9/7
I must start off today wishing a very Happy Anniversary to my son and daughter-in-law on this, their 13th anniversary! They got married in '01, so it's very easy to figure out their years: this year minus one!
Nothing much happening today. Getting up to the alarm at 9. Shower, dress, off to church. Out to eat - we went to Country Inn in Georgetown this week, to get the big breakfast that we both like so much.
Home for the big goings-on for the day: FOOTBALL!! Today starts the football season, and I am so ready! I park my big (but smaller) butt in my recliner, and there I stayed for most of the afternoon. During the afternoon games, of which there were only 2, I did get on the pute to help relieve a bit of the boredom that happens when commercials - the same commercials over and over - happen. I'm so glad I don't have that problem during the early games, and as the season goes on, I won't during the late games, either. There are usually 4 late games. I usually don't get on the pute til the night game - the only game on at that time.
I was a happy girl today, my Bengals won and the Patriots lost! WhooHoo! And, I am in the running for the football pool! Yay, me. I just have to win both games Monday night and get the points right. (Yeah, right...)
For my supper, Ron chunked me up 2 of the orange tomatoes that Corgan had given me for Grandparent's Day, and we did have some ice cream and finished off that carton.
Back to the good diet tomorrow!
9/8
I woke up this morning just after 10, and I read a little before getting up. When I got up, I went uptown and picked up the birthday present that Ron bought for me (the one he has no idea what it is, until I show him!), then went down to Walgreens for a prescription, Kroger for his tonic water and bananas, then I stopped at Bob Evans and had some lunch. I wanted their chicken salad, but since it's after Labor Day, they don't have it any more - boo! - so I finally settled on a Sunshine Skillet, with, of course, banana nut bread.
I came back home and just played on the pute for the rest of the afternoon. I figure I can play Happy Homemaker tomorrow, why start now? There's nothing planned for tomorrow - only Wednesday and Thursday - so I can do my bit tomorrow. That's good enough for me!
When Ron gets home, about quarter after 7, he asks me "Why aren't you watching the game?" Oh, hell! I didn't realize it was so late, and I didn't realize the game(s) were on already! Yes, there are TWO Monday Night Football games on tonight, one starting at 7, one at 10 or so. Wow! So, for a change, I am the one who turns on the TV!
We make hamburgers for supper, which we have with a can of pinto beans and chunked tomatoes. No carbs. Trying to do this right...
Not a happy camper right now...I lost the first game. Well, let me re-phrase. The team I said would win, lost. Yikes - I needed victories! I did okay on points, though, so that's good. We'll see how this second game goes...
