A wonderful day!

Today was a most wonderful day!

I started by driving up to my sister's, stopping for lunch on the way.  I had a chef salad - but it was the puniest chef salad on the salad - and toast, since they didn't have garlic bread.  You gotta clean your plate up with something, right?  And, I have learned that you do need carbs as part of every meal, so it was toast for this meal.  When I got up to my sister's, we walked uptown from her house (two whole blocks!), then walked to the town cemetery and walked through it.  You can't tell it from the road, but, boy, are there hills in that cemetery!  We ended up walking for almost a whole hour.  I was so proud of us.  I'm not sure how far it was, length-wise, but we took plenty of 'rests' so my hip never did give me any trouble, and I was very glad of that.

While I was out, my friend called me and wanted to know if Ron and I wanted to meet her and her husband for supper tonight.  Of course I said "Yes!"  so we went over to the FeedMill in Felicity for supper.  I had a big scoop of chicken salad on a plate, with tomatoes and applesauce as sides, then had a bowl of fruit for dessert.  That's something else I have learned from TOPS - I need a LOT more fruit every day.  I do not get any way, shape, or form near enough.  I got enough for 3 days tonight, I think, between the applesauce and the fruit bowl.

I am considering today a FIVE-star day for both food and exercise!!  YAY, me!!

  1. Rita, frozen fruit is a good alternative -- or freezing fruit. You can use ziplocs if you do your own. I bought some fresh some frozen and mixed them and refroze in those clear containers. I added strawberries cantaloupe and bananas. They kept the flavor really well. Just, if you do nanners, eat them before they thaw completely. I think the flavor is more easily savored with the frozen fruit. Yes, I eat it without thawing. Yummy. And right now while cantaloupes are fairly inexpensive, it's good to know it will keep. for most of a month anyway.
