For some reason, I woke this morning just before 6. SIX! What the heck? I read a bit, played on the tablet a bit, then decided to try to sleep again. I told myself to only sleep for an hour, because I had things to do, and it was 8:30 already, and I drifted off.
I woke back up at 11! That was a little more than an hour! Ai yi yi! But it's okay, because I'm not really on a schedule, I just wanted to get things moving a little earlier, but my brain thinks differently at night than it does in the morning, I guess.
I got up, got dressed, got the car loaded, then called Ron to see if he had gotten his paycheck yet, and to see if I could meet him somewhere to get it so that I could make the deposit, so I could actually get things accomplished today. He was taking his lunch up in Georgetown, so I had to go in that direction first, and that was a bit of a surprise. He was also halfway through his lunch (he only gets a half hour), so I had to get moving! Good thing we know those back roads, huh?
He was waiting for me, not very patiently, even though I got there in less than 20 minutes, and did our exchange - I got his paycheck, and he got a kiss. Actually, I got a kiss, too, so I got a double prize! (I'm cracking myself up!) Then, he went back to work, and I went to cash that check, make our deposit, and spend some money. That's always fun, right? (NOT.)
First of all, since I hadn't eaten, I stopped at Country Inn and enjoyed a double-decker BLT with steak fries. I needed energy for the shopping I was about to do! Then, it was on to Bethel, where I went to the Post Office, dropped clothes off at the Free Store, went to BP for a drink and a pit stop, then on down to WalMart for the grocery and Christmas shopping that needed done. It's not just groceries, either, it's buying stuff to make desserts for a Christmas party we are going to on Saturday evening, too. I got plans, man!
I get done, and am ready to check out - which one of the THREE open checkout lanes do I want to get in? Oh, that bugs me!! Why can't they open some aisles when people are three and four people deep in line? Finally, just after 4, I have the car loaded and am headed for home. Just after FOUR. That means I was shopping for 2-1/2 to 3 hours. No wonder my back is barking at me! And I still have to carry everything in when I get home - ugh. Oh, well. It was my choice, so I can't complain too much.
I was pretty proud of getting everything that I did get, and of what I am going to do with it all. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!
Ron texted me when he was coming home, but I still had my phone on vibrate, so I missed it. Well, I saw it, but I was late. I started walking and he pulled up to the stop sign at Hoover, so I just turned around - I wasn't even to the end of our property yet. Yep, I was quite the slacker there. Oh, well, my back wasn't happy with me anyway, so...
Once back in the house, I finished putting away the groceries and sorting 'making' stuff and gifts, and then we decided on cheese weenies for supper, and watched Quantum Leap while making and eating supper. At 8, I watched Bones, then turned on football.
Tomorrow is a "making and baking" day, and I'm looking forward to it! I'm trying some new things, and I'm anxious to see how they come out.
