Run, Run, Run...then the reward

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

I got up this morning at 7.  SEVEN!!  I had to leave the house at 7:30 to go pick up my sister to get her to the SS office by nine.  And, if you remember, she lives in Winchester.  So, off I go.  Luckily, the sun did not bother me - or my drive - until I crossed 32, which is only about 5 miles from her house.  Man, that was a bit vicious for that little while.  Glad I DIDN'T leave my house then...lol.
Anyway, I got to Winchester after stopping for gasoline in Mt. Orab ($3.12 a gallon!  Woulda been $3.07 if I coulda used cash, but I didn't have any with me, and no ATMs going that way, not from my bank anyway) and off we went back to Batavia.  What she had to do in the SS office took about 10 minutes!  TEN minutes, can you believe it?  They were so backed up, someone will call her next week for a phone interview.  I am flabbergasted.  10 minutes.  Sigh.
So, back to Mt. Orab we go to pick up her daughter to take her shopping - something else Ruth had on her calendar today, but the crack in her windshield was putting a hex on - and, once we picked her up, on to Georgetown we went.  At Sav-A-Lot, I actually was going to buy a few items, too, but then Ruth wouldn't let me pay for my own things!  Good thing I had only spent about 10 bucks, I guess.  I didn't expect her to buy my few groceries - I wanted her to buy me some lunch!  She said she was happy to be able to, though, because of all the running I was doing today, and have done, for her.  So, I backed off and let her buy my stuff.  Then we took Tam home, left to go to lunch, then took Tam back a bag she left in the car, then headed back out.  I decided to go to a little store there in Mt. Orab I don't get to go to very often, down by the RR tracks, so we stopped there first.  I found the cutest little sign that I could NOT resist (better than not resisting food, right?).  If you see my Facebook, you have seen my sign.  I LOVE IT!!  They also have some of the big stars Ron and I have been looking for, to hang on the front of the house between the two smaller front windows.  We'll probably go back and get one this weekend.  I hope, anyway!
Then off to lunch we went.  We went to Country Inn there in Mt. Orab and I got my ChickenNDumplings with double mashed (to dump the CnD over) and salad bar.  I had a bowl of veggie soup and a salad for starters.  Then, back down 32 to take Ruth home.
After I dropped her off, I called Walgreen's to see if my Rx had been called in yet, and yes, FINALLY, it has been - I've only been out of this medicine for two days now.  So, here I go, back down 32 to go Eastgate to cut over to Amelia to go to Walgreen's.  Wow, great fun.  I called my friend Teresa to talk to while I driving that road again so it would go quickly.  Thank God, she answered her phone (she doesn't always) and yes, the trip went really quick!  I got my Rx, and headed for home, reaching there at 2:50 or so.
I got all my bags carried in and emptied, got on the pute and got to play for a while before Ron called to say he was on his way home.

I quickly put on my gym shoes and grabbed my jacket and took off walking, thinking to get in some walking for the day.  I didn't get any more than a quarter mile, though, and there he was.  Phooey.  So much for that idea.  We got back home, and just sat around mostly talking until time for me to go to my TOPS meeting.  I did manage to get on the exercise bike (stationary bike on myfitnesspal) for more than a minute, too. I moved the resistance all the way to the LEAST setting.  Corgan best not touch that knob again!  I rode it for a mile and a half - over eight minutes, burning thirty eight calories.  I made it up to ten and a half mph, too.  I was kinda proud of myself in that first effort.  My heart was beating very hard, though, which is why I stopped at a mile and a half - I wanted to make ten minutes, but I've GOT to listen to my body.  Then, before I left, I showed him what I had got for him for his supper.  His reaction?  "I'll wait for you to get back to make it."  HA!  It was 'open a can of sausage gravy & cook a can of biscuits'!  He is too funny!  Off I went to my meeting.

Best news of the day:  I LOST 6.6 pounds this week!!!  How about that!!  I sure don't know how, because I didn't exercise much - I couldn't breathe much! - at all, but I guess since I couldn't breathe, I didn't eat much, either.  I was certainly happy with that!  Oh, they all liked my new sign very much, too. LOL
Back after the meeting, I made the biscuits for Ron (and put the gravy on to warm) and also threw 3 square fish on the pan to cook for my supper.  I told Ron that I would eat three of the biscuits, and all the rest (5) were for him.  That, my friends, was supper.  Fish on biscuits for me, biscuits n gravy for him.  Yum.

I was over on my calories for the day - for myfitnesspal - but by less than 100.  All those carbs, and within 100 calories of my total.  Wow.  If I had managed a bit more exercise, I would have been fine.  Bummer.

Today is getting five stars for both food and exercise!

  1. He said it was "all right" which means it did NOT taste flour-y. So, I guess I'll be going this weekend and getting more. LOL
