A great day with friends!

Today is my grandson's 9th birthday!  Happy birthday, Corgan Wayne O'Toole!
One day, you will realize just how worried and exhausted and happy we all were when you were finally born, 2 months early but healthy, after your mom had been in the hospital for a couple of weeks doing everything possible to give you the best possible chance at a good start in life.   You were supposed to be a Thanksgiving baby, but you ended up being a squeak-by-Granny's-birthday baby and we just weren't ready for that.  But, evidently, YOU were, and here you came, and, nine years later, here you are and we couldn't be more proud of you than we are.  Love you, little buddy.

I got up this morning, thanks to my alarm clock and all 3 alarms set on my cell phone, and got uptown to walk with Lois.  It was kind of a dull dreary day, ready to burst rain on us at any given moment, but we got our walk done in LESS than half an hour and didn't get one single drop on us.  Yay, us.  Then, I went home, got a few things done rather quickly and left again at 11:15 - and had to turn around because I left my tea sitting on the counter, so I got "gone" at 11:30, which was my original plan.  Pppfffffftttt.  But now I'm right on schedule, which means I'm running late.  LOL

I drop my stuff (Oreo balls) off up at church for the rummage & bake sale, go to IGA for bread, lunch meat and cheese - where I also pick up some turnips, Better Cheddar crackers, and a small pepperoni & cheese tray, because I am picking up my friend Bert (her name is Roberta, but she has always been Bert.  It took me YEARS to figure out why people named Roberta were nicknamed Bobbi....I'm a little slow) and then we went over our friend Teresa's.  The three of us grew up together - same school, same church, same, same, same - all our lives.  All big Catholic families, not counting parents (mine is 8, 4@ Bert's 6, 3 @ and Tee's 9 - 2b, 7g), and we all commiserate together very well.  Unfortunately, I'm the only Catholic one of us now, but that's their choice and I can live with that.  We only get to do this every 3 or 4 months, what with each of us being busy with our own lives and it's so wonderful when it happens.  We all enjoy it very much!

Bert also brought some last-of-the-season tomatoes already sliced up, deviled eggs, green, orange, & red peppers all cut up into slices in a bowl, and bread & butter pickles.  I brought dill pickles and a box each of the two kinds of nut bars that I have.  So we had 'lunch' spread all over the table all day and just picked and nibbled and ate too much.  Tee has lost 118 pounds now and looks fabulous!  She has found herself a dress to wear to her niece's wedding - but it's not until December 28th, so she will probably shrink out of it before then.  I am so proud of her.  She has come so far in this past year.  She is definitely ready to zipline when we go to Gatlinburg in November!  More power to her there....I will be watching and taking pictures.

I got home around 8:30, finished the Oreo balls to take tomorrow night to the Chili Feast, wrapped Corgan's birthday gift, then ate the lunchmeat I brought home with me for my supper.  I dread seeing my totals when I get this all on myfitnesspal tomorrow.  I'm hoping it won't be too bad, since most of it was veggies, but still.....

Today gets four stars for food - I did stick to more of the veggies than anything.  A serving of Better Cheddars was 20 crackers.  I ate 10 there (yes, I counted them out) and 10 with my supper.  I had 2 deviled eggs.  I can claim a "stack" (meat, cheese, cracker) from a snack tray for the pepperoni & cheese - I've done that in the past (even though I didn't have the cracker - it will 'catch' anything I may NOT be able to put on there, like an oreo ball or a drop of chocolate while making the oreo balls, right?) or I can just claim the extra carbs and be done with it.   I already know the day is shot to hell!  LOL

Guess how many stars exercise gets?  Actually, it gets at least three cause I walked my mile+ this morning with Lois!  LOL  Just the rest of the day was a lazy day...
