I woke up this morning around 10:30, and, of course, Ron was already up. He was just out in his recliner, but he wasn't just lying in bed like I did when I was that sick. I guess I really AM a bigger wussy! I laid in bed for a bit, catching my games up on my tablet, before I got up. I figured he still felt a little bad, because he didn't try to rush me or anything.
When I got up, I asked him about going to work on Ruth's car, which was today's plans before he got sick, and he said he wanted to go and felt that he could. I told him that it was totally up to him, and he went on out to the garage to get his tools and things all together and loaded in the car. When I heard him back here in the house, I decided that it was time to get dressed (I didn't want to leave too early - I wanted him outside working when it was as warm as possible), and I took my time getting dressed, too. He was just sitting in his recliner when I got out here into the living room, so I guess maybe loading things up tired him out. I then piddled around even longer, checking our banking on the pute before we left. Ha! Good thing he doesn't know my ulterior motives...
We get up to Mt. Orab, to Tammy's, where Ruth's car is. We had decided that we weren't going to go in their house, we weren't going to go around them or anything, even, because we don't want to bring sickness into their house. I would go in to get Ruth's keys, and that was it. Period. Well, when we get there, they are outside and tell us that the keys are in the car (???) and then Ron starts on the car while I sit in mine. Tammy's David comes over to join (help? ha) Ron and Tammy keeps coming out of the house, splitting between talking to me or seeing what's going on with the car, both even after we explained about being sick and not wanting to infect their house. I guess we'll find out next week...
Ron does his thing with the car - jacks it up, removes the tires, bends this, unbends that, all that kind of stuff - but now he has to explain every step to David, because he is convinced the car is killed. Dead. Go get a Jeep. Finally, Ron announces that everything underneath looks great (considering), it is drivable, and another neighbor who came over agreed with him. David is still arguing items with him and stating loudly that HE wouldn't drive it. Ron says that he's gonna take it for a test run and check for weird noises, and does so. He comes back, backs it in the driveway and says "It's ready to go!" Yay! It does still need a headlight lamp, a whole blinker set, the mirror re-set on the right side, and the mirror inside has fallen off, too, but, by golly, it is drivable!
Since it was almost 3 now, Ron and I went to get some lunch before driving on up to Winchester to bring Ruth back to Tammy's so she can get to work tonight. Since I knew Ron's stomach was still wonky and he couldn't really eat "food," and I knew my stomach wasn't back to 100%. He needed something plain like french fries or chips or crackers, and I needed to go to the bathroom (I wasn't going in Tammy's, remember?), so we had to find a restaurant. After a bunch of yes-and-no, we picked LaRosa's. Once there, we got an order of garlic bread - garlic is good for everything, right? - and then I got a calzone with the cheeses, pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom. No sauce at all, unless you count the cheeses. Ron got an order of fries. They cut the calzone into thirds, and I could only eat the 2 end pieces. I brought the center piece home for my supper.
We went on up and got Ruth, and brought her back to Mt. Orab. We stopped on the way where the accident occurred to see if we could possibly find her phone, which hasn't been seen since then. But, no, we didn't find it. Bummer - we were hoping. When we got to Mt. Orab, we went to Auto Zone, where she got a headlight and rearview mirror glue. Then we took her back to Tammy's, where Ron put her headlight in. That's all we can do today, and we head for home - the long way, through Georgetown, where we have to go pick up Ron's truck.
We finally got home. He unloaded the car, and we both collapsed into our recliners for a little while. He dozed off, but I got on the pute for a while.
We just watched TV all night, and now it's bedtime. Trust me, the bed IS calling! Ron has already answered its call.
There are very little plans for tomorrow. Church, lunch, football. The last Sunday for these plans until September. The next football game, in 2 weeks, will be in the evening.
