HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
My day started early, with the alarm going off at 8. EIGHT! Double and triple ugh! After hitting snooze a couple of times, I dragged my lazy ass up and got into the shower. (It didn't help much to wake me up.) As I was sitting there taking my drugs - yeah, I know, I did things backassward - my sister came in, so I guess I timed things pretty well. I finished lotioning and got dressed, then brushed my teeth and finished getting ready, and then we hit the road.
We made our way downtown, only getting lost trying to find a place to park, which was easily remedied by turning around and turning right instead of left. Hurray!! We get in, she signs in, and the waiting starts. Get this - they give her one of those little light-up things like you get in restaurants! She was called twice, via her little light-up thing, once for paperwork and once for a weigh-in, before truly being called for her appointment. Yes, her appointment was at 10:30 and she wasn't called back until 12:15. Talk about a wait! I wish one of us would have realized that this was a clinic (or a clinic setting) and we would have gone in with a different set of mind. And, oh my, those chairs! My back was not happy with me at all. I got up and walked around as much as I could, but I didn't want to (very much) because of our stuff in the seats.
She finally came back out, made her appointment for the extractions (December 15th), and we got to leave. I got more lost trying to leave than I did getting there! I didn't realize that I could turn left onto MLK and thought I had to go up another block - big mistake - and ended up going all the way up to WHTaft, turning right, going up to Auburn, then the way I know home. Jiminy Christmas! It was a long way around, but it finally got us going in the right direction.
We got into Anderson, and decided to stop at Applebee's for our lunch. She had never been, and I was ready for something different. We shared a "2 for 20" (it was actually 2 for 25 - they have those, too) and really enjoyed ourselves. She had a shrimp meal, and I had a chicken with mushrooms & stuff and red potatoes, and both meals, of course, came with a side salad - which were huge. It was well worth the money.
We got to my house, and she left to get on home, since she was already later than she thought she was going to be, and she has to go trick-or-treating with Corgan tonight.
I played on the pute until Ron texted me, then I walked out to meet him, even though it was still drizzling cold rain. I didn't get very far today - he didn't give me much warning because of the rain. He didn't think I'd want to walk, but I did.
He and I went to Felicity to the FeedMill for our supper. Unfortunately, it was still trick-or-treat over there and was a bit crazy, but we survived.
I came home and made the rest of the cookies I needed to make for church tomorrow night, and now here I am.
I did not put my food in MFP, but I did put in my exercise. I didn't want to look it all up - I was being lazy.
TOPS rally tomorrow. I must be uptown at 7am. UGH. Then church tomorrow night. Busy, busy, busy.

An interesting beginning, a normal ending
Thursday, October 30, 2014
I got up this morning to the alarm blaring in my ear at 9:00. Ugh. I dragged myself up, took all my drugs, got myself dressed, and got uptown to meet my friend at the funeral home, and I even got there before she did. Yay, me.
After the (harrowing) meeting, I came back home, got undressed - back into my housedress, people! - and spent the rest of the day playing on the pute, doing my exercises (I stretched them out...haha), even riding the stationary bike for a couple of minutes and playing on my tablet. I did read a little bit, too. I ate my lunch at 12:30, and it was a tough decision as to what I wanted. I wanted something different, because it was just a kind of a restless day, with not a household chore in sight. Well, they were in sight, but I overlooked them. I'm very good at that. I finally decided on a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant, only it ended up being a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. There is a sticker over the word 'bacon' and I got the wrong box. Man! I hate when that happens.
I got ready - yes, I got dressed again - at 4:30, so when Ron texted me, I could head right out to meet him. He texted me at quarter after 5, saying that he would be late (once again). Damn fools had sent him out again after 4! Oh, they make me so mad sometimes! He finally texted at 6 (about 3 til...seriously) that he was on his way home, so I got my gym shoes on and took off walking. I made it almost to the half mile before meeting him.
I had not started supper, because I didn't know what time he'd be coming, or whether or not we'd have to be going up to the bank, or just what was going to happen when he got home. But, luckily, he had managed to get his check cashed, so we didn't have to go anywhere, and I started making a pan of Hamburger Helper for our supper. It meant we'd eat a little later, but that's okay. We're used to that. We watched Quantum Leap while supper was cooking. I also had a sugar low while making supper - how weird that was - and had to eat a nut bar (I didn't have time to go back into the bedroom for my jelly beans) but all worked out okay.
I then watched Bones at 8:00, then turned on the football game, and here we are.
Putting my food and exercise in MFP, I ended up just under 50 short for the day. Not much, but I'll take it!
Big day tomorrow! I get to drive downtown to take my sister to an oral surgeon for extractions. Whee! Her appointment is at 10:30, so we'll be going early. She won't want to stop on the way home, I'm not even sure if she'll be able to, and I'm not sure how she's getting home after that. That might be fun. We'll have to see. It's bound to be a fun day, isn't it?

A getting-stuff-accomplished day! I like those!
Wednesday, October 29, 2014
For some strange reason, I stayed awake after Ron left this morning. Guess what I did? I laid there, on my bed, and played on my tablet! I caught up my Scrabble and Word with Friends games, anyway - nothing more than that - but that was pretty cool, to lay in bed and play my games. I did go back to sleep, then woke up around 10.
I got up after reading a bit, then got things accomplished here in the house. I got all the dishes in the dishdrainer put away. I got the rest of the laundry hung up, and the load of towels that were still in the dryer folded and put away, too! I was feeling pretty good about myself, getting these things done. If you know me, you know housework is not something I do - or like to do - very much, and for me to do it 2 days in a row is really something else.
I played on the pute for a bit, then got myself ready and left at 12:30 for my 'lunch' meeting, which was gonna happen at 2:00. I drove through the post office first, mailing things that should have been mailed last week, if not earlier, and then I stopped at IGA to pick up a couple of things for my friend Bert's mom. I wanted to drop these off to her as I drove down the road, which is why I left so early, and I did so. She was glad to get her loaf of bread before lunchtime! She thought I wasn't going to drop the stuff off until on my way home. I had a nice little visit with her, then I went on down the road, getting to Bob Evans about 1:20.
I was going to eat my lunch before Pam got there, because the last time we 'talked' (IMs), she had said that she wasn't going to be able to have lunch, just have the meeting. I had just ordered and the waitress walking away, when here came Pam walking around the corner. That was a nice surprise! She said that she had gotten off work sooner than expected, so had decided to eat lunch also - one of those great Change of Plans - and that was why she was there so early. I'm glad it worked out so good for her. She placed her order, then we started in on our meeting. I have decided to go ahead and have a 31 party - a catalog party, not one here at my house - and I also had some trading of some other stuff that I had already purchased to do. We did the trading first, and then we got to the nitty-gritty of the setting-up-of-the-party. (If you want details, please let me know. I'll put it on Facebook, but I'll also TELL people if they call or text me.) I hope I do okay, because I'm really doing this for the free stuff, you know! I'm on a very strict budget for Christmas this year. Hahahahaha.
Anyway, the waitress brought our food - my country fried steak and eggs with potatoes and banana nut bread and her biscuits and gravy with potatoes - and we had stuff spread all, and I mean ALL, over the table! We scooted stuff to the side enough so she could place the plates right on the very edge. We had to finish things up, so that our food didn't get too cold on us, and we had a nice visit, just chit-chatting (I went to school with Pam) while we were eating. When we got done eating, we went back and finished up the business, then we were done and she left.
As I got up to leave, I saw Jeanne, who is Donna Lunsford's daughter. She is being pulled in twenty thousand different directions trying to set up her mother's Memorial Mass and is getting no help from the people she's supposed to be getting help from, or from her family. I told her, once again, that I will help her, since I went through all of this not so long ago. She finally asked me if I would join her at the funeral home tomorrow morning, because she was (is) pretty sure that it's not going to be a very (easy, smooth, relaxing) nice experience. I finally saw her into her car, and I headed for home.
I got home and did my exercises after catching up on my games on the pute. Since I was already dressed, I just had to put my gym shoes on when Ron texted me. I walked more than a half mile, but didn't quite make it to what we call our half mile marker (the pole with the signs on it) when he showed up, or caught up to me, or however it should be worded. Once again, I was pretty proud of myself today - I don't usually get that far!
We got back home, and got right into watching Quantum Leap episodes, since we had until 9 to watch them tonight. (Did I tell you we watched the episode where "Stevie" helped with the haunted house in Maine? At the end of it, his mom picked him up, and the leading lady calls, "Bye, Mrs. King!" and Sam about has an egg!! It was very cool to pick up all the books that were represented in that episode...) We paused once, between episodes, to make our supper. I opened 3 cans of tuna, boiled eggs, chopped onions, etc., and made a big ol' bowl of tuna salad. I made it with Miracle Whip (which is MY way), then got myself a small bowl out, and sat Ron's mayo (Hellman's) out on the counter so he could soup the rest of it up, and that was his supper. Then, at 9, I watched Criminal Minds, and then it was time to get back on the pute.
I put my food and exercise in MFP, and I came in under on my calories. Less than 50, but under! So, once again, that was an accomplishment for the day - I'll take it!
No plans for tomorrow except for helping Jeanne at the funeral home. I certainly hope that goes well enough. I know it will be rough (how can it not?), but...

