Donations off to the Rummage Sale....feeling like I accomplished something

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

For some reason, I woke up this morning very early.  VERY.  I am talking 8:30, and to me, that's early.  I know to some of you, it's sleeping in, but that's not my life any more, so I am dragging ass right about now, so I sound deranged tonight, that's why.
I layed in bed and read until 10:30 - quarter til 11, then my back hurt too much, and I got up and started putting together the things I was taking up to the Rummage Sale.  Not clothes, they were already all packed up, but the stuff.  You know what I mean, the decor and knick-knacks and things like that.  I am so reluctant to give up any of my stuff, it's pathetic.  But I did manage to fill a small box with that kind of stuff, and I took it up to the church just before noon.

It ended up being a good decision to go when I did, because when I got up there, they were all leaving to go to lunch!  I was invited to join them - they went to a little restaurant named Kel's here in town - so I did!  I chose to have one of their lunch specials - the pan-fried chicken (2 pieces) with mashed potatoes and green beans as sides.  Kel's has had a reputation of being 'slow' and today was no exception, but with the wonderful company, it was not a hardship to wait for our food.  The first people who got there had ordered before we got there, and they got there food first (of course), and finished first, but we all sat there and talked until we all had our food (we called it the 'first wave' and the 'second wave'), then some went back up to the church to continue sorting, etc. while the rest stayed with us.  It was a very enjoyable lunch, but it lasted for two hours - much longer than I thought my run uptown would be.  Oh, well.
When I got back up to the church, I went into the office to talk to them about another event coming up, and that took another half hour or so.

When I got back, sure as shit, the man from the Social Security office, who has not called me back either Monday or Tuesday, or yet this morning (and I'm only running uptown for a little bit), has called.  Dammit, dammit, dammit!  Our game of phone tag continues - I call him back, telling him that I will be home tomorrow, but not Friday.  I was going to work at the Rummage Sale on Friday, but after getting on the pute, I find that Uncle Buddy's funeral will be Friday, so Change of Plans for that day.
I am spending the day tomorrow making things for the bake sale at the Rummage Sale (they do LOVE my Oreo Balls!) and now for the family get-together after the funeral.  I will be busy, busy, busy all day tomorrow baking and making!

Ron gets home from work a little after 5.  He had his cabbage steaks for his supper, and I had a frozen tuna noodle casserole.  Not much of a supper, but I had a pretty decent lunch.  I was still hungry after supper, so I ate a nut bar for a snack not too long after supper.  I am not understanding why I am still hungry after supper this last couple of days - it's just not right, and definitely not normal.  Something's going on, I just know it.

I put all my food into MFP, but didn't close it out, because I thought I might still have a snack later.  At that point, I was still 200+ calories short for the day, but I couldn't log back in to close it out (and I resisted snacking - yay, me!).  I'll have to try again to get back in there to close it out, either tonight or tomorrow, we'll have to see.  But knowing that I was 200+ short is good enough for me.  When I get back in there, I will get it closed out.  I hope it works tomorrow, I don't want my streak to get busted!  I'm up to 38 days right now.

I'm going to bed now.  I am tired, I am satisfied with my day, and I am happy with my plans for tomorrow.  Making and baking, baking and making.  Cook, cook, cook.  If only these things didn't cause dirty dishes.....if only.  Sigh.
