Ron's truck up Josh's driveway is not fun for me) and got to see Ron for a few minutes, as he was just coming down off the hill from emptying the box on his truck. Boy, was that a mistake! No sooner had I started on down 68 toward Ripley than the rain started - and when it started, it poured! My car has no AC, thanks to T-boning that deer last Fall, and I couldn't leave the windows down in that kind of rain. Then I couldn't breathe in the closed-in car with the windows up, so I spent the rest of the trip alternating getting wet, putting my window down (putting down the passenger window let in spray from passing cars) to breathe and putting it back up to not short out my electric crap on the door. I turned on the defroster, but it wasn't much help. Some, not much. Even on the coolest setting, on days like this, it's too hot.
I finally get to Josh's and have to get out to check his mail. Then up his driveway after the stop - yeah, it was back up a little and then GO. Then down the little incline (and don't fall!) to get in out of the rain. Good thing I know where the towels are!
The only cat to greet me was Cleo, but she wouldn't let me touch her. I even sat on the couch, but she wouldn't come near me. I refilled the food and water bowls, but kept them up on the counter, making noises, trying to get the other two cats out of hiding. It didn't work. I finally went searching for them, finding Cinder under Corgan's bed upstairs (yes, I chanced the curving stairs) but she just gave me the evil eye. I didn't see hide nor hair of James once again. I can't figure out where that fat cat can hide - I looked under beds, couches, and chairs - but no James. He weighs over 20 pounds - he can't fit any old where!
I put the food and water bowls back in their place - and Cleo was sitting there patiently waiting, and she let me pet her head this time! So I headed home.
It's raining, but it's a soft rain this time, not a downpour, so I have the passenger window down all the way home. Yay for breathing!
Once home, there is NO time for rest. I must move, move, move to get to the next scheduled event.
I get in the shower, rinse off all the rain as well the icky sticky sweat from the moving, get dressed again, start loading the car with everything I need for Christmas in July in Hawaii at my TOPS meeting tonight. I have to be there at 5:30 to decorate and set up dinner before everyone else (except my co-chair) gets there. Usually I don't leave the house until 6:30, so this is a big change. Luckily, I had everything all together in baskets, bags, and the cooler in the kitchen and it only took about five trips. I got back on the road at 5:25, which meant I was gonna be late again, but what can I say? I tried damn hard!
I get up there and we get the car unloaded. Then we have the fun of decorating and setting everything up. I was overheated, but since the building had AC, I was able to cool down even as I was working frantically to get finished. We finished, but people started trickling in before we were totally done, but it was no big deal. Everyone was pleasantly surprised and quite enjoyed the evening. We got many compliments on everything. While it was fun, I am definitely glad it's over!
The worst part of the evening was when I weighed in. I gained 4.6 pounds this week - so much for sweating off that big breakfast! Ugh! I had a 3.4 loss last week, so I was hoping for Loser of the Month, but that blew that out the window...
By the time I got home after reloading my car, my back was screaming at me! Now, I had taken Aleve at breakfast and again before going to TOPS, and I put cream on my back after my shower, too, but the day was just too much.
I went to bed before 9:30, taking a sleeping pill (...PM) although I did lay there and play on my tablet for about an hour, catching up my games before turning off the light. I slept the sleep of the dead! Ron puts the house phone by me in the mornings, and I missed TWO phone calls this morning - I absolutely did not hear the phone ring. I finally woke up around 10:30 this morning.
Wednesday
Waking around 10:30 (as mentioned above), I stayed in bed, tableting and reading until almost 1:00, then I got up and started in playing Happy Homemaker. I decided to run uptown for my lunch, so I went and got dressed, then went to Gold Star and had my usual Gorito and Chili Cheese Fries, then came back home and finished my Happy Homemaker jobs. Man, there's got to be a better gig!
Today was my normal boring day after that. I resisted taking a nap - I don't like this falling asleep stuff that's happening - and now my bed is calling me once again. I'm thinking I'll answer that call, catch my games up again, and visit snoozeland.
Tomorrow is finishing up Ruth's move. I won't do much - Veronica and her hubby will do the heavy lifting - but I will be there for support! We'll see how the rest of it goes.

Busy, busy times...sometimes

Thank you all for your input after my last blog. I really needed the suggestions, and I think they will help my brain straighten things out!
This week has been a little busy - between getting things together for the Pig Roast up at church (still trying to get those donations!), trying to get myself on a straighter path, and just day-to-day life, time has been flying by! We didn't have Corgan this weekend, either - the little turd went on vacation to the Smoky Mountains with his parents, imagine that! - so we got a lot of little stuff done here around the house, too!! We really love harvesting strawberries every few days!
The only down side is that summer has really hit now and it's hotter than Hell every day and the heat, I suppose as well as everything else, just drains me. I take more naps now than I ever did my entire life! (I even took a 4 hour nap on Sunday!)
After doing our cat duty on Sunday, and on Monday, I met my friend to finish putting together our Christmas in July (in Hawaii) for our TOPS meeting tomorrow night, I have been wearing myself out!
And, tomorrow, I plan to go help my sister move! Am I crazy or what?
What.

