CHANGE of PLANS.......phooey!

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

Today was supposed to be a Bert and Teresa Day, but Bert was still feeling sick - even feeling worse - so she called it off.  She called and made a doctor appointment, hoping we could still go after the appointment, but it ended up she had bronchitis, along with other stuff, and was contagious, and it would be better if she didn't 'endanger' us and our families.  So -- phooey!  We'll have to try again next week.  It'll be much better for her to get well!

So, I got up early, got those dishes done, got me a shower and now was going nowhere.
Well.
That's okay with me, because I sure don't mind sitting and playing on the pute all day!  Which is what I ended up doing, just like any other day.  I had my work done - I had even put away some of the laundry while choosing an outfit for today - and was satisfied with my output (all but some exercise, but you know how I feel about that) for the day.

I made me my potato soup and tuna meal for my lunch, and just hung on the pute all afternoon.  As it got later, though, I started feeling dizzy-ish every time I got up, which was really weird.  I was staggering around like I was drunk or something.  I wish I had been drunk, I would have known what the hell was going on then!  I felt really strange, just kinda whoopedy-loopish, like I was listing instead of standing straight up (if that makes any sense), but I felt fine, not sick at all.  Just when I stood up or tried to move was it noticeable to me.  Like I said, really weird.  Around 4, I went to lay down & read, possibly take a nap until time to go to my TOPS meeting.  I didn't expect to see Ron at all, because he's not been getting home until after 6.  I plugged my cell phone into the charger in the plug that runs on the on-off switch by the door, and was just reading.  Around 4:30, I heard Ron's truck at the end of Hoover!  I quickly turned off my lamp & pulled the cover up, to see if I could fool him into thinking I was asleep.  I didn't - he came in and flipped the switch up & down to turn the light on, but it didn't work (because I had the phone plugged in) and I started laughing and he caught me.  I make a terrible fake sleeping person - I make a terrible liar, anyway!  I should have known better.  Oh, well, it was fun trying, and we had fun laughing about it.

He went back out to work on the brakes on his truck since he had gotten home so early - he wanted to beat the rain - and I went ahead and took a little nap.  My alarm went off on 5:45, and he came in to check on me, and as he was in the house, the rain (the storm!) started.  He went running back out to clean up his tools, and by the time he got back in the house, the rain was over.  That was a very quick, very fierce storm!  Wow!  As I drove up to my meeting, there were tree branches and stuff all over the road.

At the TOPS meeting, I weighed in, and - as I expected - Easter killed me!  I gained 1.6 pounds again, the exact same as last week.  So, in total, I gained 3.2 pounds over Easter.  Ugh.  But now it's over, and I can get rid of it and get to my 50-pound mark, or lower!!!  I am so ready to be there!

When I got home, Ron and I decided to make hot dogs for supper, and I had ten bread & butter pickle slices with mine.  As Ron was putting supper on, I thought to check my sugar, and it was down to 56!  FIFTY-SIX!  What?!  Why?!  I don't feel like I'm having a sugar low, but damn - it could be why this weird dizzy crap is going on, but I've never felt that before.  Ai-yi-yi!  Ron brought me his Easter candy bowl, and I ate some of his candy.  Then supper was done, and we ate.
After about an hour, I was still hungry, so I ate a nut bar.  After another half hour, I was still hungry - which is totally weird, I've never been so hungry after a sugar low before - so I made me a popcorn & milk snack.  Finally, that seemed to hit the spot!  Geez.

Putting my food into MFP, I ended up around 100 calories short for the day.  I was surprised, I thought for sure all that eating tonight would put me way over.  I was glad to see that it didn't, though, especially after the gain this week.

Nothing planned tomorrow, except taking stuff up to church for the rummage sale, which might take me half an hour.  WhooHoo.
