Labor Day
First off, I must tell you that I lied to you yesterday. I said that I was starting a new diet plan today, but that's wrong - today is a "to hell with calories day" and the new plan starts tomorrow, so I should have said 'day after tomorrow' in yesterday's blog. But, with today being the holiday - with its attendant cookouts, BBQs, get-togethers, whatever you want to call them - I'm not counting calories today! It's a big ol' cheat day and then some...
I get up this morning at 10 and make up another batch of individual apple pies, finishing up the apples that were done yesterday. I had plenty of pie 'guts' but hadn't cut enough dough circles to use it all up, and I did that first, because it uses the oven the hottest. When they were done, I made the baked beans I was making to take with us as our donation to dinner, complete with bacon on top. Oh, they made the house smell so good!
Ron texted that he was coming home 25 minutes before we were supposed to be there, so I waited for him to get home, shower and change and we went together.
The rest of the day was spent at our friends' house, where we enjoyed the ribs, sausages, brats, all the side dishes everyone made and brought. After we had all eaten, we played dominoes the rest of the afternoon and evening. We left for home at nine, because Ron was pretty tired by then, and my back was letting me know it wasn't happy with me, either.
I wasn't counting calories today, so I didn't enter anything in MFP. Tomorrow starts the new plan, and I'm pretty sure MFP is going to be hollering at me every day. I'll give it a week, then may have to give MFP a miss for this month. We'll see how that goes, and, also, how I feel.
I was pretty proud of myself, though - two whole days of being up and not laying back down to rest my back during the day! Not one time! My back doesn't appreciate it as much as my brain does, though. I don't know what I have to do to make my back appreciate it...