Summertime Blues

Wednesday, July 20, 2016
Sorry that I haven't bored you all with the desultory facts of my day-to-day life, but not much has changed, and I haven't been feeling all that well. Not sick, mind you, just not good - I'm sure it's the heat, even though most days I seem to be on the cold side instead. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense...
I haven't even been walking out to meet Ron in the afternoons, and I am SO seriously searching for new motivation for staying on this weight loss journey. I am satisfied with where I am (I met the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of this journey!), but I really should lose at least 25 more, and to be at or near my premium weight, I should lose around 75 more pounds. I'm pretty sure that's never gonna happen, but if I lose 25 more, I will be well under 200 and I will be one of the happiest people on the planet! But I have lost my motivation and can't find it. I have no goals now, having met the ones already set, except for getting under 200 - I did make it to 200.9! - and I just can't think of any others to light the fire...
With all my medical problems, I do wonder if I should even worry so much about the weight. I do eat so differently than I used to. We talked about that at the last TOPS meeting - about how each of us has learned (and changed) how to eat properly, how to eat good foods, how to eat within a certain calorie count, and to stay - make a lifestyle change, not be "on a diet" - on that path and not go back to the gluttonous ways.
Some of my medical problems will eventually cause weight loss "naturally" but I don't want to wait until then - by then, it will be too late! I must keep things in control myself.
I have been on this journey for over three years now, and I just don't know how to make it be fun and exciting anymore. It's really getting to be a chore and I don't like that. But what can I do?
I will persevere!
On the other hand, I have been doing my little bit in getting donations for the church, which, on the days I go out, takes the whole day. I have to go to the stores/shops/restaurants, park, go in, do my spiel, go back out, go to the next place, park, etc. over and over. It takes time and patience - and my back lets me know about it very quickly.
After the first go-round, I now just go back to see if "anything" has been decided (or to remind them that we'd still like a donation) and, most of the time, leave empty-handed. It is drudge work.
I hope you all have the evening of August 6th marked on your calendars to come up to the Pig Roast at St. Mary's Church in Bethel! Not only can you get a wonderful meal for very little money, you can also buy raffle tickets to place in buckets in front of the baskets I am working so hard to help put together! Raffle tickets are $1.00 apiece, 6 for $5.00, or 15 for $10.00.....see, you really get your money's worth, because there are at least 25 baskets! Something for everyone!
Please don't let all my work go to waste.....please....

This stuck-at-home week is over!
Tuesday, July 5, 2016 -
Thursday, July 7, 2016
The week after a holiday is usually quite boring, and this week was no exception. I didn't go anywhere during the day, and I only went to TOPS on Tuesday evening. It was not a fun week...until today.
Since I had done my Happy Homemaker stint on Monday, there wasn't a whole lot for me to do on Tuesday, so I spent the day in my recliner. That was a good thing, because it was a rainy day, and my back wasn't real happy all day, anyway. I had to put cream on my back twice - once when I first got up, and again around 5:00. I didn't walk out to meet Ron, either. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get very far.
I went to my TOPS meeting, though, sad as it was. I found that I had gained a pound, which wasn't surprising with the holiday and all. I was extremely glad that it was just one pound! Not very many showed up for this meeting so we just skimmed over the highlights and cut it short, too, which was fine with me. I went up to Arby's and got us their Chicken Salad (Ron a sandwich, me a wrap) for our supper. It was good, as always.
I didn't feel real well on Wednesday - just kinda blah. I didn't want to move - at all. I went from the bed to the recliner and that was that. I later found out that my sister had fallen during the day and my brother was having a rough emotional day - no wonder I didn't want to move! My psyche was being attacked! (We have always 'known' when something is going on with another one of us.) Again, I didn't walk out to meet Ron, and he was a little worried, but he understood once he got home.
He made one of his frozen Chinese things for his supper, and I had a pound of bacon. With a can of sausage gravy -- I thought that Corgan had left some of a Country Fried Steak here on Sunday, and that was what I was going to have with the gravy, but when I opened the box, there was only a bite left! Well, crap!! So, since I had already cooked the gravy, I just made the bacon and dipped it in the gravy. Different, but very tasty!
Thursday - I woke today to a wave of vertigo during a potty run. "No! No, no, no!" I thought/said/prayed, and went back to sleep. When I woke up later, it wasn't there - thank the good Lord! I had things to do today!
I left at 12:30, because I had to stop at McDonald's to pick up their donation for the church, then I went to meet others to make up baskets for the Pig Roast (at church, what all these donations are for) and the afternoon flew by....
I stopped at Gold Star for my lunch on the way home, having my Gorito and Chili Cheese Fries.
After Ron got home, he changed the tire on my car while I cooked some pork chops for our supper. He zapped some baked beans from the fridge to go with his, and I finally ate my pork chop around 8:30.
That was the big exciting day this week!
Tomorrow I am meeting a friend from TOPS for lunch to discuss our Christmas in July dinner (and entertainment) and then do my shopping, as usual on a Friday. No exciting plans for the weekend - we won't have Corgan, so I'm sure we'll just be staying home. Yippee Yi Ay.

