Happy Anniversary to Us!

Happy 38th Anniversary to me and Ron!  Doesn't seem that long (most of the time)!!

After I woke up this morning, I was lying in bed reading when Ron called me and told me that he had his paycheck, but he had to go to Wilmington (didn't I tell you?) and we made arrangements for me to come and get it and do the banking and all that fun stuff.
I hadn't planned on getting up quite that early, but I did.  I wasn't moving real quick - I do believe that there is rain moving in - but I got a shower, got dressed, and hit the road.  I made it up to Georgetown, where I also went to Save-A-Lot (5/$20. meat is a great thing!) and stopped at Country Inn for lunch.  I splurged a little, getting the BLT double decker and steak fries.

I got home in time to get the pork chops in the crockpot and get the other stuff put away, then had to leave again to do my daily task.  Last day this week for the task, yay!  Only one week to go, too...
I got back home and go into Happy Homemaker mode - finally! - and put a load of towels in the washer and do the dishes that have been sitting there all week.  I figure that, at 5:00, I can put on my gym shoes and be ready to walk out to meet Ron.  Well, as these things go, he texts me at 4:45!  Caught me flat-footed again!!  I hurriedly finish the dishes in the sink and put pans in to soak, get my gym shoes on, and take off walking.  I thought I'd be lucky to get to Carol's mailbox, let alone the curves, but (WOW!) I made it all the way to the half-mile mark.  The real one, not ours.  I guess Ron took his time driving home...

We got home and I gave Ron the little anniversary gift I got for him - a can/tin of sardines.  He laughed. He is buying me a banana split for "dessert" tonight, that's what he's getting me that is over and above the everyday.  We aren't really getting each other anything, because we are pretty much celebrating all weekend, going places and doing things.
We sit there, talking about supper and when it would be done and all that.  Since it wasn't going to be done until 7-7:15, we decided to go ahead and go get our "dessert" now, because we didn't want to go uptown for ice cream so late.  Besides, we didn't know when the dairy bar closed.  So that's what we did.  We had dessert first!
I got my banana split, and Ron got a cherry dip cone.

We came back home, and I got a call from my friend Lois, who wanted to make sure I was home.  She then brought over some hosta that she had been given but had chosen to pass on (this time), and I am the lucky recipient!  We walked around the yard, looking at and talking about my flowers and plants.
When she left, I went in and finished getting supper together.  I made fried potatoes and green beans to go with the pork chops, which were done already.  They were falling off the bone!
We ate on fancy plates, but in front of the TV.  We watched Bones while enjoying our meal, then turned on dead guys.  It was a very satisfactory anniversary meal.

Nothing going on tomorrow, at least not until Corgan gets here...