Pushing...pushing...pushing...for that small reward
Tuesday, October 28, 2014
I woke today around 9:30, and read for just over an hour, then got up and jumped right into Happy Homemaker mode. I started a load of laundry (regular clothes), and then also started doing the weekend dishes. As the day went on, I got things cleaned up around here, as well as getting all of the laundry in baskets that was sitting around put away, and the dishes all put away as they dried.
I ended up doing 2 loads of regular clothes (yeah, it'd been a while) and a load of towels. I also got all the dishes done, and got the living room cleaned up and most of the laundry put away. I ran out of hangars and had to stop hanging the clothes. Not sure how I'm gonna finish the last load, but I'll figure something out.
I did stop for some lunch and playing on the pute. I actually made myself chicken salad sandwiches today, which I ate with a serving and a half of walnuts. It's been a long, long time since I've had a sandwich here at home. I even went ahead and put my lunch in MFP, so I knew how much supper I could have. I went ahead and put my exercise in MFP too, since I was doing it during it during the afternoon. The only one I didn't put in was walking out to meet Ron, because I wasn't sure if I was going to or not. It all depends on whether or not it is raining at that time, and it has been raining off and on all day.
I was in the shower when Josh stopped by after work, and we compared notes about our new tablets. I couldn't tell him a whole hell of a lot that he didn't already know, but our talk was interesting. They are using theirs WAY different than I am using mine! One big difference is that I turn mine OFF - totally off - when I'm not using it.
Ron pulled in just as Josh was leaving - yes, he had texted me, but I responded that I wasn't walking out. It wasn't because of the rain, it was because Josh was here! So, I was glad that he was home, but kinda sad that I wasn't getting my walk in. Oh, well. Sometimes time with my son is a little more important, right?
After Josh left, I went ahead and got dressed for my TOPS meeting (I had put on a housedress - chill!), then just piddled around, making Ron his cabbage steaks for him to cook for his supper while I was gone, as he does on Tuesdays, and playing on the pute until time to go.
I got to my meeting and weighed in. Man, it was close! I did lose weight - .4 of a pound - whew! I was glad to see a loss, let me tell you. But less than half a pound? Wow. But, I'll take it! The meeting was very interesting, too, not our normal stuff. It was a good meeting.
I got home, and Ron had his supper done. He fried me a couple of eggs, which I ate with one slice of bread to clean up the yolk. I then ate 3 of my kisses from the freezer as dessert - I knew that I had enough calories to do so.
When I got back on the pute and put my supper in MFP, I still had calories left, so I put in for a snack of dry roasted peanuts(for a bedtime snack) and I still ended up around 25 calories short for the day! Yay, me!
I have a lunch meeting tomorrow with Pam, and I will have more details after that about my "catalog party" for 31 (purses, totes, etc.). I'm not having a party here at my house, just online, although I will take orders and give to Pam if I need to. I'll know more tomorrow, and will pass the details on to you. I'm angling for free stuff for Christmas, you know! I will appreciate any and all help....

Church, lunch, football. A Sunday in Fall.
Sunday, October 26, 2014
I woke up at quarter til 9 this morning, which is good, because the alarm goes off at 9. I can't believe that I beat the alarm on a Sunday morning - that's one for the books! I got myself into the shower, and believe it or not, when I got out, the alarm was in the bedroom blaring away. I don't know why Ron did not turn it off, but he didn't. Men! I marched in there, dripping wet, and slapped Snooze, then marched back to the bathroom to dry off. (And, yes, he was laying there in the bed staring at me as I did so.)
I got myself dried, then brushed my teeth and did all I could to waste time in the bathroom before going back in the bedroom, but I still got back in there before the alarm went off again. I then lotioned and dressed and got ready for the day. I wore my new T-shirt today - the one with the Bengals football helmet in the shape of Ohio - but I had to wear a long-sleeved shirt under it. It was a bit chilly this morning, although the sun was shining.
I had a bit of an upset stomach, but thought that, with time (and food), it would take care of itself.
After church, we went to Amelia and had lunch at Campbell's Barn. Ron had the mushroom-n-Swiss burger with onion rings, and I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries that I usually get. As we passed my brother's place, I texted my sister-in-law and tried to get them to come join us, but he was a buttmunch and was convinced he'd miss the game if he did. Silly boy - doesn't he know that we AIM to be home to watch the game? I aggravated him for a bit, and am going to do my best to talk him into meeting us next week! We shall see.
As usual, though, when we go to Amelia, I missed kickoff. I got home about quarter after 1.
After that, it was football and texting Josh all day. We had a great fun day, what with him being such a Ravens fan, and me with my Bengals. I think we were both on the edge of our seats! It was a very good game, but I ended up happier than he did!
I did have to take antacids because I still had that upset stomach, but I'm not gonna stress about it. It happens every now and then. It just isn't very comfortable.
I only missed 3 games all day, less than both Josh and Ron, but I have NO chance of winning the pool this week. Bummer. That would have been nice - and a big help!
My stomach still isn't right, but I made myself a bowl/can of chicken noodle soup - super duper hot - and ate that for my supper. I'm ready for it to be halftime of this night game, so I can go to bed! It's an action-packed game, though!
Putting my food in MFP, I was not surprised to be way over - as in 150 calories - on my calorie count. And that's on the 1200 calories, not just the 1000. No exercise whatsoever on a Sunday, so I got no help in that department. Ah, well. Sunday is only one day of the week.
OH - I also found out today that one of my friends suffered a hemorrhagic stroke last night, was taken to the hospital, then transferred to a hospital downtown (for surgery). They then decided that the surgery would be fatal, so it was decided against, and as soon as the family has gathered, she will be taken from all breathing apparatus and it will be in God's hands. Please pray (send good vibes, thoughts, whatever you do) for peace for Donna, and comfort for Jeanne, her daughter, and the rest of the family. Thanks.

Thanks.

What a day! I love free stuff!
Saturday, October 25, 2014
Ron and Corgan let me sleep in today, as they usually do on Saturdays, and I woke up a little after 10. I read for a little while, then got up and checked our banking on the pute and just piddled around here in the house.
I even remembered to do my weigh-in! Although, to be fair, I wish that I had forgotten. The Wii told me that I had gained a little - less than a pound - but still a gain. Phooey! I have mixed feelings about that. I have been sticking pretty well to my diet - between 1000-1200 calories per day - and the only day I didn't do my exercises was Tuesday. That's a little disheartening, but I did indulge yesterday, going to Crackhead Barrel and all - even though I was within my calorie count (the higher end). So.....what now?
I went out and asked Ron if he wanted to walk, and he said he would as soon as he was done with the tires on his truck. I was in the house waiting for him, and he was outside waiting for me, and we didn't get the walk in before Josh and Chelle pulled in. We were both sniping at each other for not telling the other, but evidently we both misunderstood that the other was waiting. Ah, married life!
Josh, Chelle, and I went on down the road to do our bit of arguing with Verizon. Not that we were looking forward to it, but it needed to be done if we wanted answers to our questions. We got down there and had to wander around the store for about 20 minutes before it was 'our' turn and a salesman came calling our name. We explained our first question, and he played around on his tablet, searching for an answer, which he gave us, and then we got into more complicated questions and then the fun started. Between my account, which is Josh's family's phones, and Josh's account, which is mine and Ron's phones, we confused the hell outta that poor guy! Once he got his brain around that, he more understood our questions and could then answer them better. It also turned out that both of our accounts were eligible to receive - IF we were interested - free tablets. Since we all have tablets on our Christmas lists, we were interested and asked for more details. With this offer, not only are the tablets themselves free, but the fee usually charged every month will also be credited off - how about that!? Well, we bit. I'm hoping that it's going to work out for us - this offer sounds like it's one of those "too good to be true," but we couldn't see any way that it can't be good. Time will only tell now. Josh and Chelle finished up their business (Chelle got a new - upgraded - phone) and we left, going to meet Ron and Corgan at Hibachi Grill. Ron had stayed home to work on Josh's car. Ron had thought he would be able to fix the headlight all by himself, but Josh told him that from what he had researched, it was a little more complicated.
Yes, I let them win that little to-do, because it was the only way Ron would come down the road and join us. I had texted Ron when my business was concluded, thinking that theirs wouldn't take too very long. In the end, though, Ron and Corgan got to Hibachi before we had left Verizon, and they had to wait for us. Poor babies. We got to leave Verizon finally, and - miracle of miracles - when I went to pull out, there were red lights on both sides and there was NO traffic whatsoever, and I made that left turn out with no problem at all! None. Wow! I sent a fervent "Thank You!" heavenward, because I wasn't looking forward to that left turn at all, let me tell you. We went on to Hibachi and had a wonderful late lunch/early supper. We looked at, and played with, our new 'toys' a little, but couldn't do a whole lot with them there.
We headed back home, where Ron and Josh were going to work on Josh's car, since it turned out that Josh was right about his car - Ron couldn't get it by himself. I stopped at WalMart for a few groceries, and since I was by myself, I took my time walking through the store and all. When they got here, they had to do it together. It turned out to be a doozy of a job! I got here, got the groceries carried in, then, as it was starting to get dark, Chelle, Corgan (on his bike), and I went for a walk - the walk Ron and I didn't get this morning - down Hoover Road. I walked all the way to our half-mile point, and came back - slowly, but I made it!
As I put my food in MFP, I knew I'd be over, even with the exercise to counter-balance some of the Chinese buffet, but I didn't do so bad - I was only over by 49 calories! I'll take that!
So, all in all, I'd say it was a very successful day. A long, tiring, but eventful day.
And Sunday is for relaxing.

