I woke up this morning around 7:30, but convinced myself to lay there and doze until after 9, when I let myself wake up enough to read and play on the tablet. Then I got up at 11 and worked on our Christmas cards. And worked on them. And worked on them.
And I got them done! Then there was the fun of putting the return address labels and stamps on all the envelopes. Whew, that's almost a bigger job than choosing and signing all the cards, and addressing the envelopes - almost. My back hurt so bad by the time I was done that I went and laid back down as I ate my lunch (3 slices of cheese, dry roasted peanuts, celery, and cherry orange tomatoes). I also let myself take a nap, how about that!
When I got back up, I just piddled around the house until time to walk out and meet Ron. He texted me a bit earlier than I expected, and I had to rush to get ready and get out the door, so I didn't get very far down Hoover Road, but I did get some walking in, and that's a good thing.
I made us a shrimp meal for supper. I just take a bag of shrimp (I used medium shrimp this time), and thaw it out. Instead of using a cookie sheet, I used a casserole dish (shrimp is much closer instead of spread out) and covered the bottom with lemon juice. The recipe calls for real lemons, but I can't keep real lemons around here, not with Corgan coming up every weekend - he eats them! - so lemon juice it is, then put in the shrimp, then sprinkle a packet of Italian seasoning over all of the shrimp. Bake in a 300 degree oven for about 45 minutes (or a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes). Then I baked a tube of biscuits, and that was supper. Not much, but it was nice and hot and very satisfying. And GOOD!
We were watching Quantum Leap as supper was cooking, and as we ate. We continued watching QL until 9, when I watched Criminal Minds.
And that was my day.
Tomorrow I get to run errands - post office (gotta mail those Christmas cards, and a box or two!), drop off some clothes at the used clothes store, and some shopping for a Christmas party on Saturday night. All labors of love, don'tcha know?
