Today ended up being a really good day, most especially for a Saturday. Most Saturdays are run-around-like-chickens-without-heads kind of days, trying to do all the things that we don't get to do during the week. Today, we didn't, which is a very pleasant different day to start with, and not even having to THINK about do we still have to do this? is a very pleasant difference, too, because we had nothing on our plates for the day. Well, I did, but WE didn't, and that made all the difference - are you confused yet? LOL
Ron and the boys (remember, Corgan's friend is spending the night with him) stayed home getting the house all dolled up for fall and Halloween all day long, until we went out for supper. I, on the other hand, went up to church to help get the rummage sale closed. We (the Altar Society) did very well. I know that yesterday, we had done over $500., so.....should be a very good total. I got to 'harvest' a few more items while closing it down, and did NOT overdo it. Then back home, a can of chicken salad and a couple of cookies I 'harvested' from unsold bake sale items. FYI - I did 'donate' a ten dollar bill for all my 'harvested' items.
OH - this morning, when I did my Wii for my weigh-in for this week? I LOST 3 pounds! Yay, me! Here's hoping it holds til my TOPS meeting on Tuesday!! Please, please, please. We should have our finals next weekend. I am going to have to do a workout every day this week...I want to have a decent result this time around SOOOO bad...tired of ending up way in the middle of the pack. I don't care where, but top five or six, please.
Then, we left to go to supper. Chelle had decided to let Corgan go to ChuckECheese for his big birthday celebration this year. He turned 9, and this will be the last year he'll enjoy something like that. He's getting so big. So, to C-E-C we went first, so the 'kids' could play for a while. Corgan liked his bike, but didn't understand the pictures. He thought they were pictures of a bike his Grandpa had when Gpa was a boy. Oh, man. Finally, Josh (his dad) said, "Corgan, they got you a bike for your birthday. That's your bike. It was too big to bring here." THEN he got it. He sure was tickled to death over the Wii games he got from them (both J & M and Jean), though!! He wanted to open them!! Like he could play them while sitting in C-E-C! Too funny! His friend Justin (and family) gave him 10 bucks.
After the kids had spent all their tokens, we left C-E-C and went to Golden Corral to get some REAL supper for a decent amount of money. I got my usual plate of cold salad foods and went back for a plate of hot foods. Ron got worried - where did I go? They told him for more food (I do this every. time. we. go. there.) He said 'her plate is gonna get cold.' Awwwww - he was worried about me. They just laughed at him cause it was a plate of salad stuff, and was already cold! It was kinda funny. I like getting both plates first, then I can just sit and eat and not get back up. I even get butter for the whole table in a soup bowl, for potatoes and corn and whatever. I don't get up again until I absolutely have to!
SPOILER: GROSS SUBJECT AHEAD! As we were sitting there eating, someone going into the bathroom puked all over the hallway. EEEEWWWWWW. Luckily (or not), Ron saw it happen, and we notified the waitress & she immediately stopped what she was doing & went off and did ~whatever~ to take care of it. I'm so glad I didn't have to go that way any more tonight.
So, all in all, it was a very, very nice (as I said, pleasant) day - a great change from our usual Saturdays. We'll take it!
Today gets only three stars for food. Bake sale remnants and a buffet supper. Yeah. Even though I'm not eating nowhere near as much as I used to, it's still waay too much. (Notice only two As, not six. lol)
Exercise, for a Saturday, gets zero. No walking around stores and/or parking lots. No biking with Corgan (he had Justin - we only have 3 bikes). No time for walks. Ugh.