A busy, busy, Busy day today
Friday, October 24, 2014
Boy, was today ever busy!
I got up with the alarm blaring in my ear, which surprised me - I thought I'd be awake before it went off, but I wasn't, so BEEP BEEP BEEP started my day. Ugh!
I did get right up, got my shower, got lotioned and dressed, and headed on out. I had a full schedule, and I had all my stops written down so I wouldn't forget any. I left home about quarter after 10.
Stop 1 - Bank, here in Bethel. Made the deposit for the Altar Society (I'm only about 3 weeks late doing this...)
Stop 2 - Doctor's office, in Milford. I got a letter from the DMV for Doc to fill out, saying that it's okay for me to drive (because of the diabetes).
Stop 3 - Cemetery, in Milford. I don't get over to Milford very often, so I like to stop in here when I do.
Stop 4 - Crackhead Barrel, in Milford. FOOD! I dithered between breakfast and lunch, then really went with lunch today, getting chicken-n-dumplings, hashbrown casserole, and green beans.
I was treated very special today, too, and was seated right smack-dab in front of the fireplace! Oh, man, did it feel good!
Stop 5 - Physical Therapy, in Eastgate. Oh, Happy Day!! The therapist and I decided, after discussion, that there was no real advantage for me to come over to PT instead of doing the exercises at home, and she went ahead and released me. I only had 4-6 weeks scheduled anyway, and this was my 4th visit, so it was okay with me! I can continue doing the exercises at home, and IF I need to, I can come back to finish. Released! Yay!
Stop 6 - Western-Southern, in Beechmont. I had to stop and pay our premium. Not a big deal, except I forgot they were on the 2nd floor, and there is no elevator. Fun! (not.) But - I got it done!
Stop 7 - Walgreens, in Amelia. I just drove through, picking up prescriptions. Side note: On the way past, I noticed that there was only ONE car in the bays at Tire Discounters, so...
Stop 8 - Tire Discounters, in Amelia. It was past time for my 5,000 tire rotation, and I had told Ron that the next time I had time, I would stop and get it done. Well...since they weren't busy, why not?
Stop 9 - Josh's work, between Amelia and Bethel. We needed to talk about our big trip to Verizon tomorrow. That's gonna be Fun! (not.), too.
Stop 10 - Bank, here in Bethel. This is a different bank than the one I stopped at this morning, and for a different reason. I stopped here to find out why our house payment check has not cleared the bank yet. That is a little worrisome.
I then got to go home. It was only 4:30, and I was glad to get in a little bit of rest before Ron texted me to come walking out to meet him. I played on the pute while waiting for him, and at 5:30, I was starting to get worried. Next thing I know, here he is pulling in the driveway! He said he was going to change his shoes and walk with me, instead of me walking alone out to meet him. I told him that he was crazy - he just worked all day! But, he changed into his gym shoes, and we walked. We walked to the half-mile mark and turned around and came back. As we were on 133 coming home, Josh and family pulled into the driveway! That was some pretty good timing, wasn't it? They were dropping Corgan off before going shopping, and it all worked out pretty well.
Then, I left home at ten til 7 to go to a 31 party in Mt. Orab, It was being given by an old school friend, and was scheduled to start at 7:30. I found her house easy enough, and it was great fun! Of course, I spent more money than I should have, but it's for a good cause and will cause <snicker> much joy in Gatlinburg. I snacked on some vegetables and a couple pieces of fruit, which stood in place of my supper.
I got home just before 9:30, and wasted no time in undressing (bra, be gone!) and totally relaxing.
FINALLY.
After 12 hours, I can relax. My day is over.
And, yes, MFP hollered at me. Once again. Even after putting in for a popcorn & milk snack. Oh damn well.
Tomorrow, Josh and I get to go argue with Verizon. Fun! (not.), as stated above. I'm hoping that I can talk him and Chelle to go to Olive Garden for food when we are done, but they were resistant to that idea today. I think they are thinking Hibachi. We shall see who wins this battle!

Living with the aching back - yep!
Thursday, October 23, 2014
I woke this morning, still with the ache in my back, even though there is no rain in the forecast. This is NOT a good thing. It makes me be a little worried about how the winter is gonna be for me. I am not looking forward to this, let me tell you!
On a happier note, I got a "Good Morning" text from my brother in Kansas, and that was a nice surprise. I don't know why he decided to do that, but it put a smile on my face. Of course, it also reminded me that I am not able to be in Kansas this weekend for the wedding, but that is unavoidable, so I can't - can't - let that bother me.
After reading a bit, I got up and got right into our financial crap, and what a pile of crap it is. But I got it all sorted out, after a couple of breaks - one for lunch (a sausage, egg & cheese croissant) and one just to play on the pute and do my exercises - so my brain wouldn't be fried from thinking of all this. I think we're going to get through this month. Nothing that more money wouldn't help with, but we'll be okay. We will get the most important things paid, and that's what matters.
When my cell phone alarm went off, I stopped for a while (I was mostly done, anyway) and got myself dressed and ready, waiting for Ron to text me that he was on his way home. When he did text, I walked out to meet him, and then I went uptown to make our deposit and go to dumb ol' IGA. While I was in IGA, I got us a pepperoni-and-mushroom pizza for our supper. It was only 8 bucks, and I figured it was a cheap enough supper, and I was in no mood to try to figure out something to cook.
Getting home, Ron helped me carry in the groceries, and we ate our supper while watching Quantum Leap. Then I turned on the football game and finished up, and cleaned up, the financial crap from the kitchen table. I can do nothing else tonight, but I have some phone calls to make and errands to do tomorrow and Saturday!
I put my lunch in MFP, but I didn't go back to put my supper in. I just didn't. Not sure why - I know there is pizza in there. Oh, well. It sure was good!

A blah day....just blah
Wednesday, October 22, 2014
I didn't wake up today until after 11. That was really strange, but I sure enjoyed the extra sleep! I didn't feel like I had slept that much - as a matter of fact, I didn't even feel as though I had slept much at all! How weird is that? I did read for a little bit, then got up.
But I didn't feel like doing much. My back was aching, and when I walked, my back creaked. So I did as little as possible. Sitting hurt. Laying hurt. Standing hurt. It was weird. Usually, once I start doing stuff, it gets better, but not today. Nevertheless, I did do a load of laundry (towels) and I put away the dishes that I did yesterday. But that was it - I didn't do anything else productive.
After playing on the pute for a bit while eating my lunch of my shit-on-a-shingle (tuna in potato soup, remember), I went and lay in bed for a bit until that hurt too bad, then I sat on the bed and wrapped a few Christmas gifts. But I couldn't do that very long, because with no support for my back, I just couldn't sit there that much. I felt so unsettled!
Josh stopped in while I was doing the wrapping (glad I got his done!) and that gave me the opportunity to walk around a bit, talking to him and all. He has a headlight out on his car, and was hoping that his dad was home already to help figure out how to change it. Don't we all wish! I had no idea that it was that late already, but, of course, Ron was not home yet. He (Josh) didn't hang around very long, and soon got on his way.
As those things go, Ron got home about half an hour or 45 minutes later. He called Josh to talk to him about the car and they figured something out. He and I then watched Quantum Leap until time to make some supper.
Ron made our supper tonight, because he said that he could tell I wasn't feeling very good. I LOVE that man! He made me a couple of eggs and a couple slices of toast, and he made himself a couple of eggs, and fried some bologna to go with them. I think that he made himself sandwiches, but I couldn't swear to it. I also ate 5 Dove Dark Chocolate Kisses for a dessert. We watched QL until a little after 8:30, then he went to take his shower, and I just played on the pute until time for Criminal Minds.
Now, here I am back on the pute, and he is snoozing over there in his chair. I think I'm going to go to bed early tonight, though. If you call 11 early. I'll probably still read for a while, but....who knows?
I put my food (no exercise today) in MFP, and I was over 200 calories short for the day. Yep, I got hollered at again today. I should have put in for a snack, but it was all I could do to make myself eat supper - I sure don't feel like eating a snack.
Tomorrow I get to work on finances - figuring out what bills get paid this week. Whee!

Getting on through the week....damn, it's hard!

I went to bed last night SO upset and discouraged. It just seems that Ron and I will never, ever get anywhere near the light at the end of the tunnel. We won't even get a little bit of help to get us through a tough week, and I can't help but wonder what we are doing wrong, why do seemingly total worthless people sit on their asses and get things handed to them, and we just need some help, and we get...nothing.
But, finally, I just came to realize that, once again, we must pull ourselves up by the bootstraps, tighten our belts, and <insert your own cliche here>, and - eventually - we will climb out of this deep, dark hole that we are in. I thought we were starting to climb up the sides a bit, but the steps weren't anchored good enough and pulled out of the walls, and we are back to ground zero - or so it seems. I am just so frustrated.
When I woke this morning, that feeling was still hanging over me, and I had to push myself to even get out of bed. I just didn't want to, but I knew that would solve nothing. I couldn't even read last night (do you know how rare that is??), and I let myself read for a little longer than usual before I got up, but then I did get up and get working here in the house, which is the only thing I can control right now. I did our yesterday's dishes, using the largest dish as my sink, and then I mopped (Swiffered) the kitchen floor, too! I also tried riding the stationery bike, too, but I could only manage to do 2 minutes on it (and, yes, that made me feel sooooo good, too <yes, sarcasm>), but at least I got back on the damn thing finally. I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich for my lunch, since I was feeling a little chilly - which I never did shake all day - along with a banana.
After playing on the pute for a bit, I did my exercise repertoire. I felt good about my chances about having a good weigh-in tonight at TOPS, but who knows? I thought I'd gained last week and I hadn't!
I got my shower at 4, because I wanted to be dry and warmed back up before Ron texted me, and I sure wanted to be ready by then. Josh stopped in to drop off this week's football slips, and we visited for a few minutes, then he hit the road again. I still hadn't heard from Ron, so that was good. Then, almost 5:30, he calls - not texts - and he is getting ready to go in for his yearly evaluation. Finally!! It was only due on September 9th....
In the end, he didn't text me until after 6, and by then, I couldn't walk out to meet him, because I leave for my meeting at 6:30. So, he came on home and showed me the evaluation papers and the results. Yay, Ron! That made my heart a little happy. If only they could have done this 6 weeks ago, though, it would have helped considerably. But - beggars can't be choosers, right? We are happy to be receiving it now. It will - WILL - help. We'll start building those steps up the side again.
I went to my meeting, and weighed in. I gained! Only .2 of a pound, but still a gain. Phooey!
I got home after the meeting, and Ron had supper done - hamburger patties, pinto beans, and chunked tomatoes (the last of the orange tomatoes) and boy, did it smell good when I walked in!
We ate supper while watching NCIS and NCIS: NO and I also had 3 Dove Dark Chocolate Kisses for a dessert. I haven't done that for a while, and it sure sounded good, and it tasted REAL good!
I put my food and exercise in MFP, and I was about 175 calories short for the day. Of course, MFP hollered at me. Sigh. I thought about putting in a snack - another snack - but I didn't. I just took the chastisement. Might as well.
We'll see what I can get into tomorrow.

