A not-bad-news Tuesday

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

Today was pretty much a normal weekday all day.  No running, no big plans, no nothing.  Just more housework and playing on the pute.  Whoo-hoo.  But I kept at it and got it all done - what I did, anyway.  Y'all know that I am NOT much of a housekeeper.  But all the dishes are now done, and all the laundry caught up.  It's still in baskets, of course, and probably will be for a while...

I had woken up around 9, and let myself doze back off.  Not really sleep, but just a doze.  I woke for real around 10, but read a bit before getting out of bed.  I then played on the pute, and got my lunch around 1.  My chicken salad and walnuts, then a banana.  I also put some chicken breasts (2 large, 1 normal-sized) into the crockpot with chicken broth, cream of mushroom soup, onion soup  and ranch dressing packets at that time.  It's gonna be good!  I knew we weren't going to eat until after my TOPS meeting, so putting it on that late was going to work out just fine.

Between getting the dryer turned back on all the times needed to get the clothes dry now, I pretty much just stayed on the pute all afternoon - I had done the dishes this morning before getting on the pute, so now what housework I'm doing is caught up.  Yay, me.  I did get up and did my Wii training at 5 - I wanted to get it fitted in before going to my TOPS meeting, and I let the time get away from me a little.  I usually like to do this around 2:30 - 3, not quite that late.  I tried a NEW exercise today, too!  Imagine that...  I tried the Free Step.  I do the Basic Step pretty regularly, so thought I would check this one out.  Only thing is, you are supposed to do the Free Step for 10 minutes.  10 minutes!  I can't do that!  Not quite yet, anyway.  I did manage to do it for 3 minutes and thought my heart was gonna pound right out of my chest, so I stopped.  Then I went ahead and did the regular 'cycle' of training that I usually do.  Balance things to warm up, then about 15 minutes of cycling, steps, etc., then balance again to cool down.  I only burned off 84 calories because I only did 15 minutes of 'real' exercise, but my heart wasn't cooperating.  It kept beating too fast too quickly, and I would get worried and back off.  But I figured what I did was better than nothing.

Then off to my meeting - and I did have a loss for this week!  .2, but hey - it's a loss!  I'll take it!  At least she didn't have to write in the dreaded red pen (which means I gained).  According to my Wii, when I did my training, I weighed 246.0.  When I got to TOPS, their scale said 252.8 - that's how different the scales are.  (and this is only a difference of 2 hours!)  I like MY scale much better, thank you very much.

When I got home, I made a box of Rice-A-Roni (Chicken and Garlic) and green beans for the rest of supper, and we ate supper at about twenty til/quarter til nine.  I sure wish Ron would make Rice-A-Roni, but he won't.  He makes mac&cheese, he makes potatoes, he makes all other kinds of sides, but not this.  Strange.  A serving of Rice-A-Roni is one cup, and that's all I was going to have, but when I took my plate back out to the kitchen, there was still some left in the skillet.  So, after asking Ron why didn't he eat all the rice and he didn't want it - I couldn't let it go to waste, could I?  And I finished it off.  I had also chopped up some tomatoes to go as a side, too.  Then, I ate a banana for my dessert.

When I put all this on myfitnesspal, I was under on the calories for the day - by almost 200!  SCORE!!  I am very happy with that!

Today gets five stars for food, and four for exercise.

**And, in case y'all didn't notice, I have lost 12 pounds since I started writing these blogs - to be more specific, 12 since I quit weighing myself (and telling my weight) every day.  I may have made a good decision that day!**