Independence Day - the GREAT American holiday! Hope your weekend was fun, happy, and safe!
Ours was certainly eventful and busy. It was go, go, go - right up until today, the holiday itself.
Friday was a usual day for both of us. Ron went to work and I went down the road to do my shopping. The fun started that evening, though...
We were invited over to friends' for an evening of food, fun, and friendship, and we made arrangements to have Corgan on Saturday instead of Friday and went. I made my dish of Corn Salad as our contribution to the meal, and I brought home an empty bowl (I was happy!) so the others there all enjoyed it. We started to play a game of dominoes, but there were twelve of us and spent too much time talking, so we didn't get very far. We got home right around midnight, which is usual when us "church people" get together.
On Saturday, we went down to pick up Corgan. That was one of the concessions of giving up Friday night, you know - us driving down to get him instead of them driving him to us. We hung out a little bit, then the three of us headed back.
Once we got here, the guys went on outside to start mowing, weedeating, and all that. They had to get the outside ready for our big 4th of July party tomorrow night. I stayed in the house and started with getting the house ready, taking lots of breaks as I have to do. Between the cooking of the few things I was making and the 'company' cleaning I wanted to give the house, there was quite a bit to do!
Ron got tired on us and quit a lot earlier than either Corgan or me, and we decided to go sit out at a fire. It was a beautiful evening! He had also brought smoke bombs that he wanted to throw out and show off. We also picked a few strawberries from our plants and enjoyed those, too, while sitting out there. Eventually, Ron woke up and came out and joined us.
When we went back in, I wanted to continue working on cleaning the house - we still had vacuuming, mopping, dishes, etc. to do - but I got outvoted and convinced that we had plenty of time tomorrow between church and company. MEN!!
Sunday. Church and lunch, right? Yes, to start the day. At church, I received the Sacrament of the Sick (finally) and I felt so much better immediately. I've been waiting quite a while and thought this was going to happen a couple of weeks ago, and was confused because it had not happened. But now it has, and all is calm in my soul.
After church, we went out to lunch, and today we went down to the Barn after going to Walgreen's to pick up some prescriptions. Corgan enjoys going there, also, so we didn't have any arguments out of him, and that was good. Ron got his fried chicken, I got the Bacon Cheeseburger and fries, and Corgan got a Country Fried Steak with Cheesy Jalepeno Potatoes, and we all enjoyed our meals!
Then it was time to come home and clean, clean, clean like crazy - company coming, you know. We did get everything done, but, damn, did I need a break! Those fellers are slave drivers!
We forgot to stop at Bert's as we were supposed to, and Ron and Corgan went back over there and I managed to take a break while they were gone, but then, too soon, it was time for us to have everything done and just be ready.
Everyone finally started coming over and it was time for the party to start, and that's what happened - our big 4th of July celebration happened over the next few hours. We had a Change of Plans because rain moved in and the Pyro Boys had to do their thing rather quickly before total dark, just so everyone would not get absolutely soaked. It was a little different, but rather fun!
As a result, everyone left a little sooner than they did other years, but it was a good celebration. Bert spent the night, and Ron had to go to bed a little after 10:00, anyway. He was the only one who had to get up to go to work on Monday morning, poor guy.
...and our holiday celebration gets over. WhooHoo!! What fun!!
Monday. The actual 4th of July.
Ron went to work. I played Happy Homemaker, although Bert was here to talk to me.
Ron got home before noon - YAY!!
Talk, talk, talk all day. Bert left. Ron and I watched dead guys or game shows. WhooHoo!!
...and it's all over now.

