12/5
Waking up this morning was strange, mainly because I could hear someone here in the house.  It took me a second or two to remember that my sister was here!  Then, instead of lazing in bed like I usually do, I got up and spent some time with her.  I also did up some dishes and left her alone to "do her thing" on her laptop and the rest of the morning flew by.  I did manage to get in a plug for her to come stay with us - I warned her that I was going to - but, as sisters do - I don't think she listened.  As I expected, but I had to try.
After she left, I took the dish I made for the funeral luncheon up to church and got that delivered.  After that, I went up to Gold Star and had some lunch.  It's been a while since I've had chili and it tasted good!  I went back home and got things together so I could leave at 4:30 to go down to Josh's because there is a 'Winterfest' festival-type thing going on tonight, and we are all planning to go to it.  All except Ron, of course, because we can't plan on him to go anywhere with us because of his work.

I got down to Ripley, and we all went to the festival at the school, and it was fun!  A lot of walking around, but it was all okay with me.  We posed for a picture with Santa, saw the ornament that Corgan made on his 4th grade tree, and I stuck my face through the hole in the Ice Queen (or was it the Snow Queen) cutout and Chelle took my picture, and a lot of little things like that.  Corgan played a lot of the little games they had (us grown-ups knew better) and we just had a good ol' time for a couple of hours.
Corgan and I came on home after that, and, man, was that a harrowing ride!  Foggy and drizzly rain and nasty....was I glad when we got here!  I also commandeered my own TV to watch 'A Very Grammy Christmas' and it was good in the beginning - when they sang Christmas songs.  When they (the singers) all started singing 'their' songs, and not Christmas songs anymore, I didn't like the show any more.  That was disappointing.  When it was over, Corgan took the TV back over, and I went to bed.

12/6

I got up this morning to the alarm going off at 8:30.  Ugh.  But I had to go over to Eastgate to do my final weigh-in for this go-round, and I had to get my lazy ass moving!
First of all, we (yes, I made Ron and Corgan go with me) met with Jody so that I could pass on the chocolates that were left over after I had sorted out the ones for our stockings.  Jody had asked for help in 'adopting' or 'sponsoring' a family for Christmas, and we don't have the money to help, but I figured that the extra chocolate would help - it would keep that family from having to buy any.
As we were leaving town, since Bethel's Down Home Christmas was going on, Santa was in the middle of the road by IGA/Skyline/Speedway, and we stopped (as all traffic did) and I gave Corgan some change to give.  As we stopped, Santa comes over to the car and booms, "CORGAN!!  Can I have a smile??"  and man, oh, man, I would have loved to have seen Corgan's face!  (He 'knows' the truth about the jolly old man.)  But to have this Santa walk up and call him by name....oh, that was good!!!  Ron and I teased him about it all day.
My final weigh-in??  Blah!!  I have gained weight since the beginning.  Ah, well, I guess it's a good thing we're not starting the next one til next year.  Maybe I can figure out something to kick-start my weight loss again.  I just don't know what is stopping me.  I just can't get a plan to work for me right now.  I am flummoxed.
After my weigh-in, we (yes, I made Ron and Corgan go with me) went to Golden Corral.  We got there just at the changeover from breakfast to lunch, so we only got charged for breakfast, and we got to eat both - what a piece of luck!
After eating, we headed for home, but we had to stop and visit both the Wals first - Walgreen's and WalMart.  At Walgreen's, we picked up prescriptions and at WalMart, a few groceries and one of the gifts from the Giving Tree at church (we get two tags - a boy and a girl - every year).  Then, finally, we could come on home.

I got my Sports Tree put up, and Corgan even helped.  He had said he wasn't going to, because he wasn't going to put any Bengals anything on any tree, but then he put up ornaments and things that were generic football/sports, not specifically Bengals.  Except the candy canes - they are Bengals, but he loves hanging candy canes, so he wanted to hang those and I let him.  We had fun!
When that was done, he watched TV and I got started on our Christmas cards.  Started.  On.

Josh and Chelle let us know when they were on their way (they had gone to Trader's World), and I made Johnny Marzetti for our supper,  The timing worked out great, and we ate our supper about ten minutes after they got here.  They had gotten a pineapple upside-down cake on markdown, and we enjoyed that for our dessert.
Then we sat around and talked for a bit, then they gathered up their stuff and left.

I worked on our Christmas cards some more while watching/listening to It's A Wonderful Life, and now I hear my bed calling me.
Can't wait for the nice relaxing Sunday...
