Making up for staying at home yesterday

Friday, April 4, 2014

Woke this morning to the alarm at 8am.  EIGHT!  Ugh.  But, I had to leave home shortly after nine and I had things to do before leaving, so....first on that list was hitting snooze too many times, which I did.  I love crossing things off of my To-Do List!
Then it was getting up, shower, dress, balance the checkbook, write checks, get mail together, check over shopping list, and get going on time.  Good thing I had done a BUNCH of this piddly stuff last night, right?
I did get gone on schedule, and met my friends as planned, and we went on over to Milford to Norm's visitation and funeral.  We didn't stay for the funeral, because we didn't know the family all that much, just Carol, so didn't feel that comfortable staying for everything.  But Carol knew we were there, and we did get to talk to her for a few minutes.

They dropped me off at my car (after a side trip BACK to the funeral home because I forgot my jacket - I felt so stupid), which was at WalMart, and I went down to the bank, then to Walgreen's, then to Bob Evans for a bite of lunch (I got the banana creme stacked pancakes - yum!), over to get gasoline, then up to WalMart to finish the Easter shopping.  I got me and Ron some shrimp for supper tonight - I got lemons to cook with them, too, and I already had the Hidden Valley Ranch packets at home.
We are ready for Easter, I think!  I still have to get eggs, but I don't want to get them too early.
I'll do my real grocery shopping with Ruth on Monday, so all I got today was Easter stuff.  I was proud of myself for controlling that urge in me to pick up this and pick up that, and waiting for Monday for 'real groceries.'  Do I need a real life, or what?

I finally got back home around 2:30, and I got all our Easter stuff sorted and listed, and an email sent out to the whole family, so everyone knows all the details.  It was quite a job, but I got about a dozen bags down to 3 or 4.  WhooHoo!
Then I got on the pute, and got my games all caught up.  When Ron got home, I started our supper.  I sliced the lemons and put them in/on the bottom of a cake pan.  I poured the shrimp, which I had let thaw, on top of the lemons, and then I sprinkled the Hidden Valley Ranch packet on top of the shrimp.  I squeezed a little lemon juice (from a fake lemon) over top, just to make sure the shrimp/ranch mix were all wet.  I baked them in the oven (350) for about 20 minutes.  Oh, my, they were so good - so moist and juicy and oh, so tangy!  We didn't have anything else with them but butter bread.

At seven, I had a meeting about the Quarter Auction coming up next Thursday for the ALB.  They (we) have received SO many beautiful donations!  It's gonna be a great quarter auction!!  It's gonna be at St. Mary's, so if you aren't doing anything, please come up and have some fun and support a great cause.  Diane will be calling the numbers and all, and if you know her, you know she does a good job and keeps it moving!  There will be refreshments available, too, and a split-the-pot.  I am going to be the one handing Diane the next item to auction off.

I got home and got back on the pute, but I'm gonna go beat Ron's ass playing mini-golf on the Wii.  Ha!!

When I tried to put my food into MFP, they didn't have the pancakes I had at Bob Evans for lunch, so I don't know my total calories for the day.  I am assuming that I am under, but you never know.  I couldn't close my day, and I'll just leave it as is, with only my supper showing.  Blah.

Ron and I are looking forward to our big 'date day' tomorrow - we're going to the movies!  Looks like we're going to see 'Noah.'  I wanted to see 'Son of God,' but it's not showing where we have a gift card to, so we had to choose something else.  Oh, well, we're still going!!
