...and so the week starts. Yep.

Monday, September 22, 2014

Well, today starts out with last night.  Only because last night I blew my top - unfortunately, on Facebook.  Of all the things that had happened, I posted something that I thought was FUNNY and another family jumped my shit about it, and bam, I just couldn't take any more.
And, since it was Facebook, it was an ugly situation, and one that should not have happened, and, once again, it was all my fault.  But I fully admit to this - I blew my top in the wrong place and time this time, and I have no one to blame but myself, and sometimes the tea kettle must let the steam fly and the whistle blow and get it over with, and that's what happened.  I am very aware that it was not smart of me, and, hopefully, it won't happen again.  I keep trying - very much so - to keep such things inside my own house.
I refuse to be depressed, and I refuse to show a sad face to the world.  That's just not my style. I have seen - many times - how depression can and will affect people and it's not getting me!  I am an optimistic and positive person, and will remain so.  Always.  I demand it of myself.

Josh was dropping Corgan off this morning on his way to work, so, of course, I didn't sleep last night.  I suppose I was too worried that I wouldn't get up to unlock the front door to let Corgan in, or something.  Who knows?  But I didn't fall asleep, and after Ron left, even though I had my alarm set, I got up to unlock the door and turn on the outside light for Corgan, then laid back down with the light off until he got here.  After he got here, I let him decide if he wanted to go back to bed or stay up, then I went back to bed.  I let myself doze, but I didn't fall deep asleep.  I could still hear the A/C and the fan blowing, and the TV out in the living room, although I couldn't understand them.   I 'slept' until right around 10, as usual, then got up and let Corgan know that I was awake now.  Corgan did say that he had fallen asleep for an hour or so, but that was all, and he started coming in to talk to me during the commercials of his TV show.  I got up a little after 11, and Corgan and I played mini-golf on the Wii - I haven't played since I fell! - then he wanted to make macaroni and cheese for our lunch, so I gave him pointers.  He did a very good job!
After our lunch, we went for a walk (he rode his bike) down Hoover Road.  Along the way, I took pictures of the wildflowers I saw, just because there were so many different colors and varieties.  They weren't the greatest of pictures because I had to take them with my cell phone, but they were okay.  Better than nothing!  I walked for a half mile before turning around because neither of us wanted to take a chance of me 'pushing' my back and not being able to get back to the house.
When we got back to the house, Bryan was pulling in to get back under the house to put the insulation back up.  He offered to get that done for us, after he had done all that work under the house last Saturday, and we told him he didn't have to, but he said it gave him something to do, so we are letting him (mostly because Ron really doesn't have the time) because it will really help us out.  Ron says we are going to pay him something - SOMEthing - this time!
Corgan and I went down to the birch tree down by the natural creekline cutting through our back yard to cut some dead branches out of/off of it.  The winter did a number on this tree, and it's another project Ron hasn't been able to get to, and it's better that these dead branches are off the tree and we can use the wood for the fire pit, anyway!  Corgan loves to be able to use Grandpa's tools and I thought this would keep him busy for a little while, and it would give me a chance to see if I could be a little useful, too, even if all I could do would be stack the branches.  But Corgan found me a saw, too, so I got to break branches off of the tree also.  We had great fun doing this job!  The jerk as the branches broke free from the tree didn't feel so great (on my back) but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and I guess that's a good thing!  I urged Corgan to pick up ALL the sticks for kindling after we dragged up the branches, but he insisted they could "run over" these little ones with the mower so he didn't have to.  I wasn't up to arguing with him, and just told him that if Grandpa told him that he wanted the kindling picked up, the kindling was going to get picked up and left it at that.

Josh stopped to pick Corgan up on his way home from work.  I had him get the Halloween barrel out of the shed, so I'll be able to start decorating for Halloween and Fall, starting tomorrow, but I can't lug the barrel out of hiding by myself, and - once again - Ron hasn't be able to.  Josh asked me if I'd heard from Jean (she had dental work today, which is why I had Corgan) but I hadn't - I didn't even know for sure what time her appointment was - so they loaded up some cans and took off for home.

Bryan was still under the house when Ron got home a little after 7.  Ron went out to talk to and/or help him, then Ron ran him home.  I had made a pan of cabbage for Ron's supper, and when Ron got back, he got to eat his supper.  I zapped myself chicken noodle soup, and had a nut bar for dessert.

When I put my exercise and food in MFP, I had plenty of calories left, so I put in for a popcorn and milk snack, too, to eat while watching football, and MFP still hollered at me.  I am hoping that having this snack this late at night is gonna make my night go okay, with no sugar low!  I am hoping.

Nothing planned for tomorrow except playing Happy Homemaker, since I didn't get to do that today.  Going for a walk and cutting branches off of trees is NOT my normal Monday!
