Today ended up being a very good day. Yay! I needed one of those - Sundays don't really count, as they are just really sit and watch football days - you know, lazy days. They can be good food days, but...
Today was a good day all around. I woke up about quarter til nine, and laid there reading for a while, finally getting up and playing Suzy Homemaker (you know, laundry and dishes...). Then, on the pute I go and that's all she wrote for a while. I ate my lunch around two. I had my normal very well-loved chicken salad and walnuts. Very predictable, huh?
Then, I was planning to try that damn exercise bike again, but my daughter-in-law texted me - did I want to go to Chilo Park tonight? - oh, yes! How wonderful! We have not done that in quite a while, and I have missed it. I had to scrounge for something to take for food - I don't keep much in the house anymore, you know, certainly not much that is picnic-y. Ron wasn't going to be able to join us. I texted him about quarter after four, and he was just LEAVING to go out and switch out one last dumpster/compactor, so wasn't going to get home much before six thirty or so. Normal Monday. I shoulda known. And it's getting dark so early now, too. I decided to make mackeral patties, then just take pickles, both bread & butter and dill (chips/slices), string cheese, yogurts, pop cakes, and cherry tomatoes. They were bringing tuna salad, potato salad, and cole slaw. So we would have a good selection. I only had some of their potato salad, and they had some of my pickles and yogurts. They also had some of my pickles and I let them take the dills (which ended up being baby dills, not chips) home with them. The sneaky Petes ended up taking the rest of my loaf of bread, which is not a big deal, and my B&B pickles home with them, too, and they don't even LIKE those kind of pickles! Nobody had any string cheese or pop cakes. Oh, well.
Then we walked the nature trail, which, if you remember, is a mile long. My hip didn't start hurting until we were more than 3/4 of the way through! I was very happy with that! My sister Jean and I had started before the younger O'Tooles, and at one point, Corgan came running up behind us (we were kinda surprised they didn't catch us halfway through, we walk that slow and they walk that fast) and scared the poo out of us. Typical 9-year-old boy, right? I can't believe he snuck up on us through all those leaves, but I guess we were making enough noise of our own in the leaves that we didn't notice. We did good, it probably was just about half an hour to walk the trail, so not bad at all. I forgot to look at my cell phone for the time when we started, so don't know for sure, but it didn't seem like very long.
On the way back home, I had to stop at Felicity IGA for milk, and of course I checked out the Halloween candy, and of course I found some I just had to buy. SweeTarts Skulls & Bones!!! Yum!! 11 pieces are a serving, too. Do you KNOW how long it takes to suck on ONE sweetart until you just HAVE to bite it? Thus, how long it will take to eat 11 pieces? Cool! Such a wicked (lol) snack!! And only 60 calories!! I will definitely take it!!
So, home to Ron - I called him as I left Chilo and he was JUST pulling into the driveway! - and then pute and football.
Like I said, a good day all around. food, exercise, football. Husband, too. What more does a woman want?
Five stars for all!!