...and the 'work week' begins again
Monday, October 20, 2014
I didn't sleep well last night. Even with taking a sleeping pill, I never fell into 'real' sleep, I just kinda kept dozing, instead of falling over the cliff, per se, into full sleep. It was a long night.
I finally let myself be 'awake,' instead of trying to sleep some more, around 8:30 or so. Of course, I just laid there and read a bit before rousing myself out of bed. Once I got up, though, my first order of business was going uptown, because we were out of ice and I couldn't have a decent cup of tea without ice (and, yes, we have ice cube trays, but I am lazy and those cubes are way too big. Yes, I am particular.) so I decided to get that over with. Once uptown, though, being me, I decided to go get myself a sandwich - yes, at Frisch's - before venturing into cold ol' IGA.
I sat there and enjoyed a Buddie Boy and fries, then over to IGA for bananas, bread, and ice. I had to only get a small bag, since I can't carry a large one, but that will last us a few days.
Back home, I got into Happy Homemaker mode, since I had gotten some tea in me. I decided not to do any laundry today - not quite enough dirty - and did the dishes that were gathered. I also did a few other chores around here, and when I was done, I got right into doing my exercises. I just didn't stop! It was go, go, go. I figured I'd get dressed - socks, gym shoes - ready to hear from Ron at quarter after 5, and I was playing on the pute til then. Well, he texted me at 5 after 5! Crap! I had to rush and get myself ready and get out the door and walking down the road. But I did it - I made it pretty far down the road before meeting him, and I was proud of myself, seeing that I wasn't ready. Man, I guess I best start getting myself ready at FOUR, just in case.
After we got back home, we watched the DVD that I had bought the other night - the Clermont County hauntings thing - and it was rather interesting. When it was over, I made us some cheese weenies, macaroni and cheese, and mixed the rest of the corn and lima beans for a succotash for our supper. Then we watched more Quantum Leap until time to watch football.
I put my food and exercise into MFP, and, not surprisingly, I was over my calorie count for the day.
Maybe it's time for me to rethink things. We usually don't eat a whole supper, though, and we did tonight. I've got to go back to getting a handle on things. I don't want to get hollered at by MFP, but I've got to stop being over, too.

Not a good food day. Oink, Oink.
Sunday, October 19, 2014
Today was basically a normal Sunday. Church, lunch, football - but, for some reason, I ate like a pig all day long! I don't know why, but I did.
When we went to lunch, we went up to Georgetown and Ron and I both got the big breakfast that we both like. Then we came home, and started watching football. I was fine for a while, but during the afternoon games, Ron went outside and I got myself a snack - leftovers from last night. Apple pie! Oh, it was good. So, then I got myself some pretzel rods that I brought home last night, also.
Then Ron came in and wanted supper. I warmed up the rest of the leftovers from last night - sausages and mashed potatoes - on the stovetop, not the microwave, and chowed down on them.
Now we're to the night game, and here I am, zapping the rest of the apple pie to snack on. Oink is certainly right for me today.
What sound/noise does a skunk make? Cause that's what my guys were today. They stunk to high heaven, and they also GOT skunked. A big ol' goose egg on the scoreboard at the end. Peeeee-yew!! They were awful, terrible, horrible, <insert your own adjective here> and I sure hope they turn their heads around this week. As one of my friends said on Facebook - BOO-dey! I don't like that particular 'saying' all that much, but - this week - that form of it applies very well! Especially a couple of weeks before Halloween! Here's hoping all that crap is out of their system....
I didn't put my food in MFP - I just admitted that I was a total pig and that was that.
Nothing going on this week. Happy Homemaker crap tomorrow. Whee!

A busy, busy, busy day....
Saturday, October 18, 2014
Today started early. Ron got up to go fix my car (hopefully - he had bought the parts at Smyth's) at 8:30, and I had set the alarm on his phone for 11:15, so he'd know it was time to down tools and come home, cause we had things to do and places to go (no people to kill, though!) by noon or noon thirty. I, in the meantime, was getting 1) my weigh-in done - and yes, finally - finally - I have lost some weight! I lost 2.2 pounds according to the Wii! Hip, hip, hooray! I also was getting 2) bills paid, 3) clothes sorted and laid out, 4) showered. I also had to get on the pute to check my banking, which led to other things....and a lot of wasted time.
Much to our surprise, Ron did have the right part, and got my car fixed, with my brother's help (thanks, K.O.!) and was back home by - BY - 11, which was great, but also threw my schedule all out of whack. But, in the end, we both got showered and changed, and we got on the road pretty much on time. After a quick stop uptown, instead of going cross-country from home, we got to Mt. Orab where we stopped for gasoline ($3.05), which beat the crap outta Bethel or Hamersville for price, which we knew it would.
We then got on to Sardinia for the wedding, which was beautiful. Their 'theme' and colors was fall. Fall leaves and brilliant colors were prevalent everywhere, and it was all gorgeous. Even the wedding cake was covered with fall leaves! That's the first time I've seen that, and it was pretty stunning.
We thought we'd be at the wedding until time to go to the next event, but we (all) were kinda chivvied out of the hall by 4, which surprised a lot of us, and so we came back home to cool our heels for an hour, before heading back out again. I was glad, because that gave me time to change my shirt. The one I had on just wasn't heavy enough - I was a little chilly all afternoon.
We got up to church for the Couples' Dinner - it had a German theme, German food and all, which means I had slim pickings and Ron was a very happy camper! The guest speaker was Rick Crawford, who is Clermont County's elite historical speaker. I thought it was going to be about Clermont County, and more specifically Bethel's history, but - no, he spoke about how Clermont County and hauntings. Hauntings! It was awesome! He is a very good speaker, and I already knew most of the things he spoke of, and I really enjoyed it. I bought one of his DVDs to watch later on - I'm sure it's gonna be good!
When I put my food in MFP, I just marked 2 plates of Chinese buffet and called the day a washout. There was no way I could mark all the little bits and pieces I ate at both the wedding reception and the Couples' Dinner, so I thought this was the best way. So, I ended up exactly even on my calorie count.
I'm really sorry that I didn't get to go to the Craft Shows that I was invited to go to today, but there was no way I could be in so many places all at one time. I love - LOVE - Craft Shows, and would have loved to fit them in, but it just wasn't possible.

A Ron-n-Rita evening out!
Friday, October 17, 2014
I woke up this morning a little after 9, and read until just after 11. I then got up and piddled around here in the house, not really doing anything, because I didn't feel a whole lot better than I did yesterday. I just wasn't as cold. My back still aches like all get-out - I'm thinking we must have one hell of a storm brewing. Be warned.
I did do my exercises rather early today, and I didn't eat my lunch - a banana - until around 3:30. I still just plain old wasn't very hungry. Besides, Ron and I are going out tonight, and I want to save my calories for that! I spent most of the afternoon on the pute, talking to both my sisters about the weird-ass dreams and what they might just mean. We didn't come to any real conclusions, since we each interpret them (things) differently, but MAN did we have a good discussion!
I was dressed - all day, as a matter of fact - because I kept thinking that I was going to go shopping before Ron got home, but I never did go because of our great conversation, so when Ron texted me, I was able to just put my gym shoes on and head right on out. I made it pretty far down Hoover Road (stopping to play with a wooly worm without a single speck of black on him) before he and I met. I was pleased with how far I got today, considering how much time I had - and how much time I wasted with the wooly worm.
When we got back home, Ron decided to take his shower and we'd head on down the road before he sat there and fell asleep. Fine by me!
Our first stop was to get the oil changed in his truck. It's been needing it, and this has been our first chance to get it done. After that, we went to eat. We discussed where while we were sitting in Valvoline. I suggested Longhorn, because he keeps saying he's gonna start eating salads again, and he likes their Salmon Salad, and you know I like the almost-perfect Grilled Chicken and Strawberry Salad. He muttered around about it, saying "Burger King" but finally agreed that Longhorn was probably the best idea, because he didn't want to think of anywhere else, which was his other option. So off we went. That was our supper - the salads and an order of their Sweet Corn Fritters. YUM. Serious YUM.
Then we went to Meijer to make a little dent in his Christmas shopping. He really, really dreads shopping and would rather I do it for him, but I get mean every now and then and make him face up to it. Since we don't have Corgan this weekend, this is the perfect chance for us to do this! We made some serious inroads - not as much as I'd like, but he started grumbling about his legs hurting, so I relented. Poor guy did work today.
On the way home, we (read: I) stopped and put gasoline in his truck at WalMart ($2.99!!), so he should be pretty much set for gasoline for the week. I did forget one of the stops I wanted to make on the way back home, but it's just uptown, so I can do it tomorrow morning. But, dammit, I wanted to get these errands done while we were out and about, and I forgot. Having him over there snoring made me want to get home that much sooner, I guess. Having him jerk awake and ask me, "Are you okay?" every few minutes even more so.
We got home, carried stuff in, and he promptly fell asleep in his recliner. I hadn't even sat down yet! I went ahead and got on the pute when I was done putting stuff away, so the next time he woke up, he groused at me for being on the pute - men! I just calmly said, "Good night, Ron. Go to bed." And he sat back in the recliner and fell asleep again. He's too funny.
I caught my games up, and now have done my MFP (hmmm - over for the day by a few) and now this. I am ready to hit the hay myself.
What a wonderful evening out with my tired hubby! I really enjoyed it!
Tomorrow should be interesting - he's fixing my car in the morning, then we have a wedding to go to in the early afternoon, then straight on to a dinner at church in the early evening. It's gonna be go, go, go all day long! I'm glad I'll get plenty of rest for my back at each function!

