I woke up a little after ten this morning, read for a little bit - finishing my book, then got up and went off to visit the vampires. I have a heart doctor visit late next week, and they ordered these blood tests, so I had to get them done - I should have gone last week, even - so they can have the results. I'm not sure if I'm hoping for good results or not. On one hand, yes. I want my heart to be doing wonderfully, and always doing better. On the other, no. I want my disability claim to have substance. Ack!
Although after a heart attack, even a mild one like mine was, it does take years and years for things - health-wise - to get back to 'normal' or even better, which I certainly do hope is happening, what with my better diet, more exercise, and resulting weight loss.
Things were a little weird at the hospital. Even though the doctor's office told me there'd be no problem with the lab, things in the lab happen just a little differently. They had a heck of a time finding the paperwork that was faxed over yesterday, but they finally did. I really appreciated them taking the time to pursue it for me, because they could have easily told me they "just can't find it" and that would have been a whole different ball of wax. A big MESSY ball of wax, even! So I was so glad I could get this done and over with after driving all the way down there.
Coming back up 125, I decided to stop at Olive Garden for my lunch. Ron and I had talked last night about what I could do for lunch, and he had given me some money. Luckily, they had their 2-meals-for-13-bucks deal going on, and I got that for us. Why get only one meal for 10, when you can get two for 13? I chose the five-cheese ziti de fourno (I hope that's spelled right) for my lunch, and brought home the mezzaluna ravioli (I hope that's spelled right, too) for Ron for supper. I also enjoyed salad (dry, with ranch on the side) and three breadsticks with my lunch.
I just sat there, taking my time eating my lunch and reading my book, and oh, it was so nice! I didn't leave there until 2:30! There's something to be said about being 'retired,' after all, isn't there?
I got back home, and just piddled around, getting on the pute and all that, for the afternoon. Ron got home about 5:30 and we talked about supper before I left for my TOPS meeting. He decided that he was going to make salads for us, and not eat what I brought home tonight. Ah, well, it'll keep in the fridge. He'll eat it tomorrow, I'm sure. He doesn't want the veggies "to go bad" so wants to use them, at least once. Makes sense, so I guess we're having salads for supper. I'm just glad it's warm enough to have salads!
I went to my TOPS meeting, and weighed in, as usual. I lost 1.6 pounds! Yay, me! Almost a pound and a half - I'll take it! I also ended up Loser of the Week, which totally surprised me. We had a really good meeting. I just so appreciate the support of these women, it's phenomenal. One woman, who goes to Florida for the winter, was back today, and one of the first things she said to me was that it looked as though I'd lost weight since she'd seen me in January. I looked in my book, and I had lost 12 pounds since then, but what a boost it was to hear that! For someone as large as I am, for someone to notice a 12-pound loss, and mention it to you, makes you feel so good and want to do so much more, which I am certainly working on. I am only halfway through my journey, you know.
When I got home, Ron did have our salads ready. He was eating his, and mine was sitting there waiting for me, so I settled down to watch NCIS and enjoy my salad - the second one of the day! - and I thought that the salad for supper would balance out the huge lunch. I knew it would be close, mostly because I didn't do any real exercise today.
I was right - putting my food into MFP, the number turned RED. Blah. In the end, I was 400 calories over for the day. 400! I didn't expect that much, but what's done is done. I wish I could tell how much dressing I really use. I get it on the side, which I figure is 2 TB, and what I put in, but I never use it all. But that's my choice - 1TB or 2 TB. Sometimes, MFP is a little rough. Not that just the dressing is to blame, but...
I am staying home tomorrow, then Thursday will be busy, too. Quarter Auction day! Then comes Friday and the weekend. I am tired already.
