Happy Homemaker...and then TOPS

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

Today started, as usual, with me waking around 10 and reading a bit, then getting up.  But when I got up, I started playing Happy Homemaker instead of getting on the pute.  Man, what a decision that was.  There were so many dishes!  I couldn't get to them yesterday because of having Corgan for the day, so I even had the extra day's worth, on top of all the weekend's dishes.  I ran the dishwater and got started - that's the only way to get through something, right?  Get started and keep going.  I also got a load of laundry going - this time, towels - and I felt as though I was accomplishing things!
Bryan showed up to finish up under the house around 12:30, and he just got to work.  So, he's thumping and bumping around down there, and, I'm sure to him, I'm thumping and bumping around up here in the house, too, because I keep walking around the kitchen and living room, as well as down the hall every now and then.  I was hungry (probably because I didn't eat much yesterday, remember) and I ate 2 sausage, egg, and cheese muffins for my lunch before lying down for a while around 2:00 and reading while eating.  Then, since I had drained the first sinkful of dishwater, which had gotten cold, I ran another to wash the pans.  I also got all the clothes, our regular clothes, that have been collecting in baskets, hung up and put away, too.  I truly hate this job, and don't do it as often as I should.

Bryan's ride came to pick him up about 4:30, and as we walked into the back yard, he is crawling out from under the house, so that was very good timing.  He says we are still going to have to buy 2 or 3 rolls of insulation - phooey - but that's all.  He was able to save the rest and get it stapled up.  We make arrangements for me to pick him up Friday morning to get this done, and he will get the job finished then.  Living paycheck to paycheck is a pain in the ass!  But we'll get it done, and that's all that matters in the long run.
By this time, the towels were dry, so I got them folded and put away.  I'm glad this part is easy.
Ron gets home right before 6, and starts working on the lawnmower, so that he can mow the front yard before I do my Halloween decorating.  He is holding up the Halloween fairy!  How dare he!
I take a shower, change my clothes (putting on my NEW jeans), and go to my TOPS meeting, a little worried about weighing in tonight after my weekend, but when I weighed in, I had lost 4 pounds.  FOUR!!  WhooHoo!  What a relief!

I got home, and Ron had the leftover chili warmed up for our supper, which we ate while we watched the season premiere - finally! - of NCIS.  When that was over, we watched the premiere of NCIS: New Orleans, which stars Scott Bakula (of Quantum Leap fame) and it was kinda funny - when it went to commercial, the picture changed color on that character's face.  Ron said he thought that he 'leaped' somewhere.  We both laughed about that!  Then, when the show came back, it went from the color back to the show, and Ron says "Well, I guess he 'leaped' back."  Oh, that man...

I had put my lunch in MFP, but I didn't go back in and put my supper in.  I'm not sure why, I just didn't.  I just came here and wrote this, and now I'm gonna go to bed.  I started another book this afternoon, and it's calling me!