What a week!
Here was my plan: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: go out and get donations for the Pig Roast. Tuesday and Thursday: stay home and play Happy Homemaker.
Yes, that was my plan. You know what they say...
I made arrangements with my friend Bert to take me around on Monday (just down 125), because Ron had to drive his truck that first day back after vacation. He took not only our garbage, but all of his stuff to put back in his truck that he needs day-to-day. With my car not having AC, it would be a bit rough (I'm a wussy, remember) doing the in and out, stop and go that getting donations requires. So that day went fine, and I got a few donations, and Teresa came and joined us for lunch at Olive Garden, too! We had a grand time! I left more letters at more places on the way home, but by then, managers had already left, and I didn't get good results.
Tuesday was my Happy Homemaker Day, as planned. During the day, I made another phone call to Verizon about my computer not working correctly, and finally - finally! - they said they would send me a new piece (the jetpack) since it was still under warranty. Since I couldn't get on my computer, she said it would be sent overnight, and all I'd have to do would be to take the SIM card out of the old one and put in the new one, and all would be fine. (I laughed to myself). I was SO glad that they were not having me "try" something else...
When I went to TOPS that night, I was very pleased to find that vacation hadn't ruined my weight-loss journey. I actually lost weight - a little over a pound and a half! 1.6 to be exact! <happy dance>
Wednesday went as planned, also, with Ron leaving his truck for me - yay, AC! - and I went over to Eastgate to get donations, having my almost perfect salad at Longhorn while asking for a donation there.
Bert and I were going to go to Kroger to use her fuel points for the month, but she didn't feel like going out today, though, so we had to put it off another day - which means I have to change my plans for tomorrow. Another trip down the road is now in the works.
When I got home, there was NOT a package on the doorstep, and no FedEx van/truck ever pulled in the driveway the rest of the day. So much for overnight...
Thursday. What a day Thursday has turned out to be! Not only was there the trip back down 125 that I didn't want to make, we find out that Rumpke has messed up Ron's vacation check once again. Every year they do this - why can't they pay the man correctly? We had to futz with them - a zillion phone calls, explaining the same crap over and over - and try to figure out just what the hell to do now. Luckily, it all got figured out, but what a mess!!
While this was going on, I was also meeting Bert and getting gasoline in Ron's truck for next week and then getting donations on the way home. And, when I got home, I DO have a package on the doorstep!! Hooray!!
I do what I am supposed to do - take the SIM card from the old jetpack and place it in the new one. Does it work, just like that? Hell, no. I end up calling Verizon again and spending over an hour on the phone with them before they figured out how to make it work. (Only me, right?) But, finally, it works and I can get on the computer again! I had fun doing all the things that I can only do on the computer and not on the tablet before going out and making Ron and I a good supper tonight. We have been having nice big salads for our suppers, but we've used up the veggies for this week, and I decided to make us little steaks with green beans. I also added mushrooms and onions to both. It was very good!
Once again, I'm going down 125 tomorrow - this time to do my shopping. I was going to stay home and play Happy Homemaker, but weekend plans have changed, so I'll do that on Saturday while the guys are working outside. Change of Plans - aren't they great!?

What a week!
Here was my plan: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: go out and get donations for the Pig Roast. Tuesday and Thursday: stay home and play Happy Homemaker.

Apologies - more computer issues and real life happened...