NOT a good day...not at all
Thursday, October 16, 2014
After Ron left this morning, I had a couple of vivid dreams that involved deceased relatives and they freaked me out a little. I don't like remembering my dreams, since they seem to be prophetic when I do. I finally woke up for good (I thought) around 8:30. I read a little bit, then let myself fall back asleep. I didn't wake up until almost 1! Wow! Not a good start to the day, but, oh, well. I got up, but didn't feel real good. I couldn't get with it, and I couldn't get warm, either. My back is aching, too, although I think that's probably the arthritis flaring up. It sure makes me think I'm in for a fun winter....ugh.
I just kinda moped around and didn't do much for a little while, then went in and put in sweats and a long-sleeved shirt and felt a little better. I also ate a banana, because I couldn't be bothered to make myself anything - not even a bowl of soup. I did carry the crockpot bowl/pot from out of the fridge to IN the crockpot, so Ron and I could have the rest of the stew for supper tonight. Yay, me.
I did finally make the pear galette - a fancy pear tart - for me and Ron, because I had to use those pears before they went bad. Good thing it wasn't hard to do! I also made a blackberry cobbler, which I sent home with Josh because I didn't have time to bake it and I didn't want it sitting around. He was stopping to get some other stuff, so I just sent that home with him, too.
I put on a second pair of sweats, a pair of knee-high socks, and my jacket to walk out to meet Ron, although I didn't get very far down Hoover Road this time - he didn't give me much warning! He forgot that he's supposed to text me a little earlier now. I guess I'll forgive him this time.
We got back home, watched some Quantum Leap, ate our supper, and then I watched Bones and the football game.
Now -- I'm going to go to bed. I hear sleeping pills (Tylenol PM) calling my name, as well as my bed. I sure am hoping that I feel better tomorrow.
I put my food in MFP, and, sure as shooting, got hollered at. I'm hoping that I don't have a sugar low! Maybe munching on some dry-roasted peanuts will help. We shall see. I can only hope.

A mid-week treat
Wednesday, October 15, 2014
I woke up this morning about quarter til nine, and read til eleven, then got up, got dressed, and headed down to Kroger to pick up Ron's tonic water, which was supposed to come in on a truck last night. I think I kept my fingers crossed all the way down the road!
Luckily, though, they DID have the tonic water on the shelf! Hooray! I was so glad to see it, let me tell you. After I got it down and into my cart, I walked through a few aisles, and then I went all the way down and looked at the seasonal stuff - Kroger, just like any other store, does have stuff that you can't find anywhere else. I finally checked out and then went to meet Josh at Bob Evans for lunch. I had called him on the way down the road, and he told me that Chelle was off today, too, and I called her, too, and she and Jean were coming up to meet us, so it was going to be a nice little family lunch. What a nice surprise!
That sure doesn't get to happen very often, and I sure enjoyed it! As soon as I got there, I ordered Josh's sandwich so that it would get to the table not long after he did, because he only has an half hour for his lunch. The rest of us could take longer, if we want or need to. I ended up choosing the Sunshine Skillet, which, of course, comes with bread. I choose banana nut bread every time!
After we were done eating, I came home and brought in the bags, got stuff unloaded and put away (not that that was a hard job today), then played on the pute. I did put away the dishes that were in the dishdrainer, but I should have folded the towels, I should have done a little bit more around here, but I didn't. I just played on the pute until I heard from Ron. Since all I had to do was put on my gym shoes and head out the door, I actually made it to our half mile mark before Ron got there! Man, was I proud of myself, and was I ready for him to hurry the hell up and get there.
When we got back home, we watched Quantum Leap, then stopped for me to do my exercises, him to take a shower, and both to get our suppers. He had one of his frozen Chinese things, and I had a bowl/can of chicken noodle soup, along with some chunked orange tomatoes. Then we watched more Quantum Leap until time for me to watch Criminal Minds.
When I put my food and exercise in MFP, I had just under 100 calories left for the day. Yay! I'm glad to see numbers like that, especially after I've had a meal out.
No plans tomorrow. None at all.

Working and working.....and getting a reward!
Tuesday, October 14, 2014
I woke up this morning at 9:30, which was a lot better than the 7 or so that happened yesterday. I can live with 9:30, especially since I just read for a while before getting up. I did finally get up just after 11, and got into Happy Homemaker mode, getting the dishes all finished and also doing a load of towels. Busy, busy, busy!
I also started a stew (venison) for our supper tonight, then discovered that I didn't have the veggies that I wanted to put in it, so I had to plan a trip uptown between the downpours of rain. The rain was weird today, too, it would downpour hard, then stop for a bit, then downpour again (just when you thought it was stopping for the day, or at least a while), over and over. I, of course, just played on the pute while doing my household chores and finally decided that I best get my ass uptown while the rain had stopped for an half hour or so.
I made a good choice, time-wise, I suppose. It didn't start pouring down until I was ready to pull back into the driveway - I was less than a mile from home - and I was very glad that I only had one bag of groceries and could put my jacket over my head like Cornholio to run - okay, walk fast - into the house.
I got the grocery bag unloaded, and instead of getting right back on the pute, I started doing my exercises. The dryer stopped (I had re-started it just before I left), and I went in to check the towels, to make sure they are dry. They sure should have been - that was the third go-round! They were, and I went back out to get back into my exercises, and I decided to text Josh to make sure he was stopping tonight, and, to my surprise, there was a text from Ron, saying that he was on his way home! I totally missed hearing my phone go off! I guess I was in the laundry room. I answered him so he wouldn't worry about me, and then texted Josh, then went back to my exercises.
Ron came in while I was still doing the standing-up exercises in the kitchen, then Josh stopped in while I was doing the laying-down exercises in the living room. I got up to give Josh the bag of stuff I had for him to take home (Zombie cookie cutters!) and we visited for a minute or two, then he left.
I got the veggies into the crockpot, then went back to my exercises, although he texted just a few minutes later to let us know that we had a rainbow in our back yard. Of course, I had to get back up and go take some pictures! I love the gift of rainbows in our back yard!
After taking pictures, I came back in and finished my exercises while Ron set up Quantum Leap so we could watch an episode or two before I had to take a shower, then leave for my TOPS meeting.
We only managed one episode, then I quickly took a shower, got myself lotioned and dressed, and left for my meeting. I weighed in, and voila I have lost 1.2 pounds! Lost! Yay! I am so glad - after the gain on Saturday morning, I was worried. But maybe the exercises and all are finally kicking in - I certainly hope so!
I get home from my meeting and we ate our supper, which was really good, after cooking for so long. I had forgotten to put the envelope of stew mix in, so it ended up being more like a big ol' veggie soup, instead of thick like stew, but it was still very good. I had 2 butter breads with mine, too. I figure you gotta soak up the juice somehow, right?
When I put my food and exercise in MFP, I had enough calories left to put in for a popcorn & milk snack, so I will enjoy that when I go to bed, which will be soon because I am tired. I still came in under my calorie goal for the day, too! Yay, me.
Tomorrow I get to drive back down to Kroger for his tonic water. Fun. That's my only plan.

Cleaning up after the busy weekend...
Monday, October 13, 2014
I woke this morning around 7:30, but talked myself into going back to sleep. I know I woke that early all this weekend, but I don't need to any longer! I finally woke up around 10:30, which is more like my normal time, and I was okay with that. I read for a bit, getting up right around noon, and I jumped right into Happy Homemaker mode. There were so many dirty dishes on the counter and the stove that I decided to do them in 2 'batches,' half today and half tomorrow.
I finished up the ones that I was doing today, and then went down to Kroger to get Ron more tonic water. On my way down there, I stopped at the Gold Star in Amelia, which was a lot of fun there in all that construction. Did you know they put calorie counts for all their food right on their menu now? I didn't, but now I do! I finally decided on chili cheese fries, which covered my craving for carbs, as well as got me some protein, too. And it was less than 600 calories, to top it off!
I got to Kroger, and, what a surprise, (of course, that's how our luck runs) Kroger did not have in stock. Luckily, I ran into a friend who is a manager there at Kroger (he is the dairy manager, but he helped me anyway) and he got me a decent answer - one other than "a truck comes in tonight." HE said he ordered some and they will be in on Wednesday morning, so that means I get to drive back down there on Wednesday. Yay (yes, that is sarcastic)...I just love making unnecessary trips down the road. I don't mind it if they are needed, but when they are unnecessary, it bothers me.
As I was coming back, there was a nice little ol' wreck in front of Tire Discounters blocking both inside lanes, and man, what a mess that was! I stopped at Walgreens after sitting in all that traffic for so long, and then felt so guilty that I walked around and found a few things to buy. Yep, my good ol' Catholic guilt kicked in! HaHa.
I came on toward home, stopping at my friend Bert's to pick up the veggies she had for me. I got orange tomatoes, pears, and onions. YUM. I had a nice little visit with her, but didn't stay for very long, as I wanted to get home. It was getting to be a lot later than I had expected, and I wanted to be ready to walk out to meet Ron when he called.
I got home, got everything carried in and got things put away - not that there was much to put away - and then played on the pute while waiting for his call. I didn't want to start doing my exercises and have to stop. I figured I could do them just as well after he was home as before. I got a pan of lasagna that our daughter-in-law had made for us and was in the freezer out and defrosted it in the microwave. I put it in the oven at 5:30, so it would be done cooking at 6:30 (I thought an hour would be long enough.) and that would be supper, along with the rest of the garlic bread.
We had figured out a place for him to call me, so I would have a little better chance to walk farther, and he remembered, so that worked out really well. I actually got to the curves on Hoover Road before meeting him today - that made me feel good!
We got back home, and I did my exercises while he took his shower and got Quantum Leap ready for us to watch. I was kinda proud of myself today - I got at least half of the housework caught up, I did my exercises, I got in a WalMart Walk (even if it was in Kroger), and I walked out to meet Ron and got farther down the road than what I've been doing! Yay, me!
I had a snack of a serving of dry roasted peanuts while watching football, and I am tired. My bed is calling me, and I think that I will answer that call.
Nothing going on tomorrow but the rest of the housework and walking out to meet Ron. And, of course, my exercises. My life in a nutshell. Oh, well, sure could be worse. Just ask me.

