9/19
Today started as my days usually do, with me reading a little bit before I got out of bed. Then I got up, got dressed, and went shopping. I went to Walgreens for prescriptions, Bob Evans for lunch (I got the half sandwich and soup combo - a turkey & bacon melt sandwich and potato soup), and WalMart for my grocery shopping.
I also got myself a new pair of jeans while shopping. I grabbed a few pair to try on, mostly size 20s because that's what my (old) "skinny" jeans are, and I thought that's what I'd best start with, and then I grabbed a pair of 16/18s just in case, because I didn't want to have to come back out and start all over. Well, to my surprise, the 20s were all still too big in the hips and thighs/legs, so I tried on the 16/18s, and they were SO comfortable, and fit the hips and legs, too! 16/18s!! Teens! I, Rita O'Toole, am into teen numbers and out of the twenties, in pants!!! Can you believe it? I can't. I am truly amazed by that. I did a happy dance in my heart, right there in the store and the whole rest of the afternoon, too!
We got Corgan for the night, and everything was okay for a while. I told Ron that I had an errand to Williamsburg, and I thought we'd all go out for the night when I do this errand, but he grumbled about it, so he was going to make supper when I went. No big deal. Then the shit hit the fan. All of a sudden, Granny is the stupidest person on the planet and Grandpa evidently agrees because he does, and says, nothing - absolutely nothing - to defend Granny. Well, Granny leaves. Just leaves. I don't have to take that kind of crap in my own house, and I won't. I wasn't going to go quite so early, so I ended up having an extra hour to kill, so I went to that little restaurant out by 32 in Williamsburg to have some supper. Then I ran my errand, and I still just drove around and around before going home, because I just didn't want to. I finally got home 9:30ish, played on the pute for a bit, then went to bed. I doubt if I spoke ten words after I got home.
9/20
I got up early this morning - the alarm went off at 7:45, so I could get up and leave the house by 8, 8:15. I had to get up to church and have some singles with me. We were having a book sale, and we needed singles to start out. I had to go to different stores and buy little things to break bigger bills, and that's not easy to do! I finally made it, though, and got up to church on time.
After we got the book sale up and running, I went up to the bank and got some money for us (from our account) and I figured it would all work out in the end. Even though it was town-wide yard sale (weekend) day, we didn't have all that many customers. We talked about that off and on during the day - we didn't know if the yard sales helped or hurt, if people even READ books anymore (because of electronics), or if it was lack of advertising, or what. But we ended up having over $100. in sales, yes, thanks to me at the end - I just couldn't resist that whole table of love books over there. I bought a big box of 80. I'm so bad! So, the money I took out of the bank for starter money ended up staying in the box to be profit. Everyone who worked the sale got to take home a "bag" of books as payment, but I insisted on paying for the box of books. I didn't feel it would be right to just take that many, but I did get a few more in a bag as my payment, too. I was very satisfied with what I came home with, and the leftover books will be at the Rummage Sale in October, and I'll be able to get more of them then.
I had a hankering to make a roast for supper, and I knew that I had venison in the freezer, so I figured I was all set for supper. Ron and Corgan came up to help close up and clean up after the book sale, then Ron had to go to work - on a Saturday afternoon! Corgan and I had to go to the store for carrots to go with the roast, and the evening was set. Well, I forgot, and drove right on home. Well phooey. Okay, no problem. I'll get the roast out of the freezer and in the oven, then run back uptown for the carrots. Guess what? There are NO roasts in the freezer. Venison stew meat, burger, but no roasts. Wonderful. We run back uptown and get the carrots and beef roasts. Not exactly what I had planned, but it will do. I like my beef (well, all meat) well done, so since I had figured Ron would get home at 6:30, I started the first roast at 4:30, and the second one at 5:30, so the sickos who still like the cow mooing would be happy. Josh's family all got here, and even though Ron didn't get home until quarter after 7, I had turned the oven down, so the roasts were just about perfect!
After we all got done with supper, we sat out around the fire pit. It was such a beautiful evening!

Today was pretty much a normal Sunday. Church, lunch, football. Up with the alarm to shower, do my Wii weigh-in (I gained a pound and a half! sigh), and dress (in my NEW jeans!) for church, then we went up to Georgetown to eat. We both had the big breakfast that we like, then home to watch football.
Ron decided to make a pot of chili for supper, and went out to the freezer to get the hamburger and venison burger and discovered that the freezer had been left open at some point, and everything was half thawed, or half frozen, depending on how you want to look at it. Guess who was the last one in the freezer? Yep, yours truly. Wonderful.
What a weekend for me. I'm a piece of shit on Friday, I'm totally stupid on Saturday (because I don't even know what I have in my freezer), and I have probably ruined everything in said freezer on Sunday, because evidently I don't even know how to close the damn thing. Never mind that Ron has so much shit in the garage that there's no room to move in there, right? God, why am I even still on this earth?
Anyway, my Bengals won today! They looked totally awesome as they tromped the Tennessee Titans 33-7, and they played quite a few 'trick' plays that (actually) worked and I am in the running in the football pool again! WhooHoo!
Here's hoping for a better week.
