A stiff back does NOT equal a Happy Homemaker!

Monday, December 29, 2014

I slept good last night (and this morning), and didn't wake up today until after 11.  After just a bit of playing on the tablet - no reading - I got up.  Oh, my back was so stiff!  I'm not sure why, but it was.  It was like I could barely move, it was so stiff, and it hurt when I tried to move.  But I forced myself to do the things I had to do, and it eased up after a while - not much (it stayed stiff all day), but it did ease.  I don't know if it was because I sat in the recliner most of the day yesterday, or just because of the weather, or if something else (bad, bad eating...) is going on.  It's a little worrisome.

I got a load of laundry (regular clothes) going, and did up the dishes from the weekend.  Well, from the holiday and the weekend, but who's counting, right?  Along in there, I did my standing-up exercises - I was too afraid to get on the floor and do the laying-down exercises, I might not be able to get back up! - as well as putting some things away that needed put away (from the shopping we did the other day and from the dishdrainer), and got some bills paid that I didn't do over the weekend.  I also zapped myself some of the schnecken that Chelle had made for me as a Christmas breakfast surprise for my lunch.
I did two separate loads of dishes.  The first one was my fancy Christmas dishes and things like that, which I then put away when they were dry - more climbing around, which did wonders for my back (yes, sarcastic font) - and then a 'normal' load of dishes, which are still in the dishdrainer.

I was ready to get myself dressed at 5 to walk out to meet Ron, when, sure as shooting, I got a text.  I told the phone, "No!!  I need 5 more minutes!"  but it was no good.  It was Ron, and he was on his way home.  I now had to rush, which was a lot of fun with this stiff back.  But I made it out to the curves on Hoover Road before Ron picked me up, so I was very glad that I got that far.  I thought there was no way in the world I'd get that far, so I was kinda proud of myself.
We watched Quantum Leap, and when we decided to make supper, we did so.  We had ham steaks, buttered noodles, and he had green beans.  I had the rest of the veggies left from Christmas.  Yay!  All the Christmas food is gone now, except for enough schnecken for lunch tomorrow.

We watched Quantum Leap until Ron fell asleep, then I turned on "dead guy" shows for the rest of the night.  No football - boo hoo!

I don't have any plans for tomorrow, but I sure hope my back is not as stiff - this does NOT feel good!  I have got to get back in some kind of routine, that much is obvious!
