Nothing much happened on Friday - it was pretty much just a Happy Homemaker Day for me. I got all the dishes caught up, and did a load of towels, too, which takes all day to dry - at least 3 go-rounds in the dryer - ugh. But I just kept doing all the chores and things got done as they got done, and that was that.
Ron and Corgan got home and our fun evening began. We played cards for a little while, then I made us breakfast for supper - french toast, bacon, and sausage - and we all enjoyed that! Ron and I actually watched some of our dead guys before Corgan took over the TV, which happened when the dead guys were a rerun. But that set the tone for the rest of the night...
Saturday was the real day of fun - we got to go down the road! Yay!
After almost half an hour on the phone dealing with the BMV, we were able to drive both vehicles down to Kroger to meet Bert to use her December points for gasoline. She put gasoline in her car first, then Ron filled his truck, then we "evened out" the money putting gasoline in my car. We thought that we'd spend $40.00 in gasoline, but we ended up only spending $30.00, so we all went to Don Rigo, the Mexican restaurant right there in the Kroger plaza. We spent a wonderful couple of hours having lunch and visiting. Corgan loves the Mexican food and all the hot sauces available!
After the guys left (they just can't sit and talk!), Bert and I sat and talked a little while longer, then we finally left, too, because I had shopping to do and she had to get back home. I stopped at WalMart and did my grocery shopping, getting all the 'extra' things we'll need for the Super Bowl party. On the way home, I stopped by the church to drop off some papers that needed to be there before Mass tonight, then I went on home.
We got all the groceries carried in and put away and not long after that, the rest of them showed up and I made supper, trying out a new recipe (which was a success!), then we all played cards for a bit. We even started teaching Corgan how to play poker! He was starting to get tired, and I think it was a bit much for him - but he said he liked it! Crazy child.
They went home a little after nine, and Ron and I watched dead guys until we went to bed.
Sunday. Church, lunch, foot -no!! No football. Boo Hoo!
After church, we went to lunch, and drove up to Mt. Orab to go to Country Inn for a meal with the salad bar - but we took a bunch of back roads to see if we could figure out a "different" way to get up there. We then drove home on different back roads trying to connect them all...we didn't get lost, but we were discombobulated a little. That's what Sunday driving is all about, right?
Once we got home, we played on the Wii for a while and I beat Ron at mini-golf two games to one. We haven't played that in quite a while, and we had pretty much fun. We also changed our characters around and looked for hidden items in the game and things like that, too, instead of just playing the game. It was an interesting afternoon - certainly not what we're used to!
When we were done with that, we flipped through the TV channels, watching some of this and some of that - the Pro Bowl, the live version of Grease, dead guys (rerun) - and finally settled on watching Family Feud for the evening. Yep, we're boring old people!
Tomorrow is my normal Happy Homemaker Day. I'm looking soooo forward to it - NOT.