10/11
Today started with the alarm going off at 7:30. Ugh and double ugh. When my cell phone alarm went off at 7:45, I really got up, even though my whole body screamed at me "No! Don't do this!" I had obligations, though, and made myself get up. I did do my weigh-in on my Wii first, although I soon wished that I hadn't. I have gained almost 2 pounds! I am not understanding this at all - although I am going to believe the old 'it's turning to muscle' story. After all, I am walking, walking, walking every day, and I am doing the PT exercises every day, and I am eating between 1000 and 1200 calories every day - I am not being 'stupid' about any of this. I am so confused, though, about why none of this seems to be getting me off of this mesa (not a plateau, a mesa...) I am stuck on. I am doing everything right, I swear!
Oh, well. Nothing I can do now. I go ahead and get myself up to the church and work at the Rummage Sale again, mostly sitting at the Bake Sale table today. I was not silly enough to put my back - and the rest of my body - through any more than I had to. I had the rest of my salad from yesterday for my lunch, which I ate around 11:30. At the end of the Sale, I did help a little with the cleaning up, and that is when I scavenged through the books and picked myself out two full boxes of books. One was already full of all the same 'brand' (or kind) of books, so I didn't have to do much there, but I did have to straighten and finish filling the other box. Then I got a very nice (thank you!!) price for those two boxes of books, and I wrote one check to cover all the shopping - the picking and choosing - I had done over the last couple of days. I think I did great for my money!
I got home, and took a nap before Josh and his family all showed up - Ron and Corgan were still out trying to get my car looked at. They did come in first, but after talking to me for a few minutes, they went on outside and I got to sleep. When everyone else got there, they woke me up and I got to visit with them and then started supper. I made fish fillets (the square patties), cheese weenies, mixed a bag of frozen broccoli and a bag of frozen cauliflower for our veggie, and that was supper.
Then we sat out by the fire and, boy, it that feel good! After they left, it didn't take long for Ron and I to go to bed. We were both tired!
10/12
Today was, for me, a total day of rest. Church, lunch, football. WhooHoo.
I forgot that I was assigned to be lector today, but I had no problem doing that job. I do love to read, you know, and it doesn't bother me in the least to do so in front of people.
After church, we went down to Amelia to put gasoline in Ron's truck, and much to our surprise, gas at WalMart was down to $2.93!! Wow! We then went to Bob Evans for our lunch, and he got the Broasted Chicken dinner, and I got the half-sandwich and soup combo, with the turkey-bacon melt sandwich and potato cheddar soup. Of course, I missed kickoff, and had to listen to the beginning of the game on the radio on the way home, but I got home in time to see the Bengals get the ball for the first time.
Then it was just "park my ass in the recliner" for the rest of the day! I like those days, although I know I should probably do my exercises at some point during the day, but a day of rest is a day of rest, right?
We made Manwich for our supper, and when I had my supper, I did make it with two slices of bread. I probably should have only used one, since I was going to eat it with a fork, anyway, but...
I am now hungry again, so when I put my food in MFP, I put in for a popcorn and milk snack, which ended me up just less than 150 calories over my 1000 for the day, which is okay, because that's still under 1200. I can live with that.
Tomorrow I am running down to Kroger - Ron is out of tonic water again. We didn't back down there over the weekend, and thus I must do it. I also get to stop at my friend Bert's and get more veggies from her! Orange tomatoes! WhooHoo! It's the last of the year, though, so I will enjoy them even more because of that.

Getting ready for, and then manning, the Rummage and Bake Sale

10/9
I got up this morning and went up to Rumpke for my flu shot. My original plan was to leave home at 8, get my shot, get up to church to help set up the Rummage Sale at 9, and go from there. Well - Change of Plans, don't you know? Ron calls me to tell me that the nurse is only going to be there UNTIL 8, so I've got to get moving. Dammit - the paper he brought home says different! But, what are you gonna do? So, I had to get up and leave here at 7, not 8, and was that ever a bite! But I did it...I got my flu shot all taken care of, but now what am I going to do? I'm not supposed to be up at church - no one will be there - until 9. Well, you know me! I went to Country Inn and had myself a bite of breakfast. I usually don't eat 1) that early and 2) so soon after I've gotten up, but I didn't really have a choice. How else can you kill an hour and a half or so between Bethel and Georgetown? If I went back home, I'd go back to bed (I know me!) so that was out. So - breakfast it was. I chose a small breakfast, just eggs, potatoes, and toast, and I took my time eating said breakfast, so I got to the church a little after 9, so I ended up pretty much right on time for the rest of my day!
I spent the day picking up bags of clothes (yes, only ones that I could pick up - I'm NOT as dumb as I look!), emptying out said bags, while sorting and placing the clothes into the category they belonged - men, women, boy, girl and shirts, pants, etc., etc. Oh, man, did we have the donations and was this a job and a half!
I had to leave at 12:30 for my "lunch appointment" which was, in reality, my lunch with my friend Kathy. It was so good to see her! We've not been able to visit with each other for quite a while, and it was great to catch up. I sure wish we could do this more often, but with our lives now, it just isn't possible. We had our lunch at Frisch's. You know the choices here in Bethel for sit-down restaurants...
I had a pork tenderloin sandwich and a bowl of chili, which I figured was a much better choice than fries. I know I'm working it off up at church, but I don't know how to claim that work on MFP!
Then it was back to work up at church, and we all kept at it til after 4, when people started heading for home. I stayed up there helping until Ron texted me that he was on his way home, which was around 6 or so. Yes, it was a very long day, and yes, my back was barking at me - very loudly. It was not happy, and let me know about it! I sat in the recliner, ate my supper (chicken noodle soup), and watched Quantum Leap as I made the Pumpkin Muffins for the Bake Sale (to hell with the cookies I was going to make!), and I stayed in the recliner to watch Bones (yay! I remembered that it's on Thursday nights now!), then I told it who was boss, though, and played on the pute while we watched football. Well, while I watched football until halftime.
Then I took one sleeping pill - a Tylenol PM - and went to bed. I barely got one chapter read and I was falling asleep!
10/10
The alarm went off waaaaay too early this morning - 7:45 - because I was supposed to be back up at church to help open the Rummage and Bake Sale. Well, it was a fight to get out of bed (what a surprise!) and I ended up a little late - I got there at quarter til 9. Not too late, but not when I said I'd be there, either. Phooey. There were already people standing at the front door waiting to be let in, too! I was let in a side door, and I quickly jumped in helping get things ready, and we opened right on time.
I mostly sat at the Bake Sale table, although I did get up and help if someone, somewhere else, needed the help. We got so many donations that we were bagging up single things (cookies, cupcakes, etc.) and putting them out on trays and pricing them until after 11. It was amazing!
I had to leave at 12:15 to go get myself some lunch and then go to PT. I stopped at WalMart and got gasoline ($2.97!!), then went to Longhorn for that almost-perfect salad, to which I added an order of corn fritters (for some reason, they just sounded good (and they were!) today), although, in the end, I only had time to eat about half of the salad. I had to go in the bathroom and change into the clothes I brought for PT, then go and settle my bill and all the 'leaving' stuff that happens, so I could get to PT on time. Oh, well, at least I know I'll have a good lunch tomorrow while sitting at the Rummage and Bake Sale, right?
PT was pure misery today. My back, feet, ankles, and calves all hurt today and the hurt didn't let up at all. Luckily, she understood about how I 'abused' my back yesterday - that it's not a normal thing - and took it easy on me, and also let me go early. She did give me one more new exercise, and she is also letting me skip a week before coming back, making it every two weeks now instead of every week. Hooray!
I stopped at Walgreens on the way back to pick up some prescriptions and, of course, picked up some other things - Ron's fish oil pills, for one - and spent too much money. Why is that so easy to do? Super Big Sigh.
I got back up to church right before the Sale is supposed to close for the day, but there were still people in there, so we didn't close for almost an hour. We did very, very well for this one day. We were pretty satisfied with the amount of both clothes and books (and other things) that we saw walking out the door (in bags, paid for, smartasses.). We had so much donated this time, we were worried that what we sold wouldn't even make a dent, but we saw plenty of dents! We are pleased and grateful for that.
Ron and Corgan got home not long after I did, and we all went down to WalMart to do the grocery shopping. There's no other time to do it this weekend! Ron wasn't real happy about it, but he went. I bought the stuff for me and Corgan to make Rice Krispie Treats for the Bake Sale tomorrow, but I don't think that will take very long, and we'll get it done. We were supposed to do it right after supper, but you know how that goes.
We had supper when we got home. Corgan had some soup, and Ron and I had cheese weenies. We all had bake sale goodies that I had brought home.
Tomorrow should be an interesting day. I'll be up at the church, Ron wants to work on my car, and Corgan wants to practice his recorder. I'll also have to come up with supper for everyone, too, but it will all work out. It always does, somehow.

