I woke up this morning just before 9, which ended up being a good thing, because I got a phone call to come help set up the Quarter Auction, and could I be there at 10:30. So much for my walk before going up to help, huh? Oh, well, I will take my pedometer and see how many steps I take while I am doing this, and it just might be better than walking. Ha!
I make my tea and get up to the church. We heave tables around, move chairs hither and yon, carry the items in, arrange and rearrange them numerous times on the tables, and finally get everything all set up. The main committee members bought everyone lunch at noon for helping. They were going to Arby's, so I got me a fish sandwich. That was it, just the sandwich. I thought about potato cakes, but resisted. Everyone else was getting turnovers, curly fries, shakes, and things, but I resisted. I was strong!
I checked my pedometer when I left at 2 when we were done setting up - I walked 2200 steps - a mile is 2000 steps, so I walked a little over a mile! It was more muscle work than walking, too, so my arms got a workout, too! How about that?
I came back home and played on the pute for a while, getting my games all caught up. After that, I packed up some snacks for us and changed, then just sat and read my book until time to leave, to go back up to the church. As a worker, I had to be back up there at 5, so I didn't really have time to eat supper (it's way too early!) and I had to run to the store for drinks, ice, and money, since Ron was going to be running late, thanks to Rumpke sending him out for "one more run" at 4:30. Assholes. I took myself a can of chicken salad to eat once I could sit down for 2 seconds, which I did. I had also bought a box of Little Debbie Nutty Bars for a snack when I was at the store because Ron wasn't going to have time to eat, either, now, and he was going to be hungry when he got there, and I had one of the bars in a two-pack.
The Quarter Auction went on. I was the person who was getting the items lined up - what was coming up next to bid - and I was walking back and forth, back and forth, all night long, from table to table. Occasionally, there was just standing while numbers were being called, but I was mostly on the move. After it was over, it was putting all the supplies away and then rearranging all the tables and chairs, so that the Center is ready for the Fish Fry tomorrow night. Again - muscle work.
Walking out, I checked my pedometer. I walked 4775 steps. Almost 2 1/2 miles!!
That means I've walked 3 1/2 miles today!! No wonder I'm tired! No wonder my feet are throbbing!
I ate another Nutty Bar (both bars) when I got home. I figured my exercise would kinda cancel out my calories, and I could indulge. I was right. Putting my food and exercise into MFP, I ended up over 600 calories short for the day, but MFP did not holler at me - I guess because of the exercise. Yay! I don't like MFP hollering at me. But I'm happy for those numbers. I was okay with what I ate today (I was under on my calories even before I put my exercise in) and I was very okay with the exercise I got today - even though my feet hate me every time I stand up, and I MUST stand up one more time tonight, to go from here at the pute to bed. Ugh - not looking forward to that.
My weekly grocery shopping tomorrow. Fun, fun! Not that we really need that much, but it gives me something to do, and I get a WalMart Walk in! WhooHoo!
