A wonderful 'Date Day' with Ron!

Saturday, December 27, 2014

Ron and I decided last night that we'd go to the movies today, and that was what we did.
We went out to a very nice lunch, then to the movies.  It was a great 'Date Day.'

I woke up this morning to a text from my brother in Kansas.  I enjoy hearing from him, but it's always a surprise at 8:30 in the morning, which is 7:30 his time!  We had a two or three text conversation, then he had errands to run (at that time of the morning?) and both our days got started.
I did my weigh-in on the Wii, and according to it, I have lost 10 pounds!  TEN!  I don't see how, but I'm not gonna argue with it!  WhooHoo for this week - I'm sure it'll be a different story next week.

We left here around 10:30 to go do our errands and go to lunch before our movie, which started at 1.  We stopped at Walgreen's to pick up prescriptions, and I found a DVD that was the Dreamworks Holiday episodes (Shrek, Dragon (Night Fury & Hiccup), Kung Fu Panda, and Madagascar) for only ten bucks!  TEN!  I was really proud of that find!  Then we went on down to Red Lobster for our big lunch date.
Man, was that good!  We haven't been there in a long, long time and it was superb.  We got a combination platter with clam strips, calamari, and cheese sticks for an appetizer, then he got the Admiral's Feast for his meal, and I got the Fish-n-Chips lunch.  We had been teasing with the waitress, and I asked her if I should be good or bad with my lunch choice, and she flapped her hand, and said, "Oh, be bad! You only live once," or something like that.  So I chose the fried food over the salad.  It was not only a good meal, but a fun meal.

We left at 12:30 to get back up to the cinema in time for our movie.  We had decided to see the movie Unbroken, and it ended up being not quite what we thought it would be, but isn't that how it goes?  It was good - very good, even - but just not as expected.
After the movie, we stopped at Kroger to get Ron some tonic water, and we also found some Christmas stuff that was marked way down, so I picked up some other stuff, but nothing as good as my DVD earlier today.

Back home, we   just watched Quantum Leap all evening.  We are finally in the final season, and are kinda wanting to be done, but at the same time, really enjoying the episodes!  It's a strange quandary to be in.
Ron finished off his meal from Red Lobster for his supper, and I had his salad after adding some of the veggies that we had here to it, making it a lot bigger than it was.

Tomorrow, nothing is planned except church, lunch, and football, as usual.  It's the last regular Sunday for football, then the playoffs start.  I am gonna enjoy this last full day of football, ending with my Bengals on Sunday Night Football!!  Yep, I am gonna enjoy it to the max!
