Man, do I owe you all an apology!! I did not realize that it had been so long since I had written - but evidently it has, and I am truly sorry. My only excuse is that I was doing the going-out-and-getting-donations, and my back has not been happy with me, and I've been going to bed rather early (for me, anyway). I have also been sleeping very well, too, which is a good thing, I suppose.
Wednesday, I went down the road - down Beechmont - and hit all the businesses that I hadn't gotten to on Monday (which is when I went over to Eastgate).
Thursday, I went back down the road to go back to all the places that asked me to come back - most of them specified "on Thursday" even - and got more donations. I even went out later in the day, so that I could go to the restaurants that didn't open until 4. In a way, it was nice, because when I was on my way home, I managed to call our friends Harry and Donna and we arranged to meet them over in Felicity at the FeedMill for supper - and that was a nice outing. I even got a donation from the kind folks at FeedMill, too, so it was a double blessing!
Friday, I went back uptown here in Bethel to touch base with the businesses here in town that I hadn't gotten a definite answer from - nothing like follow-up, right?
Saturday, Ron, Corgan, and I went out to do our errands after I did my weigh-in. Not surprisingly, I have gained almost 2.5 pounds this week. Even though I got plenty of exercise getting in and out of the car all week, I also didn't eat very well, either. I ate out at restaurants for lunch, and then had a decent supper every night. At night, too, I just vegged out in my recliner because my back was nagging me, so...not a surprise. But, damn, do I have to start getting back on track!
When we left, I told the guys that we had about 6 stops to make and they laughed at me. "We don't have to do that much!" they both claimed. "HA! Watch," I said.
1) Walgreen's - prescriptions, our 2014 read-out, and a donation.
2) Cracker Barrel for fuel for us. Corgan got chicken-n-dumplings; Ron got the Country Boy breakfast with pork chops; and I got the double meat breakfast, with a side of the hashbrown casserole. We all enjoyed our meals very much - and I didn't even shop!
3) Jungle Jim's - Ron bought the ribs he needs for our Super Bowl party.
4) gas for my car - I got it over in Eastgate for $1.88 - I thought that was a GREAT price!
5) Chipotle at Bach-Buxton - one last follow-up for a donation. No success, they are "concentrating on schools at this time."
6) WalMart - grocery shopping. Just another wonderful Saturday errand.
7) IGA in Bethel - we needed a bag of ice, and this is the closest place to home with the best price.
What do guys know?? How many trips do you think they would have made because they wouldn't have stopped at all these places? One of these days, they might actually listen to me - but I won't hold my breath.
Josh, Chelle, and Jean came up for supper and to pick Corgan up, as usual on a Saturday night.
I made the shrimp dish that I make (shrimp, lemon juice, Italian seasoning) for our supper, along with boiled potatoes, green beans, and corn. Instead of making mashed potatoes, I figured everyone could mash the potatoes on their own plate. No big deal, right.
Well, it shouldn't have been - but when I tried to carry the pot of potatoes over to the table, I dropped it. I'm still not sure how. It just slipped and, of course, landed top down and potatoes splashed all over the floor. I was glad that I had drained most of the water out of them! Oh, my God, what a mess that was!! Ron and Josh helped scoop up the now-mashed potatoes and we threw towels over the sloppy mess, and went ahead with the rest of supper - there sure wasn't time to make anything else. They all liked the shrimp a lot, and I was glad about that, but I was still bummed about the potatoes. Josh even made a joke about it while we were eating - "hey, Mom, you know what? I bet these would taste real good with some potatoes!" "Yeah, yeah, kiss m'ass." Normal stuff, ya know.
After supper, Josh, Jean, and I played 2 games of Jeopardy on the Wii, and then we played 2 games of Wheel of Fortune. Chelle sat back at my desk and called out answers - much like Ron does when he "doesn't play games" with us.
Sunday. Church, lunch....no football - boo.
After church, we went up to Georgetown to Country Inn for our lunch, which was the big breakfast that we both like so much.
We got back home, where he did a load of his work clothes, then watched some of the movies he got for Christmas the rest of the afternoon. I ran a sink full of Pine-Sol water and dug out the BIG mop (no Swifter job!) and scrubbed the kitchen floor - ugh, what a job that was! Then, I sewed up my quilt and my jacket pocket, then just vegged out in my recliner.
When it got to be evening, we turned on our dead guy shows, and that was that.
Tomorrow will be the start of starting over - diet, exercise, getting back on track - I've GOT to!!
