I woke up early this morning. Not a surprise, right, since we just changed the clocks back an hour, and that's how early I woke up. Yep, it was about 8:30, so I just got in some extra reading before getting up, so all was good.
When I got up, I jumped right into Happy Homemaker mode, getting a load of laundry (regular clothes) and did the dishes that were sitting over the weekend. I also went out to the freezer and got a package of chicken breasts and got them into the crockpot with a can of cream of chicken soup, a can of cream of mushroom soup, a can of chicken broth, and an envelope of Italian seasonings. That will be supper.
After I was done with the dishes, I pulled the Nail Wraps - my pretty Peacock Feathers - off of my fingernails. I have been wearing them for over 5 weeks, and my nails have grown out so much that the wraps are about halfway up and are starting to look silly, so I thought it was probably time for them to come off. I wasn't happy with that decision, but it is what it is. The Wraps still looked good, they just looked silly halfway up my fingernails!
Somewhere along in there, I had my lunch - a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant - and played on the pute for a bit. I didn't stop for very long, as I still had a lot that I wanted to get done today.
I got all of the Halloween decorations down and put away in their tins, and got all the Thanksgiving decorations up and out. I had to wait for Ron to get home to finish hanging the garlands, but I got everything else done by myself. There were a few casualties that came out of the Thanksgiving tins, but I guess that's to be expected. What I didn't expect was to be missing an entire body of a pilgrim man. His head was there, but no body in none of the tins. I'm pretty certain that I didn't put him away like that, but I have no idea what the hell happened to his body. Maybe all the turkeys in the tin(s) got hungry. HaHaHa. Ron had got the outside switched around yesterday, so now the house is all ready for the next holiday, inside and out.
I got my exercises done a little earlier than I usually do them, but I figured it doesn't really matter what time I do them, just that I do them. I was kinda surprised at the way time seemed to not be moving today, anyway. As I was getting things done, I expected it to be later than it was, and that was throwing me off-kilter.
Now I got to a fun part of the day - not that the decorating wasn't fun - I got my fancy cookbooks out and looked through them all, looking for things to make for our Bake Sale this weekend up at church. It is our Christmas Craft Show, and I like to make things - different things - for the Bake Sale. I found a couple ideas, and made out a grocery list of things to get when I go down the road tomorrow. The no-bake cookies - the ones that are left - are finally starting to set, so I guess Ron and I had best leave them alone now and I'll take those up, too. It still irks me that they didn't set. I'd like to know what cause(s)(d) that (this time). It was weird.
I got dressed at 4:30, so when Ron texted, all I'd have to do is put on my gym shoes. I then just played on the pute waiting to hear from him. At quarter til 6, I went ahead and put on my gym shoes, and I had no sooner got done when my phone went off. Yep, it was him! Good timing! I got my jacket on and took off walking to meet him. With the time change, it was starting to turn dark and I could see the headlights coming down Hoover Road before I heard his truck. Usually I hear the truck first - his truck is loud - and I know where to stop walking so he will see me. I don't want him to try to stop while coming around those curves - that would be kinda dangerous. I also try to look to see if something is coming up behind me (there usually isn't) before walking around the curves - IF I get that far.
When we got back home, he took his shower while I got our suppers dished up. I put slices of bread on our plates, then dished up the chicken breasts onto the bread, then spooned the 'gravy,' as it was (as it were?), over top of everything. It was very tasty, if I say so myself. Then we watched Quantum Leap as we ate until time for football.
Tomorrow should be an interesting day. First off, I am going to a meeting with Donna's daughter (to set up the Memorial Mass for my friend Donna who passed away last week) and our priest up at the church, then down to Amelia to pick up prescriptions and groceries, then home to bake. At least, I am hoping I feel like baking.
And, since I didn't do it today, I might start packing for my Gatlinburg vacation. It's only 2 weeks from Wednesday! I might. I don't know - I don't have as many clothes (pants, anyway) that fit me right now and I do need things to wear for these 2 weeks. HA.
