12/31/14
New Year's Eve

I felt like crap all day today.  I woke up around 9:30, stayed in bed reading and playing on the tablet, then moved out to my recliner around noon.  I just sat there and read all day - I didn't even bring the tablet out into the living room with me!  I read one of the books I got for Christmas, and then I got up and made myself do up the dishes that were sitting there on the counter.  I didn't want to start the new year with dirty dishes sitting on the counter!
We weren't getting Corgan tonight - the first time in his life that he didn't spend NYE with Grandpa and Granny! - because they were all staying home instead of going to their friends, and he wanted to be there, too.  (sniff, sniff)

After that, it was back into the recliner with a new book.   I got almost halfway through that book before Ron called me to let me know that he was going to be late tonight.  I told him that it was okay, because I wasn't going to walk today anyway - I wasn't even going to get dressed!  He said good, because he sure didn't want me to walk in the dark (that's not happening anyway) and now I knew he wouldn't be worried.
When he finally got home - when it was going on 7 - we decided to just order a pizza for our supper, even though this is probably a busy pizza night.  We watched Quantum Leap all night long, only taking a break when the pizza was delivered, and we got finished with it.  We watched the last episode tonight, with it getting over at 11:58, just in time to turn the channel to watch the ball drop and welcome in the New Year.  We did just that, then turned off the TV and went on to bed.  We ARE old geezers, ya know.

New Year's Day

I woke up this morning around 10, then played on the tablet for just over an hour.  Then I called Ron back into the bedroom to discuss what we are going to do on this first day of the year - a day off for him!  We finally decided to go down to Bob Evans because I had gift cards that I had received for Christmas and it wouldn't cost us any money (his check was kinda short because of the holiday).
So, after getting up and getting dressed, off we went.  We got down there just after noon, and they were kinda crowded, so we had to wait for a table.  Once we got seated, though, we just took our time and had a nice leisurely lunch, although both of us chose breakfast - the country fried steak breakfast - and we really enjoyed it.
On our way home, we stopped at IGA and got some of the 5-for-$20 meat, including 'snausages,' and potatoes, since that's what we decided to have for supper tonight.

Then, it was back home and a day in our recliners watching TV.  A nice relaxing day, just the way we like it!  I'm glad my back felt a little better, but I still don't know why it's been feeling the way it has been, and that's worrisome.  There's nothing I can do about it, though, so I can't let myself worry about it, and I just have to deal with it.  It is strange, but...

At 7, I went out and made our supper.  After eating, he went back to sleep and I went back to reading.  And that was our evening.
After playing on the tablet while sitting in the recliner, I finally moved to the pute to write my blog.

Happy New Year, everyone!  May it be everything you want it to be, and everything you need it to be.
