A wonderful Bert and Teresa Day!

Thursday, September 11, 2014

First of all, I must, Must, MUST wish a very Happy Birthday to MY baby, John Schmidt (the first baby I got to help with, plus I got to help name him!) on this, his 50th birthday!  Yes, I said FIFTIETH.  I hope he had a great day!

I started the day before 8 this morning, with John texting me a picture of his cubicle that greeted him when he got to work this morning - his co-workers had decorated it up with "50" decorations!  That's great!  But then I couldn't get back to sleep, so I just read for a while - a long while - then got up, played on the pute, then took a shower, got dressed, and left to pick Bert up, so we could go get Teresa and go on the Golden Corral for our day together.
The day out has been in the making for so long, and it was so good that it finally all came together!  We got to Golden Corral at noon, and we didn't leave until almost 7:30.  Yes, 7:30 in the evening.  We stayed there all day!  It was great - we just talked and ate, and ate and talked, and then did it some more.  I suppose it wasn't very busy, and we didn't go up to the bar(s) too many times or anything, because no one ever said anything to us about never leaving.  We went through 3 different waiters/waitresses, and we left a very nice tip, in case they all had to share it, and oh, did we all enjoy it!  I sure hated being the one to break up the party, but man, did my back start aching and I finally couldn't sit there any longer.
We dropped Teresa off at her place, then Bert and I stopped at Kroger, so she could pick up some milk and a prescription, and drove through the drive-thru for a drink (I was thirsty!) or two, and then I dropped Bert off at her house, and I came on home.

The football game was already home by the time I got here, and I just sat in my recliner and started watching the game.  I sat there for an hour, then got up and got on the pute to finish out the night.
Ron also found out tonight that one of his good buddies - our age! - passed away last night.  He has been in the hospital up around Cleveland for around 3 months now, and just couldn't get better.  He had the same thing that his dad had - an abdominal aneurysm - and his twin is taking it hard.  RON is taking it hard!  It's not really surprising, but it is sad.  Very sad.

Nothing planned for tomorrow, until the evening, but I'm hoping someone can, or will, come and look at these pipes.  I'll be making goodies to take with us to where we're going, so no shopping, and we'll see what happens after that.  If not tomorrow, Saturday, I'm hoping!  This leak...