My computer has been giving me fits. I finally got the problem fixed, and now, it just freezes up every now and then - I never know when (of course) and I have to futz and futz with the mouse until it finally moves again. What A Pain!!
So, I'm not getting on the pute every day again -- and I sure miss writing my blog!
I have not been good these two weeks, especially this past week while Ron was on vacation. We quite enjoyed ourselves - in the food department!! - and didn't deny ourselves what we wanted or where we wanted.
My weigh-in at TOPS on the 14th was good - I lost 2.4 pounds that week - but my weigh-in this past week showed the result of my slovenness - I gained 1.4 pounds - and I'm sure next week will show a gain, also. You gotta pay the piper after you dance, you know. Blah!
Ron's vacation week was a very good week, though.
We started with having our Father's Day cookout on Saturday night. Ron and Corgan got the yard all ready while I did stuff in the house, making the Corn Salad that was the only dish I was making. When they all showed up with all the rest of everything, Ron started the grill and cooked the burgers and cheese weenies. Then he brought out the surprise of the evening - he had made ribs!
We spent an enjoyable evening together after the meal, playing some cards and then lighting a fire when it got dark enough.
On Sunday, Josh surprised Ron by wanting to come up and go fishing. So - they came up for the second day in a row. Jean didn't come with them this time, and they went fishing while I stayed here. They brought back all the leftovers they had taken home the night before and when the time came, that was supper.
On Monday and Tuesday, Ron got to go fishing more, with friends this time, and he also worked out in his garage, too, doing all the little things he never has time to do.
Our plan for Wednesday and Thursday was: On Wednesday, we will drive up to Eaton, OH to visit his half-sister and her husband for the day, then drive on over to "Amishville" (Holmes County, etc.) for the day on Thursday, driving home that night. Wednesday went according to plan, and we spent the day up there, having lunch at a Golden Corral (in Richmond, IN!), driving around looking at interesting things and visiting Hueston Woods, ending up back at their house to look at each other's pictures of vacations over the last few years. We finally left there around 10pm, and found a motel for the night. When we got up, we decided not to drive for over seven hours (three plus across Ohio, then four plus home) to spend four hours in Amishville, so we hit I75 South and eventually stopped at the casino (Miami Valley Gaming) at exit 29. As we usually do, we only got to stay in the casino a little over an hour - it doesn't take long for us to lose the little bit of money we take in with us!
Then we drove on toward home, stopping wherever we wanted to whenever we wanted to. We really had the whole day since we hadn't planned on being home until 9 or 10pm anyway. We looked into going to a movie, too, but nothing was showing that we wanted to see at the time we were there, so that was out. On to the next endeavor!
There had been terrible storms that morning across the area, and there were supposed to be more moving through this evening, so we decided to go ahead and head for home before any such storm started. And that was the end of the big getaway.
On Friday, we met our friends for lunch before Ron went up to get his check (and where he found out just how bad they had messed things up this week) and then Friday evening, we had Jean's birthday celebration. She turned 50 this year, but didn't want a big fuss made. We went down to Hibachi, then decided to come back here for hanging out around a fire. I got the big idea to stop at Save-A-Lot for ice cream on the way home, and when we did that, Ron's truck wouldn't start!! What? After all the vacation driving and driving down to Hibachi? We were so blessed that it happened right here in Bethel, if it had to happen at all! I called Josh and he stopped and tried to give it a jump, but that didn't work. Jean had driven on out here, and when we got here, Ron decided to take the battery out of Jean's truck since it was a side post battery and take it back up and see if that would start his truck. If it wouldn't, that meant it was the starter and not the battery.
Luckily, not too long later, both Josh's car and Ron's truck came pulling in the driveway! Whew!
So, now, on Saturday, one more errand to run was to stop and buy a new battery for Ron's truck. We just added it to the list of things to do on the way home from the 50th anniversary party we were going to down at Carrabba's.
The battery cost more than Ron thought it would - but, then again, he thinks things cost what they did back in the '70s - but it was okay, this was the best week for this to happen. I can do without AC in my car for a little while longer....sigh.
After all the errands on the way home, we just holed up here in the cool house for the rest of the day.
Today, Sunday, it was church and lunch, as usual. We didn't even go very far for lunch, either - we went to Gold Star! Then it was home to stay in the house all day again - it is so very hot outside already this year. And I am a wussy now.
Tomorrow I am starting my little job of going down the road and getting donations for baskets for a fundraiser for church. While I am glad to be helpful - and useful - I wonder sometimes why I am the only one who does this job. It doesn't take much to go into these places and ask a question. Oh, well - I'm glad to be known as being good at something!

Computer issues are a bite! Catching up now...

