This is written starting on June 11, 2014. I am caught up!
Sunday 6/8
Today, after Ron got home from church, I told him that I wanted to go to Amelia - for him to get his oil changed in his truck, since he weaseled out of it yesterday, and to do a bit of grocery shopping at WalMart - since both things needed done. He was not a happy camper, but grudgingly agreed that, yes, they did need done. After some discussion, I called my friend Bert and asked her if she'd come with us so that she could shop with me (she called it 'babysitting') while he went on down to get the oil change done, and she said she could, as long as she was home by 3:30-3:45, so we left right around 1 or so, as soon as I could get dressed, which doesn't really happen all that fast anymore. Certainly not as fast as it used to, anyway!
So Ron drops us off at WalMart and goes on. We go through the grocery section, luckily I didn't need to go over to the other side of the store although I could have used new pillows if I had thought about it. We didn't need a whole lot, just enough that a trip to the store was called for. I thought Ron would be back before we were done, seeing how slow I am right now, but he wasn't, so we started through the parking lot up toward Bob Evans since I can't just sit on a bench and wait. Bert and I did sit on the bench for a few minutes, but it was extremely uncomfortable with that brace on - it just didn't contour with the bench at all! But we headed through the parking lot, and here came Ron, so the timing was real good.
We went to Bob Evans to eat - and to tell Bert 'thanks' for helping us today, but we couldn't get that booth in the back with the bench, so I had to curl up in a regular booth, and then sit up to eat. Boy, was I ready to go by the time everyone else was done eating, or 3:30, which came first. Bert did have that time limit. I was SO glad that I had remembered to take a pain pill before going!
No sooner had we gotten home and was putting away the groceries, then Ron was telling me that we needed both his mayonnaise and my Miracle Whip. "Ron! You've GOT to tell me these things BEFORE I go to the store!" I tell him. He just gave me a sheepish grin and said he didn't think of it. Men! What can you do with them?
Monday 6/9
Today wasn't anything too spectacular - pretty much a 'normal' day. Just layin' around, doing nothin'. Hahaha. The only thing different about today was that it was a friend of mine's Girl Scout troop's fundraiser day up at Gold Star. I was hoping that I'd be better enough to go, but (of course) I'm not. And Mr. Whiny Butt Ron didn't want to drive uptown to pick up our supper for carryout, either. Mondays are his roughest day, though, so I didn't really expect he would want to go. Luckily, Tina drives by here on her way home, and she offered to drop us off whatever we wanted, and I was surprised that Ron actually agreed to that - it was after 8 before she could get here - so we did end up having coneys for our supper that night, and we did get to help out with the fundraiser. Yay, us!
Tuesday 6/10
Today wasn't anything much to write home about, either, until I went to my TOPS weigh-in. And guess what, folks? I didn't lose any weight according to this weigh-in! NONE at all. Wow. I guess eating these good suppers are now having a payoff. The few times I'm up in a day, I may have to start incorporating that evil E word into my day - noooooooooo! I don't wanna! But, seriously, I'm going to take that as a good sign that I am eating much better and that things are improving. I think it's a very good sign.
I go home from the weigh-in and have a bowl of chicken noodle soup for supper and go back to bed.
