Dull week, BIG snow storm, and the Super Bowl is set!

I've been trying to up my calorie count to 1500 every day - I've been stuck on this 'mesa' while at 1200 calories, so I, and my TOPS group, have surmised that maybe I am starving my body.    That makes sense, because when I lost the 40+ pounds before, I was maintaining a 1500 calorie diet, and then I went down to the 1200, hoping to lose more, but stopped losing.  Then I fell and broke my back, and all that happened...
So, long story short - I went back up to the 1500 calorie-a-day diet, and that does seem (so far) to be working, but DAMN is it hard to eat that much (that much good stuff, too!) every day.

The week went by, day after day, dull as a butter knife, with not much going on, as these winter days do.
Then came the forecast of a HUGE snowstorm.  You know the weathermen, "possible this" and "approximate that" and all that kind of stuff.  This storm was supposed to be more east and south of Cincinnati, so here in Bethel was right on the edge of "deep" and "very deep" snow (i.e. anywhere from 2" to 6").  Since Ron's been driving my car to work (it drives better in snow than his truck does), when he got home from work on Thursday night, he drove me uptown to get his check deposited into the bank and get some of the weekly grocery shopping done at Save-A-Lot, just in case we aren't able to get out of the driveway on Saturday morning.

Friday - the day of the BIG snowstorm - they predicted it would start late morning or early afternoon, and it started right around 11.  And it snowed.  And snowed. And snowed.  Little teeny tiny flakes blowing every which way, all day long.
Luckily, I didn't have time to worry about Ron being out in it.  He got home around quarter after 2 before the roads (well, the one I can see...) were covered.  Boy, was I glad!  And so - it snowed.  And snowed.  And snowed.  By 5, the road was down to tire tracks, and by 7 or 8, it was totally covered.  The snow continued all night, and we ended up with probably 5"-6", but it had blown and drifted, so I was unable to go out and measure it.  There sure was plenty of it everywhere out there, though!

We finally went out on Saturday around 2:30 and went down the road.  All the roads were clear and it was a nice day - all the silly 'panic' of Thursday seemed a distant memory.  We went down and visited the Wals (Walgreen's and WalMart) and went to Don Rigo - the Mexican restaurant in the Kroger plaza - for a bite of lunch while we were out.  Then back home.  WhooHoo!

Sunday - church, lunch, football.  As usual.  Except today, lunch was a luncheon at church to celebrate the church's 75th anniversary.  Free is always good, right?  It was an excellent meal with excellent company, so you can't ask for much more than that!
We came home and got settled in for the championship football games, and they are over.
We have Denver for the AFC and Carolina for the NFC going to the Super Bowl.  It should be a good game - Carolina has been on fire this year (they only lost one game, going 14-0 before finally losing that one) and looked like a championship team.  Denver fought for the win in their game, and they have the #1 ranked defense in the NFL, so we'll see...

Another dull week ahead, with only TOPS on Tuesday to break it up.
Then all the fun on Thursday...Ron's surgery and doctor visit with, hopefully, lunch with Bert and Teresa in between the two.  My life...yay.