Saturday, June 11, 2016
Between these computer issues and me being my normal lazy self, these last couple of weeks have flown by!
Hopefully, though, I have gotten the computer issues straightened out (for now, anyway) and I can catch up on my blog. I can't remember each and every one of my boring days, but I can give you highlights ---
When I last left off, I was getting up early for the second day in a row, and YES, I succeeded in doing so. I did the errand that needed done in the truck, even though I was just basically a driver. I did do a little lifting and carrying, but not much. I do know my limits. I am glad to help out where I am able to...
Memorial Day weekend - what a weekend this was! Ron and I went out to lunch with Bert and Teresa on Saturday. Yeah, us "four girls," but Ron just doesn't how to sit and enjoy lunches like we do. We went to Golden Corral and he was ready to leave after we'd only been there for an hour! Silly man! We had to teach him a thing or two....
Then, on Sunday, after church, instead of going out to eat, we and other friends all went to Harry and Donna's house for a get-together. They had BBQ, brats and metts and we all brought side dishes and desserts, so we had a little cookout inside - it was too hot to have it outside! We spent the afternoon and early evening playing dominoes, which was a lot of fun with a dozen people playing, let me tell you! After heating things back up for our supper, we finished the game, then everyone went home and that was that.
Ron did have to work on Monday, the holiday, so we didn't have anything planned with the family. Josh texted later in the day, saying they decided to grill out, did we want to come? But since we had set our minds on not doing anything, we just stayed home. Ron didn't want to go carousing around - he was tired, even though he had gotten home much earlier than usual.
And the holiday was over, and the regular week began.
When I weighed in at TOPS on Tuesday, I lost almost half a pound, too! .4 to be exact, and I was glad to see that after the decadent weekend!
I spent the week working up at church getting ready for the Rummage Sale - I didn't push myself, but I was up there every day, and I emptied tons of bags of clothes and put them where they needed to be. Walk...walk...walk...walk...walk...walk. Thank God for my Australian Dream cream and Aleve! Thursday night was spent making and baking for the bake sale table, because I had to have stuff done "in the morning" and couldn't put it off any longer. Man, did my house smell good!!
Friday is the day of the Rummage Sale. I have other plans, then shopping the Sale, then working the Sale. Friday will be a long day.
Friday morning - a sisters and cousins lunch day!! Ruth, Jean, Veronica, and I were to meet here in Bethel, at Frisch's for our lunch, mainly for two reasons. One, Ruth wanted the breakfast bar and two, they all wanted to go to the Rummage Sale afterward. Well, it ended up being sisters and cousins and more lunch! Chelle decided to come with Jean (actually the other way around because Chelle drove Jean's truck - haha) and Veronica brought her daughter and granddaughter! We were a great party of seven instead of three! We had a grand time eating - everyone had breakfast but me, I chose lunch (Buddie Boy and chili) - then it was time to hit the Rummage Sale. We kept going back and forth to each other, showing off our finds. It was great fun!
As each left, we made promises to do this again, as we always do. I stayed there to work for a while, but they had plenty of help, so I ended up going home around 2:00 with the promise to come back around 5:00, so the ladies who had been there all day could go home (the Rummage Sale wasn't closing until 7:00) and that is what I did.
We had Corgan again this weekend, too. It happened a little bit different this time, though, because he went to work with his dad that day and his dad dropped him off. Josh texted me when they were leaving his work, and I let him know that I was home and not up at church, so he brought him here. When it was time for me to go back up to church, I left Corgan here. He knows the rules, and both he and I knew that Grandpa would be getting home soon, too.
At 6:30, those two came up on the motorcycle and looked around the Rummage Sale and found a couple of things (I knew they would), even though both had turned their noses up at the idea. Once we got the Sale closed down and all monies gathered, the three of us went up to Gold Star for our supper. I called Bert and, since she was up in Bethel anyway, she came and joined us.
On Saturday, I went to a little get-together for the 40th reunion for the Class of '76. We didn't really call it a reunion, just a get-together lunch at Campbell's Barn. There were supposed to be 30-35 people there, and there ended up being only 14. How disappointing! But, it was their loss, the ones who were there had a fantastic time! Talking, telling stories, showing pictures, and everything - I had brought my yearbook and my memory book, which had the last edition of the school newspaper in it, with me, and I think everyone enjoyed looking through them. We were there for about three hours, then people started drifting out, on to other pursuits for the evening, as did I.
I took the items that were left from the bake sale up to church to sell when Mass was over. I had to be there before Mass started, so that I could ask that the announcement be made that I was out there with the baked goods. The last little bit of money made could make all the difference in the world, you know! Besides that, what else would we do with the goodies?
Anyway, I sold just about everything and at the end was giving people a very good deal for their money!! We did an excellent job at the bake sale table this time around!
I came home and the whole family is here. Ron has supper started, and there is card playing going on until supper is done, so I just join in. Then, finally, supper is done and we all enjoy the pork chops, buttered noodles, corn, and peas.
They left to go home because Chelle has to work in the morning, and poof the evening is over.
Back to 'normalcy.' Better be careful, saying that word...
Yep.
Tuesday, when I woke, I had vertigo again. Whoa! Wave after wave - I could barely move all day long without my head moving in a different direction from my body. It was AWFUL!!
When Ron got home, we discussed whether or not I should go to TOPS. We finally decided that he would drive me to go weigh in and I would not stay for the meeting, and that's what we did. I swayed my way through my shower and getting dressed, and he drove me uptown. When I weighed in, I wished I had just stayed home - I gained this week! Only .6 of a pound, but still a gain. Phooey! Then we came back home, and that was that.
Wednesday and Thursday were more of the same, with the vertigo seeming to be better - it was still there, just not huge waves. Now it was more predictable, if I moved too fast or took a step backward, things like that. Still very weird that it has hung on so long, but it has, so I am dealing with it.
Ron doesn't want me to drive, so on Thursday night, I call Bert and ask her to chauffeur me around on Friday if she isn't doing anything and she said she will, because she has errands, too.
Friday is spent running errands and having lunch with Bert and Teresa. We went to Bob Evans and I had the wonderful Chicken Salad Plate, whcich is a plate of fruit with a blop of chicken salad (real chicken salad) in the center of it - and then pecans sprinkled on top of it all. Serious YUM!! I wish they had this all year....I could eat real healthy all year with NO problem!
I felt so much better, just knowing that I got things accomplished. What a weight off my shoulders!
Today, Saturday, Ron and I finished the errands that I didn't get done yesterday. He drove me over to Felicity, and we had lunch at the FeedMill - and, yes, both of us were bad. We both had sandwiches and fries. Then we went to IGA, did a spot of shopping, but they didn't have our ice cream!! How dare they!! Now what? Ai yi yi!
He's been outside mowing and weedeating all day - crazy man.
We did put the AC in the bedroom window, too, and the house is nice and cool now.
Oh - the best news of all this week?? I got a letter from Social Security - my hearing is scheduled!
August 3rd at 2pm. I am so relieved.
Praise be. \o/

