recovery day....mostly normal

Wednesday, August 14, 2013

Today was mostly normal, thank God.  I don't know if my nerves could have stood another day like yesterday!  That was so very weird.  My sugar was 80 when I got up this morning, which is right on the borderline of you-might-be-starting-a-low, so I pretty much ate my lunch right away.  My stomach doesn't really like it when I do that.  It likes to be awake a little while before I put food into it, but I thought today, I best get something in me.  So, I ate lunch much closer to 12:30 than 2:00.  I really have to start getting up earlier and having "normal" eating times again...

I did my Wii training today, but only burned 95 calories.  I didn't push myself doing a lot of exercises, so I did more of the balance games, which I usually use as my warm-ups and cool-downs.  I did do the bicycle and the basic step, but not the obstacle course or the marching.  The other thing I do that uses the most calories is the hula hoop.  Nothing I did today even got on the scoreboard, though.  Wussy day.

I also went outside and filled the 5 gallon bucket back up with gravel for Josh.  I think my shoulders might be getting used to that - a little.  Ugh.  It is not easy.  I am going to go walking tomorrow, and I look forward to that.  I am walking with a friend from church who has had knee surgery, and it should be a nice unstressful walk.  Only thing is - I gotta get up and go meet her at 9 am.  Yep, NINE.  Not looking forward to that part, but once up, I'll be okay.  I also have errands to run once our walk is over.  People will just have to put up with my stinky self.  LOL

I didn't check my blood all day - I felt fine - but I did check it again at 6:30, right before suppertime.  It was down again, down to 64.  Ron was outside mowing.  He actually got home before 5, and jumped right on the mower to take advantage of the beautiful weather.  He DID get the mower stuck in the natural drainage ditch that runs across our back yard - that was the UNnormal part of today - and I had to go out and help him pull it out, which really consisted of me holding it steady while he heaved.  When he came in, I told him that I needed to eat real food,  not have salad tonight.  Did he want to go uptown, have chili or something.  He said no.  We'd find something here.  I laughed and told him good luck there.  We finally did find some Spam and Mac & Cheese and made a half-ass casserole.  I also had 3 yellow/orange tomatoes.  Man, I sure love those!!

Going to check my blood again, then go to bed.  Alarm going off early in the morning!!

Considering today a four-star day on both food and exercise.  Oh, and for those of you who don't know - 100 is a good number for one's blood sugar to be (anywhere from 90 - 110).
