My big day out

Friday, September 5, 2014

I woke up this morning around 9:30, and laid in bed reading until around 11.  Since I was leaving to meet a friend uptown at noon, I played around a bit on the pute until time to get ready to leave.  I probably should have gotten dressed first, but you know me -- do things back asswards!
As I was leaving, Rosie texted me to find out where I was, because, of course, now I'm running late.  Not seriously late, just a few minutes, but my normal late.  Geez...

We had a wonderful lunch!  Just sat up at Frisch's and talked and talked.  She has had so much go on in her life, and I had no idea!  We laughed, we cried, and we caught up.  We finally left close to 3, her to do something with her granddaughter, and me to go do my shopping.
I had had a pork tenderloin sandwich and a bowl of veggie soup for my lunch, with 2 packs of crackers crushed in it (why do they have to give you sooooo much broth???  ugh!), and that gave me enough energy to do my WalMart Walk - and then some!  I really can't believe how much I used to eat, compared to what I eat now.  It's amazing.  I never would have believed it if anyone would have tried to tell me back in those days.

I did my shopping, making myself walk halfway decently up and down the aisles, not just meander, and I walked the whole store, too.  Not just the groceries and over to HBA, but also back to the clearance stuff, and up and down those aisles, too!  I think I had a very good walk!  I think I felt that I had to walk off those stupid crackers (you know, the ones that I didn't expect to have to eat...) that made my soup palatable.

I got home, got all the groceries carried in, except for a flat of cans (it about killed me to lift them up to be rung up, then into the car - twelve cans are pretty heavy, at least to me right now!)  So, I left them for someone else to carry in for me, and when Josh's family got here, my sister Jean carried them in for me.  Sweet!  I thought I'd have to wait until Ron got home!  So, the groceries were in and I got them put away, too.

Jean was having a problem with the camera on her phone, and I called Verizon to try to get that taken care of for her, but it ended up being something inside the phone itself, and it didn't get fixed.  Phooey!
After they left, Corgan and I played cards (31) in on my bed (my back needed to rest) until Ron got home, then they came out and played on the Wii, until I got up to make supper.  I found out that Corgan had already zapped himself some chicken noodle soup, and wasn't hungry, and Ron was looking forward to having a bologna sandwich, so I only had to find myself some supper.  Well!  I can do that!  I opened a can of tuna - a small one, that's all we have - added pickle relish, chopped onions, and Miracle Whip, and voila! There's my supper.  I ate the tuna just like that and had 2 string cheese to go along with it.  Potato chips would have tasted MUCH better, but...

Ron, Corgan, and I played cards (Tripoley) for about an hour, then it's TV time, and Corgan has found his 'Most Stupid' shows tonight.  I think it's time for me to go to bed!

We'll have Corgan and Jean for supper tomorrow, since Josh and Chelle are going to run away for their anniversary weekend.  They can't do too much, since they just got a car, but they will celebrate their 13th together, just the two of them, the way it should be.
I'm looking forward to a nice lazy Saturday, and I'm hoping for a good weigh-in in the morning!
