Happy Veteran's Day! Thank you to those who have served and made this country the great country that it is. It is on your backs that this country has grown, not the politician's.
I woke early this morning, even before the alarm went off at 8:00. I'm not sure why, but I did. I did read just a little, and played my games on my tablet, then got up. I was glad that I had taken my shower last night, cause it was a little chilly this morning! I had to turn the thermostat up in the living room while I was getting dressed. I left around 9:15, to make sure that I would get to the church by 9:30. I wanted to be there early, so that I could help as much as I could.
The visitation and the funeral went on, and they were very emotional, but no more than any other funeral of a good friend. It was hard - very hard.
Afterward, my friends Harry, Donna, John, and Beverly and I went to lunch. Little did I know, though, that they had all decided to go to Olive Garden! Oh, my, that was not expected, but I went with them anyway. I had nothing to look forward to at home except housework, so - why not? Harry and Donna were celebrating both Harry's birthday and the anniversary of their first real date, and John and Beverly were celebrating the anniversary of their first date, also. I guess I was just celebrating being with my friends! What better to celebrate?
We had a wonderful time, and I didn't get home until 3:30, which was fine - it gave me just enough time to do my exercises, then play on the pute for a bit until Ron texted me.
When I walked out to meet Ron, I bundled up because the wind had kicked up. I wore his fleece jacket under my jacket, and I was toasty warm. I took my walking stick, but only used it while on 133. Once I got onto Hoover Road, I hoisted it over my shoulder and just walked without it. I am trying to get used to not using it in 'public.' In rough or uncertain terrain, I will certainly use it, but if it's level ground, I'm going to try not using it. It's been 7 months, so......
We got back home, and just hung out here until I had to leave for my TOPS meeting, which wasn't really very long at all. When I weighed in, I am glad - so happy - to report that I lost weight this week! Only .2 of a pound, but a loss nevertheless. I was doing a happy dance inside!
When I got home, Ron had not made any kind of supper, so I zapped us each a bowl of soup. Him, I made broccoli with cheese, and myself, I made chicken noodle, and that was supper.
We watched NCIS and NCIS: NO while eating, and now here I am on the pute. WhooHoo! (you know, they really need a 'sarcastic' button on here...)
Tomorrow, I get to play Happy Homemaker. Yay. (yes, sarcastic again.)