Praise be. \o/

A pretty regular day and ... getting up
Tuesday, May 24, 2016 -
Wednesday, May 25, 2016
Side note: Vertigo is NOT my friend. No way, no time, no where.
I've woken up with vicious bouts of vertigo both of these days, and it is not pretty.
Tuesday was pretty much a regular day - after finally getting up after my tableting and reading, I ran uptown to do some errands. I went to Gold Star for my lunch while there, but I only ate one Gorito there because I was very aware that I had to weigh in tonight. I brought the other one home with me after all my errands were run.
I just sat in my recliner until I heard from Ron, then I walked out to meet him. And when I walked out to meet him, I took my walking stick with me. I was still that tired! I was determined to get some exercise in, though, so I did it. I didn't even make it to the curves this time. I guess the two times I stopped had something to do with that...
Back home, I just sat there until just before time to leave for my meeting, then I went out and cut some of my irises for everyone at the meeting to enjoy - and they did! When I weighed in, to my dismay, I found out that I have gained. Only .2 of a pound, but a gain nevertheless. I don't get it! All those salads....sigh.
I come back home and eat my other Gorito for my supper and that was it for the day. That's all I ate for the whole day - no ice cream, no peanuts, no nothing. I was disgusted.
I also got a text from my daughter-in-law. My grandson's award ceremony is tomorrow - at 8:30am. 8:30am!! Ye gods!! I told her I'd try, but I'm not promising....
Well, the alarms started going off this morning and I laid there trying to decide if I wanted to get up and do this or not. I finally made the decision that since my brain had started thinking, I might as well. I staggered my way into the shower and vertigoed my way through my shower. Oh, my, was that fun (NOT!)!! I don't know what is causing this, but it can quit any time now.
I managed to get dressed without falling over, and finally left only 10 minutes later than I had wanted to. I get to Corgan's school with five minutes to spare, thanks to construction on 52.
The award ceremony was great! The principals and teachers were wonderful to the kids, and Corgan got his awards - 4 or 5 of them - and Super Granny took a blue zillion pictures, at least half of which didn't turn out. After all the grades (5th - 8th) were done, we got to leave.
Chelle, Jean, and I went over to Maysville to grab a bite to eat and for Chelle to go to Walmart to get some stuff for them over the next couple of days. We went to Frisch's, where Jean got her fish sandwich with a salad and baked apples, Chelle got a chicken wrap with a salad and onion rings, and I got a Buddie Boy (with American cheese) and a cup of chili. See? I can be good!
I also stopped over there and put $10.00 worth of gasoline in my car, since it was 15 cents per gallon cheaper than over here in Ohio! Then I dropped them back off and came on home, where I went back to bed, though I never did get back to sleep.
When Ron texted me, I didn't walk out to meet him since I was expecting a phone call (that never came - maybe tomorrow). When he got home, he went out and finished mowing before the rain starts, since the ground is slowly drying up enough to drive the rider over.
Then he came in and we talked about supper. Neither of us really wanted salads tonight, even though it was so hot. Ron finally made himself some chicken salad, and I made myself some potato soup, and that was supper. We had our ice cream bars for dessert a little while later, and that was that.
Getting on the computer a bit later, I find out that a friend needs a truck tomorrow, so I ask Ron to drive my car tomorrow. He wasn't real happy about it, but as I explained, he understood and agreed. So, now, I have to get up again tomorrow morning and be in Georgetown at 9am. Ai yi yi!
Can I do this two days in a row? (Sure I can!)

