Today started, as usual, with the alarm going off at 9. Ron was still in bed with me, or back in bed with me - whichever, and after hitting snooze a couple of times (as usual), he got up and took his shower, and then it was my turn.
At church today, the Gospel was the story of Lazarus. For some reason, even though I've heard this a million zillion times, it just really struck my heart different this year. Probably because of all the problems we've had this past year, and knowing the problems we'll have ahead resolving these same problems, it just seemed to me that to have such a great friend in such troubling times is what everyone needs. But will 'everyone' recognize such a friend when that friend, amongst all the friends, shows up for them? Things like that, that's what was in my mind. I felt so grateful that I was given the strength to continue our fight - because, trust me, I was ready to throw in the towel before! - and now we are going to try our best to clear things up ourselves. It's going to be a long, rough summer, but knowing that we have such good friends - in family friends, in friend friends, and in spiritual (saintly? Godly?) friends - we WILL make it, and make it cheerfully.
(It also made me wonder what happened to Lazarus after that, because I don't think he's ever mentioned again, but that's a whole nother story....)
After church, we went up to Georgetown to get some breakfast. We both love that big breakfast up at Country Inn, and it sure sounded good today! Of course, knowing I was getting that for lunch made me know supper was gonna have to be skimpy, because that breakfast 1000 calories all by itself! Oh, well, I'll survive. It's Sunday, and I'm not gonna do much anyway.
When we got home, we played mini-golf some more, then Ron went out into the garage and piddled around for a while. I went out and he helped me put the new Bengals stickers on my car, as well as the antennae dude that Steve (my 'second' son) brought me when he came to the Super Bowl party! If I didn't tell you thank you a hundred million times then, Steve, thank you a few more times!! I thought I was gonna have to wait til next football season to get another one of those - I am so pleased to have a new one! Ron even Super-Glued this one on, so it couldn't just get snatched off, like the other one did. Great!
I played on the pute while he was outside, but I the doors open and enjoyed some of the beautiful day, too.
At six, I asked him if he wanted to walk or ride bikes or something while it was still daylight, but he said no, he thought he'd done enough for the day, and was ready for some supper. He closed everything down and came in.
We made hamburgers for supper - just hamburgers, no sides (well, he ate some pretzels) - and played mini-golf some more. Corgan is gonna be SO surprised next weekend. His grandparents aren't such pushovers after all! LOL Of course, the first time he loses, we'll have to play a different game. Wonder where he gets that from?
After three games, Ron decided he'd had enough and just wanted to 'watch' TV, so we shut down the Wii and turned the TV on. I got on the pute and he promptly started watching whatever show he chose through his eyelids. He is so funny! But, I'm gonna keep him - don't get any ideas!
When I put my food into MFP, as I expected, my breakfast was 1000 calories, and the hamburger patty was almost 200, so I ended up just over 200 short for the day. I can live with that for a Sunday. I would dearly love to have a snack, but I can't even have my popcorn and milk, because my milk is over 200 calories - ay, yi, yi! Oh, well. Maybe a nut bar when I go to bed - you think maybe it doesn't count if I've already closed out my MFP for the day? Oooooh, that's bad...
Big grocery shopping trip tomorrow with my sister! I'm looking forward to that, and I'm even going to eat before I leave the house - how about that?
