Weekends are for resting, right?

Saturday, July 27, 2013

I slept in til noon today.  My guys were supposed to go fishing, and I (we) had no plans for any kind of running this morning, so I felt justified in this small treat to myself.  When I got up, they were just leaving to go fishing - "it's been raining" wah wah wah and so on and so forth.  Bunch of crybabies.

So, finally, they got gone and I had the house to myself.  Wow, what a treat! (Yes, that is said with my tongue very firmly in my cheek.)  I got on the computer and got all my games caught up.  I had lunch around 2, which was a bowl of chicken noodle soup.  I cooked it in my new microwave, and boy was it HOT.  I sure have to get used to that piece of equipment!

Around 3, I realize that I need to do my weigh-in for the week, so I get the Wii set up and do my Body Test - no training first.  I figured weekends are for rest, so no extra exercise. I was tickled when I did the Body Test, for I have lost another pound!  Yay, me!  After such a dismal start to the week, the finish is fantastic.

After this, I get a text from my son, wanting to know if we want to go down to Chilo Park, down by the river, for supper.  I told him I'd let him know when the guys get back from fishing, but it sounded good to me.  When they got back, we decided it was a good thing to do, so we texted back and forth and got supper all set up.  And we went off for a pleasant evening.

After eating a supper of lunchmeat, potato salad, and dry roasted peanuts, along with a few potato chips - yes, just a few for me.  Everyone else had sandwiches (I just had the meat on my plate, no bread), the potato salad, as well as macaroni salad, and cole slaw, along with a choice of three types of chips as well as the peanuts.

We then clean up and go to walk the ONE MILE nature walk, and this time, we walked right past a deer!  Ron and Josh were a little behind us, and Josh recorded the deer on his DS (a 3D DS) to show us how close we were.  We couldn't believe it - still kinda don't, but there it is.  I guess we were not theatening to that deer, so he (yes, a HE) left us alone.  It also started to rain just a bit on us.  Not much, just enough so that we knew it was rain and not water (rain from earlier) just falling off of the trees.  AND - I managed to walk a little over halfway before having to rest my hips in one of the blinds they have overlooking the lake.  The other day, I could hardly wait to get to the first one, and today, I didn't stop until we got to the second one, and the main reason I stopped was to check out the video Josh shot.  So I am thinking maybe this exercise stuff might have something going for it...lol.

We get back to the cars, chat a few minutes, then come home.  When we got to the top of the hill, we could tell it had been raining like hell but had stopped.  I texted them to tell them that, and they replied that it was still raining on them.  As we got closer to home, it got drier and drier, and as we were pulling into the driveway, they texted that NOW it is raining like hell on them and I told them that it was dry as a bone here at home.  What a difference a few miles and down in a valley or up on a hill top makes!

I am considering today a four-star food day, because after we got home and while watching TV and playing on the computer, I helped myself to more dry roasted peanuts.  If I had controlled myself, it could've been a five-star day.  Phooey.
Today was a two-star exercise day.  I did get that mile-long nature walk in, and that was much more than I was planning on doing today.

  1. half pack crackers, 4 pieces toast, and french fries have been my fuel for today. no exercise. not sure i'm with you about weekends, although I certainly behaved that way. In my book, though, Sundays don't count. that is, as far as following guidelines, etc. NOT an excuse for indulgence, just no pushng