Getting stuff done and where it belongs
Wednesday, October 8, 2014
I woke up today around 8:30 and read a bit before getting up, as usual. Then I let myself doze back off right before I decided to get up. I don't do that very often, but today was one of those rare days. I still ended up getting up around 11:30, and I jumped right into getting the Melted Witch goodies finished, so they would set up, so I can take them up to the Rummage (and Bake) Sale tomorrow when I go up to help finish setting it up. Here is what they look like:
and I'm pretty satisfied with how they turned out! I ended up with fifteen of them, and I bagged them each separately. Now if I can transport them without them getting broken....we shall see.
After having a can/bowl of chicken noodle soup for my lunch while playing on the pute, I take the bags of clothes and other stuff from around here up to church and walk around, letting people know that I will be there tomorrow to help set up, and that I will be there Friday morning to help during the Sale itself, until time to go to PT. They were glad to hear that they were going to get more help! I just wish that I could do more, but I can only do so much.
I came home and got myself ready, so when Ron texted, I would be ready to start walking to meet him. I have got to start getting a little farther down Hoover Road somehow or another! I even put off doing my exercises, because I didn't want to be caught in the middle of them when he texted and forget which I had done, and which I still had to do - yes, my memory is getting that bad - so I just didn't start them. I just played on the pute while waiting to hear from him.
After I walked out to meet Ron - yes, getting farther down Hoover, not much, but some - I did do my exercises while he took his shower and shaved. I also got the Melted Witches all bagged up, ready for transport tomorrow morning.
Then we put supper on, watched more Quantum Leap, and ate our supper of cheese weenies, kidney beans, and tomatoes when it was done. At nine, I watched Criminal Minds (while Ron slept in his recliner), then it was pute time again.
When I put my food and exercise in MFP, I was over 150 calories short for the day, and I got hollered at - the first time in a long time. I figure it's okay, though, because of the small nibbles and things while making the goodies. It's probably really closer to the 'real' number.
Lots of things on the agenda for tomorrow! First of all, I have to get up and go up to Rumpke for a flu shot - before nine - UGH. Then, I said that I would be up at church to help with setting up the Rummage Sale at nine, because I have to leave for a lunch appointment at 12:30. I am having lunch with my friend Kathy - she is actually going to be in Bethel for a change! WhooHoo! It's been two or three months since we've had lunch, so it'll be very nice. Then back up to church for a bit, probably until around three, then home. I'll probably walk out to meet Ron, then I will be baking more things for the Bake Sale. I plan on making Peanut Butter Crisscross Cookies and some Pumpkin Muffins.
Then, of course, the night will end with football.
Whew!

Getting my walk on.....and getting proof!
Tuesday, October 7, 2014
I woke up this morning a little after 9:30 and laid in bed reading until after noon. I thought I might go up to church and help set up the Rummage Sale, but ultimately, I didn't. I did the few dishes that Ron and I used yesterday, using the Deep Dutch-Oven type cast iron skillet as my sink. Then I started making the "Melted Witch" goodies that I am making for the bake sale at the Rummage Sale. It's gonna take a couple of days to get these finished, so I need to get started on them. They involve melting candy melts, melting chocolate, setting icing, and other stuff like that, as well as assembling everything. They are gonna look so cool when done!
I had a can of my chicken salad with a serving of walnuts for my lunch, and I played on the pute for a bit, then I did my little exercise repertoire, trying to get it all done by 3:30, so if Ron got off early again, I'd be ready to take off walking to meet him. I got done with 5 minutes to spare! WhooHoo!
I wasn't quite ready when he texted, but quickly got my shoes on and took off walking - yes, in the rain - after getting my walking stick and umbrella out of my car. I met him on Hoover Road, not far of course, and he gave me hell for walking in "this crap." But it was just rain, nothing worse.
After we got home, we watched more Quantum Leap, because he sure couldn't go out into the garage and work, not with it being so damp and all. At quarter til six, I went to take a shower and get ready to go to my TOPS meeting. I gave him a couple of options for supper - he likes to have it ready when I get home, just because we eat so late on Tuesdays - and hit the road at 6:30, as usual.
When I got to my meeting and weighed in (which I was dreading, because I had gained Saturday morning), I was very pleased to find out that I have lost 2-1/2 pounds! <happy dance> Oh, what a relief! Not sure if it was all the walking on Saturday, or all the PT exercises, or a good mix of both, but I am very, very happy with those results!
I got home and found that Ron had made our little Spam casserole (Spam in macaroni-n-cheese) for our supper. It was just done, and very hot, and so was very tasty. That was good, because I was hungry!
When I put my food and exercise in MFP, I was ~50 calories short for the day, too. Yay, me. I can handle days like this! All day, every day....please.

A relaxing Sunday...and back to the grind

10/5
A normal Sunday - church, lunch, football. Only difference was that my Bengals were the Sunday NIGHT game this week.
I was very tempted to turn off the alarm and sleep a bit more, but in the end (thanks to the alarm on my cell phone), I didn't, and we got up, got showered, dressed, and out of the house on time. After church, we went down to Amelia for our lunch. We went to Campbell's Barn, where Ron got - gasp! - a Mushroom and Swiss burger with fries, and I got the bacon cheeseburger with fries that I like. We didn't rush because it didn't really matter if I missed the beginning of football or not. I enjoy watching football, but I don't have to watch every minute if it's not my Bengals.
We got home, and it was football for the rest of the day. It was a nice relaxing day, until the night game - which, as you know, was my Bengals. Well, they played so terribly that it was so bad on my nerves and that I was just so MAD, so pissed that they played the way they did - what they did wasn't working and they didn't change anything. It was awful! But, finally, the game was over and they got thoroughly stomped (which they deserved).
10/6
Today started as my days usually do, except even with going to bed late, and then reading before falling asleep, I woke up at 8:30! EIGHT THIRTY! I guess I slept pretty deeply to wake that early - I thought for sure I wouldn't wake up until 11 or noon, but, no, it's 8:30. Geez! I laid there and read until after 11 when I got up.
I went right into Happy Homemaker mode, doing up the weekend dishes and piddling around here in the living room getting things picked up. I finally got on the pute and ate my lunch - a sausage, egg, and cheese muffin - and worked on getting all the pictures from Saturday captioned. Man, what a job!
Ron, believe it or not, came home at quarter til 4. I hadn't even done my exercises yet, let alone ready to get dressed and be ready for when he texted that he was on his way home. So - no walking today, which in a way was good, because it has rained and rained and rained all day long. But, wow, quarter til 4. Amazing. I'm not ready for his winter hours to start already!
I went ahead and did my exercises, because he went out into the garage to piddle around since he was home in the daylight. I made him his shredded cabbage dish for supper, and I put smoked sausage in it this time. I cut two lengths of the sausage for me, for my supper, and I had the sausage, along with orange tomatoes and a green pepper for my supper. Josh had stopped and got some vegetables from Bert for us, and that's where those came from. He stopped long enough to drop them off, and let us know that Ron has a chance in the football pool tonight (keep your fingers crossed!), then he headed on home.
I had been noshing on candy corn off and on all day, so I claimed those for my snack when I went in MFP tonight, and I ended up less than 50 calories short for the day. Yay, me. Even with no walking, I was glad to see that.
Tomorrow, I will probably go up and help with setting up the Rummage Sale at church. I haven't really decided yet, I may wait until Wednesday. It will depend on how my back feels, and the weather.
Right now, we are having thunder. Not really a thunderstorm, but definitely some thunder rolling!

The way birthdays should be celebrated - just as the celebrants want!
Saturday, October 4, 2014
The day started with the alarm going off at 7 this morning. Double and triple ugh! But, to do what we want today, this is what must happen. I remembered to do my weigh-in, but (another ugh), I have gained almost 2 pounds! I don't understand it. I have been in between 1000 and 1200 calories every day. I have done my exercises, I have done my walking, I have done my PT. Oh, how frustrating!
We are on the road by 7:30, and stop for coffee (and tea for me) at Speedway here in Bethel, then stop for gasoline at WalMart in Amelia before hitting 275 for Columbus -- on our way to COSI, which is Corgan's choice for his birthday 'party.' He didn't want a party with school buddies, he wanted to hang with his family for his 10th birthday, how about that?
We stop in Grove City to have breakfast at a Crackhead Barrel. I had already decided 'to hell with calorie counting' today - this is my birthday celebration, too, so I had the apple struesel french toast breakfast. Man, was it good!
After our breakfast, we went on to COSI, and we spent the day there. Of course, I took a blue zillion pictures and will share them with Facebook later (my back will not stand the strain of doing it now - it's barely standing up to me writing this blog!). They close at 5, and we were there until just about then. Not til the very end, but close. My back was letting me know it was not happy with me, but I just kept telling it to shut up and do a little bit more. I only walked somewhere between 5 and 10 miles today. At least.
We were going to go back to Grove City (yes, the Crackhead Barrel) for our supper, but, believe it or not, when we left COSI, we weren't really hungry yet, AND the service we got there was pretty slow, plus our food was on the cold side - we really don't recommend this store to anyone - so we decided to go to the Crackhead Barrel in Milford, which is much closer to home. We figured we'd be a lot hungrier by the time we got there! We were right. It was a good decision to go to the store that we know. Corgan and I both got our chicken-n-dumplings - which was the whole reason we chose Crackhead Barrel as our supper choice! Since the meal - the supper - was MY birthday 'party' choice, we had decided to use that as the birthday party, with the opening of gifts and all, which we did. I had been planning to get myself a piece of their carrot cake, but when the waitress found out it was my and Corgan's birthday, she said we each got an ice cream sundae for free! FREE! Okay, the carrot cake can wait. Corgan and I both chose strawberry sundaes, and may I say YUM? Then we opened our gifts....
He'd open one, and then I would. They did good! Corgan got pants (jeans - black and gray) from Grandpa and Granny. He also got a Super Mario bag and Cookie Dough Oreos from us and he didn't mock those as much as he did the jeans. He got a hunting video game with a gun from Jean. He got Pokemon cards and a new Super Smash Bros for his 3DS from his mom & dad. There was actually a reaction from the 3DS game! Wow - a reaction from SpockChild! Win!
I got some lilac bath stuff (in the Harry Potter box!) from Jean, a jar of orange marmalade and a carrot cake pop from Corgan, another Blue Willow angel and THAT OHIO BENGAL HELMET T-SHIRT (in the Superman box!) from Josh and Chelle! Oh, and my Jamberry Nail Wraps from Ron, of course. Oh, I am super pleased and super happy! Well, except for the angel - I'm gonna have to rearrange that china cabinet again. Ha!
Ron and I came on home, and I have done this blog, and now I'm going to bed. My back is demanding that I go lay down, and it's time I listen to it. 2 Tylenol PM and ....... some zzzzzzzzzs, I hope.
Church, lunch, and football tomorrow. My Bengals are on the Sunday Night Football game, so I MUST stay up tomorrow night. I MUST. I MUST. I MUST.

