'Back to normal' is NOT fun....no, not at all...

Monday, December 1, 2014

Today started off as my normal days have been - waking up between 8:30 and 9, reading and playing on the tablet until after 11, then getting up.  When I got up, I got right into playing Happy Homemaker, getting a load of laundry (regular clothes) and then finishing up all the dishes from over the weekend.  Yay - I felt so good finally getting all of those damn dishes done!  I must have done more dishes in the last 5 days than I did the whole last month, I swear.

Between bouts of dishes, I had to make phone calls and get some business done, and I got everything accomplished that I set out to do, and that made me feel good, too.  That was as far as the 'feeling good' went, though, because after that, I just seemed to be treading water.  I started to do this, and I started to do that, but I never seemed to get anything done.  I'm sure I did, but it just didn't seem like I did.  I still have Christmas cards to write up, Christmas gifts to wrap, a Christmas tree to decorate (the sports tree that I put on one end of the kitchen table), mail to get ready to go out - now that I've bought the correct envelopes, reports to write before Wednesday, so on and so forth.  Trust me, I've got quite a list!

At 3:30, I was ready to take a break and do my exercises, when Ron called me and said he was done for the day and could I meet him uptown?  Rumpke, of course, rejected the physical card from his DOT physical and he needs to take a new one over for the doctor to fill in and sign (again).  Wonderful!  We should have known.  So I get myself dressed, gather him up some clean (good) clothes, and off I went.  We get over to Eastgate, and guess what?  That doctor isn't in today.  Yep, that's how our luck runs.  Neither one of us had even thought to call and ask THAT question...
Are we dorks, or what?  He will have to stop in later, I guess.  We come back home, going over to 125 and stopping by KFC to bring chicken home for our supper - it was too early to eat then.

We get home, after a stop at WalMart for the envelopes and boxes I needed, then watched Quantum Leap, getting ourselves chicken when we were ready for it.  Ron didn't even make it through the first episode....poor guy.  He is exhausted.  He did wake up long enough to pretend he saw the whole episode and to eat some chicken, but then he zonked again.

Hopefully I'll be able to get more things accomplished tomorrow.  We shall see.
