A day running errands - and getting rewarded!

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

I woke up before my alarm went off this morning, which was a good thing, because I had good things planned for today.  It's supposed to be a Bert & Teresa day!  Unfortunately, though, that didn't happen, because I couldn't get ahold of Teresa to let her know that Bert and I were coming over, and Bert was too afraid that there may be sickness wherever we went, and she didn't want to take sickness back into her house to her mom, so she decided not to go.  It ended up being a good thing, because no one answered the door at Teresa's when I finally got there!  Ah, well, what's that saying about best laid plans?  Or the one about making God laugh by making plans?  Sigh....

I finally hit the road and got started on my errands.  Post Office - just a drive-thru, to mail stuff.  ATM - I need cash!  DMV (or BMV, it's up to you) - I need to get a "medical restriction" on my driver's license (sigh again) because of having diabetes.  Yes, they ask you that now, and what a pain in the ass it is!  Luckily, it only costs $3.50, not the cost of a whole new license.  Walgreen's - just a drive-thru to pick up a prescription.  Dry Cleaners outside of Amelia - to pay the electric bill.  I wish I knew a place closer to Bethel to do this, but I don't, but it's okay, because it's usually on the way to or from somewhere else.  Lunch!!  I decided to go to Lee's, since it was close to where I was.  I had 3 chicken strips, potato wedges, and green beans.  While I am here, eating my lunch, Ron calls me - he is on his way home.  At 2!!  What??  Unbelievable!  Of course, I'm not home when he's coming home early!  Sigh again.
Refreshed, I go on with my errands.  Over to Teresa's.  No answer at the door, which was a little worrisome.  She hadn't answered my phone calls and texts earlier, but I wasn't that worried, because she's always home, but now...yikes!  Besides, now I had to pee!  Drinking buckets of tea with lunch does that to me.  After knocking a couple of times, I make myself leave, although now I am worried.
I do the gotta-pee dance all the way to WalMart, where, luckily, I found a close parking spot, and my first stop inside was the bathroom!  Then I did the little bit of shopping I needed to do.  Not going on the weekend sure throws things out of whack, let me tell you!  I discovered that I forgot to get my list off the fridge, so I had to wing it, too.  Ai yi yi - that usually doesn't go very good.  I did my WalMart Walk, and even found some stuff in the Christmas Clearance section.  I wanted cards, but I guess they put those back to sell next year.
I also went to the WalMart gas station, where I put $10 in my car, since I didn't do that over the weekend, either.  I got a funny feeling it's gonna jump now that the holidays are truly over.  Maybe only a quarter or so, but still a jump.  I still LOVE these prices!

I finally got home around quarter after 4.  I carried the groceries and things in (Ron wasn't in any shape to go back out in the cold), and then I stripped off, since now I'M gonna stay in for a while!  I check my grocery list and I only forgot 2 items, so I felt pretty good about that, too.
I played on the pute while Ron finished watching his Chuck Norris movies until it was time for me to go to my TOPS meeting.  I put my jeans back on over my sweats, and a long sleeved shirt and a loose shirt on over my T-Shirt, and bundled into my coat, scarf, gloves, and hat and off I went.
When I got to the meeting, I stripped back down to my sweats and T-Shirt to weigh in (yeah, all the others really loved that - you shoulda heard 'em!  Singing the 'Stripper' music and all....), then got back dressed, because it's always colder than cold in our meeting room.  I LOST weight this week!  Oh, I was SO glad to see that - I was worried, what with the holidays and potato chips and not walking and all.  I only lost not quite half a pound (.4 to be exact), but a loss is a loss!  I'll take it!!

I got back home after the meeting, expecting a nice warm smell from the supper Ron would have ready, and -- nothing.  He didn't make any supper, and he didn't even turn NCIS on until I turned into the driveway, so he couldn't even tell me what happened!  The turd!  I'm selling him AND Chuck Norris cheap!
He did finally zap me a bowl/can of chicken noodle soup (since he didn't know what was happening on NCIS), so I got a nice warm supper, but still......

Nothing on the agenda for tomorrow.  It's supposed to be cold - single digits cold.  I will spend the day worried about Ron.  I suppose I'll do my exercises, too.  Maybe even my lay-on-the-floor exercises, too.  I'm feeling better - I'm thinking it was the splinter playing head games with me, although it may just be because I finally just DID something.
