Father's Day (officially)

We had already decided that we would do our Father's Day celebrating next Saturday, because of Chelle's work schedule, so today was supposed to be a nice lazy day for me and Ron.  And it was, to a certain degree - he finished his mowing and weed-eating, and I lazed around here in the house, as usual for me in this new life.
Then - we got a text in the late afternoon from Josh.  They have decided, for some strange reason, to drive all the way to East Fork to go swimming and did we want to go with them?  Well, Ron was hot, tired, and headachy from mowing and said 'no' and I thought it best not to, not with walking so much yesterday and not sure about walking down to the beach and all.  So we replied no, but asked them to stop in for supper and visiting on their way home.  They were gonna drive right past our house, so why not?

A little bit later, we got a text that the bad tire on their car had finally blown.  Wonderful!  Just what every parent wants to hear!  I asked if they needed Dad to come help, but finally got the reply that the donut was fine, and they were on their way again.  But, as most people know nowadays, those donuts are most certainly NOT meant to be driven on, not very far anyway, so guess who does not have her car once again?  Yep, that would be me.  While we have been lazily looking for a tire to fit Josh's car, I guess that this tire search will now turn very serious.  It's a very strange size, and is hard to find, so they tell me, and I just don't know if or where one can be easily obtained.  Or how expensive it will be, new or used.  Sigh.
When they came back from swimming, they texted us and we got on the ball making supper.  Ron made his fabulous Ronburgers and I zapped potatoes in the microwave for baked potatoes in my handy-dandy potato zapper bag.  The last bag of potatoes were in the microwave and the first batch of burgers were done when they got there, so the timing all worked out very well!

We had a very pleasant couple of hours after that, just eating and enjoying each other's company.  It kinda freaks them out, the way I can recline in my chair and rest my plate on my chest and eat, but what's a kid sposta do?  I can't hardly go take my plate and hide in the bedroom, can I?  And I sure can't sit at the table or my desk.....it's a rough life, people!

So, even though we didn't really celebrate Father's Day, I'm glad Ron got to spend some time with his family.
