Second day post-shot is a pleasant one

Thursday, June 19, 2014

I didn't go to sleep last night.  I guess the 'restlessness' and 'sleeplessness' side effects of the steroid shot are definitely true in me.  Of course, I have troubles in that department anyway, so that's not really a surprise, is it?  Anyway, I got up at 2 and took a sleeping pill (a Tylenol PM) - just one - not a dose of two, hoping to help, but I was still awake when Ron got up to go to work.  Ugh!

Finally, at 5, I thought 'okay, I'm turning off the light and giving this a try' and so I did.  I did go to sleep, but it was one of those restless sleep with weird-ass dreams that run rampant here and there and made no sense whatsoever.  One of those nights where you're glad you can't remember the dreams!  I slept until 11, though, which was really weird, because I usually sleep way longer than 6 hours, and I couldn't believe that I was waking up already.  But that was it - I was up for the day.

I got up around 1, 1:30 to come and play on the pute and I actually stayed up - sitting here at the pute - for just about an hour and a half.  My back didn't really hurt, but was really nagging me, so I gave it up and went back to bed.  I was very pleased with that!  An hour and a half - what an improvement!

I am guessing that the steroid is starting to do its thing, then, and I am - at this point - pleased with my decision to get that damn shot!  We shall see in the next few days, what with the weekend and all, will be the test, I'm thinking.  Shopping, a cookout with the family, my final weigh-in, and various errands will tell the tale.  We shall see.

I get back up with Ron after he gets home, since he was going to stand and do the dishes and other housewife-y stuff that I can't do yet, and make my own supper - my shit-on-a-shingle (potato soup with tuna) and carried it off to the bedroom to eat, and 'relax' for the evening.

We'll see how tomorrow goes.  Now, I'm taking a dose of Tylenol PM so maybe I'll be asleep by midnight!