Oh, what a wonderful day! Wonderful!
Friday, October 3, 2014
I woke this morning to the alarm going off at 8:30. EIGHT THIRTY. Ugh! But, I got my lazy ass up, took a shower and shaved my legs, lotioned, dressed, and came on out here into the living room. I made a couple of phone calls to finish paying our September bills, then I hit the road for the day. I went up to IGA to buy our donation for the funeral luncheon tomorrow, then on up to church to help set up said luncheon. I got to the church right at 10, and I called Bert because I had forgotten to last night. Teresa had said that she thought she'd be up to going out to lunch today, and I was to see if the last of our trio could complete the triangle. But I forgot. So, I called this morning, and - BOO - Bert already had things on her plate for today. Well, phooey. Isn't that the way it goes? I let Tee know, and she said that she was okay with it just being us two, so I was still going to pick her up and lunch was ON! WhooHoo!
I worked there at church, and we got done between 11 and 11:30, and I took off down the road. I was so glad Teresa felt like getting out and about! I picked her up, and we went to Longhorn for lunch - she said it had been years since she'd been there! - and I had my almost perfect salad and she had a giant cheeseburger and fries. We had a great time, sitting there eating and talking for a couple of hours! We left a little after 2, so I had time to take her home, get myself changed into my PT clothes, and then get back over to PT before 3.
PT was soooooooo much fun today. In addition to the 6 exercises I started doing last week, she added 4 new ones, including one using a resistance band around my knees. Yep. Great fun. <you are noting the sarcasm, right?> My back, luckily, didn't hurt after these, so I suppose that is a good thing.
I left PT and headed for home, stopping at Walgreens for prescriptions (I just drove thru) and at WalMart for gasoline ($3.08!!!!) and by the time I got there, it had started pouring down the rain, and I decided to just get $15.00 instead of my usual $20.00. Ai yi yi - was that rain cold, and it was coming in sideways! I got home and pulled in right before Josh pulled in from the other way, so I had very good timing, I think. They were dropping Corgan off for the night before heading out for the evening themselves.
Corgan and I were here in the house, he playing Wii and I was on the pute, when Ron texted that he was on 774. We got ready quickly and started out walking and bike riding to meet him. We met him, of course, not too far down Hoover Road, and Corgan asked if he ride his bike back to the house instead of getting in the truck, and we let him, after reminding him that he knew the rules about riding his bike on the highway. We watched him the whole way, too, and he did very well - we were glad.
Since it was after 6, as soon as we got back, we started talking about supper, and we decided to have breakfast for supper. I got it started as Ron took his shower, then Ron finished it up. Bacon, sausage, potato pattie, eggs. YUM.
I LOVE breakfast for supper! And, just before supper was done, I walked out into the kitchen and I noticed the sun was shining - such a brilliant color - and I just knew that there was gonna be a rainbow and I looked out of the kitchen window, and there was a huge, beautiful rainbow out there. I opened the back door to look, and not only was it a rainbow, it was a WHOLE rainbow - we could see both ends, and it was so brilliant, you could see every single band of color just as though you were holding it in your hand. As I started taking pictures of it, it became a DOUBLE rainbow - and that was totally awesome. It was also so huge of a rainbow that I couldn't take a picture of the whole thing in one picture. No way - not even 3/4s of it, it was that big. The neighbors two houses down were outside taking pictures of it, too!
When I got back on the pute, there were a few other people who had pictures of the rainbow they had seen tonight, too! Isn't that simply great? I told Corgan that he was very blessed to be gifted by such on his birthday, and we had quite the discussion about that.
I had put my lunch in MFP, but I never did go back to put supper in, and I don't think I will - I am gonna be bad. I will also be bad tomorrow - it's my and Corgan's birthday 'party' day, and I will eat bad all day long. I probably won't even get on MFP. Man. I'll ruin my streak (x days signing in) and have to start over...bummer.
Ron got me Jamberry Nail Wraps for my birthday, and I put them on tonight, too, so I can enjoy them tomorrow while we are out. It took a lot longer than I expected, but I have no fingernails to speak of, and it's the first time I've ever 'used' these, so that probably didn't help matters. They have a peacock pattern, and they are very pretty! I like them.
I am tired, and my back is starting to hurt. I am ready to go to bed (it's only 11), even though I'm sure I'll read for a while. Today was a pretty wonderful day, with so many neat things happening, but I am so looking forward to tomorrow!
Big plans tomorrow, like I said - I'll tell you all about it tomorrow night. It's gonna be a fun day!

No exercise today, but I walked!
Thursday, October 2, 2014
Today started out pretty normally, with me waking around 10 and reading for a while, getting up around 11:30. I jumped right into playing Happy Homemaker, getting the few dishes done and doing a load of clothes. I also put away all the clothes from the other day, emptying all the baskets sitting around, and I got all of my too-big (I can't believe I am saying that!) pants into the "Rummage Sale" bag to take up to church next week, for the Rummage Sale coming up October 10th and 11th. I also got Corgan's birthday gifts wrapped, as well as a couple more Christmas gifts. I did have a sausage, egg, and cheese muffin (yes, I really got one of MY muffins today) for my lunch around 1:30.
I also had plans to get my desk cleaned off, but that didn't happen - I got caught up in playing on the pute, and then Ron called for me to come up to Georgetown to pick up his check and get our deposit made, because they are sending him back out and he's not gonna be anywhere near a bank, nor will he get home in time to get to the bank.
So - Change of Plans! - I have to go get dressed, go up to Gtown, and do all this now. Since I am also supposed to put a sign for the Craft Show at Country Inn in Gtown, I decided to stop in and eat while I am there. We are going to go to Amelia again this Sunday, and it's the perfect opportunity, even though it's a little early for my supper. I can handle it, and damn, did a BLT sound good! I thought about being good, but their only soup today was bean soup (no, thank you!) and I don't like their chili (yes, I know I'm weird), so I got the steak fries, as usual. If you remember, I don't like cottage cheese, and applesauce with a sandwich just seemed weird.
I didn't get to do my exercises today, because I figured if I started them (after I got back home from my errands), then Ron would be texting me that he's on his way home and I'd have to abandon them to go walk to meet him, so I just didn't start them. Then, once he got home, we had to make our football picks and get them turned in, and I just forgot. Hey, that's what happens when you get old, right?
He did text me after I was home only about half an hour, and I walked out Hoover Road to meet him. Carol, my friend from TOPS (the one who lost her husband), was out at the end of her driveway collecting her garbage cans, and we met up at her driveway and visited with her for a little bit before I got in the truck, and we came on home.
I made it through the evening, watching Ron eat his supper of Ramen Noodles, and we watched Quantum Leap episodes until time to watch football. Then, about quarter after nine, I realized that I had forgotten to watch Bones! Dammit - I am not used to Bones being on Thursday night yet, I guess. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)
After putting my food and exercise (I counted all my walking through the house as my first 5-minute walk) in MFP, I had just under 100 calories left for the day, so I put in for a snack (a string cheese stick) and ended the day at just under 50 calories short for the day! WhooHoo!
Ready for big excitement tomorrow - I have to go help set up for a funeral luncheon at church in the morning, and I might go shopping - might - then back home to do my fingernails for Saturday! I'm really looking forward to that - I just hope I don't mess them up...

Getting in the swing of things (once again)
Wednesday, October 1, 2014
Woke up today around my normal time of 10, reading until a little after noon, then getting up and doing stuff here around the house. I folded up, and put away, the towels that were in the dryer, stacked the few dirty dishes onto one counter by the sink, and little things like that. I had one of the sausage, egg, and cheese muffins (well, really one of Ron's croissants) for my lunch.
I also put together a package for my Secret Pal to take to church on Sunday (I've not been very good to her this year - not since May, anyway) and that made me feel a bit better. Once I had realized that I had missed so many of her occasions over the late Spring and Summer, I felt kinda bad. I am usually a pretty darn good Secret Pal!
I got a baggie of catfish (remember that huge one Ron caught?) out of the freezer to cook for our supper tonight. For some reason, it just sounded good today.
I played on the pute, I did my exercises, but I didn't get to walk because of the damn telephone. A stupid collection call caught me just before Ron let me know he was on 774, and I couldn't get away from them - they come up with answers for everything, you know. How they can come up with an answer for "I have no job, I have no money" I don't know, but they pull something out of their asses every time, and trying to talk to them is like beating your head against the wall. Hard.
Ron and I talked about going for a walk, but since I had a meeting (Altar Society) up at church at 7:30, I didn't really have time to both walk and make & eat supper before going, and it was not wise for me to wait til 9 to eat my supper. So, I made supper instead of walking. I dredged the fish in egg, then cornmeal, then fried it in my big cast iron skillet. I zapped the veggies from the fridge that were leftovers from the roast a couple of weekends ago to go with it.
I was glad that I had done my exercises, though - at least I had gotten something accomplished today!
When I got back from my meeting - just in time to watch Criminal Minds - I wanted to eat something else so bad, but I talked myself out of it. Yay, me!
I put my food and exercise in MFP after watching Criminal Minds - I like to pay attention while watching that show, you never know when the smallest 'clue' comes and goes - and I had to guess on the catfish because MFP just said 'x # of filets' not 'x # of ounces' and our bits and pieces were NOT whole fillets, so I guessed 3 fillets because I had eaten about 7 pieces of fish, and, in the end, I was around 150 calories over for the day. I'm okay with that, cause that's still less than 1200 calories for the day. I am not going to fret and worry over that. Plus, I know that it was 'good' food, not junk.
Nothing planned for tomorrow, except to get things all ready for the weekend - celebrating my grandson's (and my) birthday! I've got to do a LOT of housework, so I can put on my gift from Ron to enjoy this weekend (and longer) - peacock fingernail wraps! I want to get the housework done, so there is no chance that I'll mess them up once I get them on....