Weekend, weekend, weekend!!
Friday, May 20, 2016 -
Monday, May 23, 2016
After my normal tableting and reading, I got up and went over to Felicity to get our real ice cream bars. Of course - you know me - while I was out, I had lunch. I had the loaded potato skins at the FeedMill Restaurant before doing my little bit of shopping. I also "stocked up" on the ice cream, buying three boxes of 'em, so that we have plenty in reserve and won't run out for awhile, as well as getting some of the 5/$20. meat (I love that stuff!) and some puff corn.
I got home and got the stuff put away, then just plopped in my recliner until Ron and Corgan got home. Then our fun evening started! Yeah, not really - just our normal Friday evening. Ron trying not to sleep but failing miserably, Corgan watching the TV (Mythbusters this week), and me either tableting or reading. Whee!
Saturday went a little differently than normal. I had to go uptown to get meat to make supper tonight for the whole family (the meat I get is only enough for me and Ron) and we decided to go to Subway for lunch. Well, Little Mr. Corgan had to go with me because I sure can't order his sandwich correctly all by myself, now can I? (Ha - the little turd forgot to put the banana peppers on it anyway!) That was certainly a surprise that he wanted to go uptown with me instead of staying home with Grandpa, but definitely okay with me. So, off we go. What a trip that was....
After we get back home - WAY later than I expected - and we're eating our lunch, Ron is extremely unhappy with them (the sandwiches) and so am I. They are nothing like what we used to get, and they are so much more expensive! I do believe that this is our last trip to Subway.
Ron and I were supposed to be going somewhere this evening, but now this family stuff is going to happen instead, so our plans are the plans that are changing. Phooey! Oh, well, it happens.
Then, for whatever reason, Jean decides not to come up with Josh and Chelle - which is fine, her choice, but kinda weird - and when Josh and Chelle come up after Chelle gets off work, showers and changes, the evening starts. I, helped by Corgan, had bought some small steaks to make for supper. I also got asparagus and spinach, and I made fried potatoes to go with it all. Fried potatoes! Yum!!
After supper, we all sat around the table and talked, then we got out the cards. We played Spades while Corgan finished his supper (he eats even slower than I do!), then we played Poker. Yes, we are making the gambler in that youngster grow! After that, we taught Corgan how to play Up and Down the River. He lost, but that's not a surprise when you're still learning the game - the surprise was that Josh won the game, not Ron! Usually Ron totally kicks everyone's ass at this game - everyone's.
Then they got things together - Chelle and Corgan both were getting tired - and left. There weren't too many leftovers for them to take home this time, though. We all had eaten like pigs!
When they had been gone for a little while, I asked Ron if he still wanted to go over to where we were planning to go earlier. That event was going to be going on for awhile yet, and it would be no big deal if we came in late. He said no, he was too tired. (He is getting old!) I asked him if he minded if I went, and we discussed it for a bit, and finally, he agreed that I could go but I had to be extremely careful, etc., etc. I went to change my clothes because I might be outside, and off I went!
I spent a very relaxing hour/hour and a half with my old classmates and friends, listening to the band and dancing in my chair (I don't dare chance really dancing on a dance floor yet!) and talking to people and all. It was a great time! The band played until midnight, and me and the friend I was talking the most with both left around 12:30, with me getting home around quarter til one. It was an interesting way to end my evening, let me tell you!
Sunday. Church and lunch. Not today! Well, they both happened, but again, not as planned. We were going to go to Amelia after church today because we were getting an oil change for Ron's truck and then going shopping, and all that is in Amelia. But we saw, and talked to, friends at church, and they were going to Country Inn up in Georgetown, joining other friends, and invited us to join them, too. So....change of plans, once again. We went to Georgetown for lunch - well, Ron had lunch (chicken livers) and I had the big breakfast - and, about two hours later or so, we finally headed down to Amelia for the oil change.
We're sitting there in the stall ("bay," they call it) and we can hear them talking. "This is the last filter," one says. We look at each other. Uh-oh. They are bustling around, doing the things they do and then POOF they aren't doing anything. What's going on? Ron looks up from his DS and I look up from my book and we both look around. Finally, one dude comes to the window. "We only had one filter to fit this truck and when he was putting it on, he dropped it. It hit the ground and has a big dent in it. We have to run down to the parts store to get another one. We're sorry about your wait."
He goes away, then comes back. "Let me have your receipt. I'll give you $15.00 off your next visit." I laugh and say, "That's good, because we're planning to bring my car next week!" and then we get to talking about what kind of car my car is - he wants to make sure they have the proper filters for it, he says - and other little stuff. I'm thinking - why isn't someone ordering filters?
We finally get out of there and go get the grocery shopping done and make it home right around 4:30. 4:30! What a day!
We collapse into our recliners and that's it for a great long time. I finally stir around 7 or so to make us some supper (more steak (remember, Jean didn't show up yesterday) and potatoes (I mashed these) with some corn), but it was all easy to make and didn't take long. Then, for some reason, I didn't feel well and went to bed around 9:30.
Monday was my Happy Homemaker Day. Although I was fighting dizziness and/or vertigo all day, I got my dishes (ye gods, were there dishes!) done and I also did a load of laundry and swept the kitchen floor, too.
When Ron texted me, I rushed and got dressed, then walked out to meet him. I got past the halfway mark, too. I even made it past the little white house! I didn't make it to the big farm house, but it was a real nice walk today.
When we got home, we made our big ol' salads and that was our supper, and then it was dead guys for the rest of the night. Yep, exciting life.
No plans for tomorrow until time for my TOPS meeting. Hoping for more good news, what with all this salad eating...
