I got up at 9 this morning, because Josh and all were coming around 10 to dye eggs for tomorrow. I had things to get ready for that, as well as my weigh-in, which I do every Saturday morning, and a short time to do it all in.
I did my weigh-in first off, and I weighed just about exactly the same as last week! I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but at least it's not a gain - which I'm pretty sure it will be next week. Then I dove into the things around the house that needed done. I had boiled the eggs and cleaned the cups we're dying in, so I just needed to clean off the table and get all the 'ingredients' together, things like that, so it really didn't take me too long. Since Ron and Corgan were outside playing with lawnmowers, I could do whatever I needed to uninterrupted, and I did so. I soon got done, and got me some pute time in before they got here!
They got here, and we did our egg-dying. It was so much fun! Sometimes I wish that we dyed many more eggs, just because we have so much fun doing this, but we just don't need that many eggs, and we can't eat that many eggs, either!
When we got done with the eggs, after some discussion, we all decided that I would make us some lunch, because Ron was still working on their car. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to figure out its problem during the morning, and even after Josh got here and was helping him, nothing much could get accomplished, which was disappointing to me, because that meant that I couldn't go to the baby shower I was planning on going to this afternoon. I just couldn't go with the car situation unsettled. I was really disappointed, but it couldn't be helped. I had to scramble to find something to make for lunch, because I wasn't expecting that - I thought they would have left for home by then - and finally we all agreed on Johnny Marzetti. I'm glad I keep the makings of that handy! After we ate our lunch, we all took a walk down Hoover Road - even Ron. He said by then that he needed a break from the cars and lawnmowers, so he walked with us! Yay, Ron! I managed to walk 3/4 of a mile before my hips forced me to turn around. I walked back and waited for them at the stump on the curves while they walked on to the end of the road and came back. So, I walked for a mile and a half and they all walked two miles. It was such a beautiful day, too. It was very enjoyable.
When we got back, Josh, Jean and I played a game of Jeopardy on the Wii, Chelle read her Kindle, Corgan played outside (driving the Zero Turn around the yard - you should see him. He 'parallel parks' between two patches of pampas grass, then pulls out, drives around, then does it again. He's funny.) and Ron went back to work on their car. Josh, as usual, trounced me and Jean, but only because me and Jean both bet all of our money on Daily Doubles and lost. Silly of us, and we knew it, but if we don't try...
Finally, Ron declared their car done around 5 and they went home (at least, I think it was 5 - I lost track of time!). I played on the pute for a bit, then went and did up the dishes from this morning, getting ready for the big day tomorrow. I got everything I needed to get out, out, ready to do what needed to be done later, because that is no small task around here. I just played on the pute until Ron came in, which was after 8.
We zapped leftovers for our supper, played a round of mini-golf, then it was time to do Easter Bunny stuff. As I said, that's no small task around here, and it takes quite a while. Opening bags of stuff and placing the stuff in the proper basket, and then bags of candy and distributing all of that between all of the baskets. My back is killing me!
We still have to hide the eggs here in the living room, but I needed a break (and he's already asleep), so I took the time to go to MFP and write my blog. Because of my exercise today, I managed to sneak in less than 100 calories short for the day. But that's all that can be said for it, besides it was YUMMY!
I doubt I will be here tomorrow.
Happy, Blessed Easter to all. Enjoy the day, each other, and your families - all the little things - those are the memories.
