Happy First Day of Winter!
We got up early this morning and drove over to Clermont Mercy Hospital to visit our friend Harry, who had a hip replacement last Monday. He thought he'd be in the nursing home for rehab by now, but the insurance is dragging their feet and he's still in there, so when I last talked to Donna, his wife, she said he was probably more than ready for some visitors. He wasn't at first, because of the surgery itself, and then he was depressed because of not getting to move before the weekend, but anything to cheer him up a bit...
So, off we went, even though it was harder than hell to get up this morning, and we left the house a half hour later than we thought we would. But we had a nice visit with him and that's all that matters.
We then went on to church, and I ended up being the lector for the the Mass, and that's fine with me - you know I love to read! We had to run all the way back out home because I forgot the baggie of ornaments that I had sorted out to get rid of, and I had said that I would take them to church this morning. I didn't want to prove myself a liar! So, after that little side trip back home, we made it in plenty of time.
After church, we went down to the Barn for lunch, since we weren't under pressure to be home by kickoff today - my Bengals are on Monday Night Football this week. I will watch football when I do get home, but I don't have to be there at the very beginning. My brother K.O. and his wife Beth came and joined us for lunch, and we had a fabulous time, sitting there gabbing, laughing, and just enjoying the time together. Ron and K.O. mostly talked about Rumpke (K.O. works there, too), K.O. and I talked football, and Beth and I talked about anything and everything! It was great! We didn't leave to come home til after 1:30, and I didn't mind at all. Of course, the fact that they have big TVs, so we could watch some football didn't hurt, either. HaHa.
We got home and I watched football all day, as usual. Ron made us cheese weenies for supper, and that was that. Our day in a nutshell.
OH - did I tell you that I weighed myself yesterday, even though we're not "Biggest Loser"ing until next year?? Well, I did, and I lost - LOST - a pound and a half! Hip, hip, hooray! I'm excited to see what it will be on Tuesday night now - I want to enjoy myself on Christmas without being too strict on myself!
Tomorrow I am finishing up the wrapping and all, so that Josh can stop and pick it all up on his way home. That's less stuff for us to carry down there with us on Christmas Eve, and I can certainly handle that, because there's less chance I will forget something. My list keeps growing as it is!!
