11/14
Nothing much going on today, which was a good thing, because when I woke up this morning, I felt the awful feeling of my sinuses dripping/running (whatever you want to call it) down the back of my throat. Ugh. Nooooooo! Not now! I have a zillion and one things to do, getting ready to leave for Gatlinburg on Wednesday, and breathing is gonna be pretty important! shitshitshit
I got up, did my Happy Homemaker stint - dishes and laundry - as well as just generally picking up around here. I also got laundry that was still in baskets put away, which is a big deal to me. It doesn't happen all that often. Ha! While doing all of this, I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich for my lunch, and that sustained me until supper.
Ron didn't text me when he was on his way, so I didn't get to walk out to meet him, either. Jean had taken Chelle and Corgan up to Georgetown to meet Ron, and Chelle was driving the truck, so Ron was "too busy" pointing out all the spots for her to watch out for deer to text me. Men! What am I gonna do with him? Josh was here, having stopped after work, and then he and Chelle left, leaving we three here. Corgan made himself supper - he ended up having THREE (3) cans/bowls of chicken noodle soup - and Ron made us our little Spam casserole (Spam cubes in mac-n-cheese). Corgan then watched his Most Stupid shows, and I played on the pute.
I informed the guys that we were going shopping tomorrow, and they moaned and groaned a lot, but had no argument, since it's cold now.
11/15
When I got up this morning (of course I was the last one up), I did my weigh-in, and Glory Be - I have lost a pound and a half! Hip, hip, hooray! Finally! I am definitely doing a happy dance today. Although I still have a way to go to even get back to where I was, I feel much better seeing that scale going down. I have hope again!
After a dose of DayQuil for me, we then got our day going. I had to drive, of course, which is no big deal, and we plotted out our day. We stopped at WalMart for gasoline first, then just hit the drive-thru at Walgreen's for a prescription, then went to eat. We had decided to go to Cracker Barrel for a change. Corgan and I both wanted chicken-n-dumplings. Even though it was a long drive just to eat, it was sooooo good, even with a little bit of a wait. Ron got his pork chops, and we got our chicken-n-dumplings. Yum.
Then we went shopping, which the guys just love. I only needed a few things to finish up Thanksgiving - all but the perishables - then I had to buy the stuff Ron and I need for our colonoscopies the Monday of Thanksgiving week, as well as looking for Christmas ideas. We were also going to look for Corgan a long-sleeved shirt, since it was so cold, but he was being particular about it, and I wasn't going to pay that much for something he's only going to wear when I make him. (He wanted some fancy Starter or Reebok or some such). He only wants to wear T-Shirts, and his parents let him (he's inside, so it's okay), so I can talk until I'm blue in the face and it won't matter. I surrender. We'd rather he doesn't catch pneumonia on our watch, but - our hands are tied.
We finished the shopping, and went to leave, and I remembered something that I had to get at Walgreen's, so back there we went. Then, we had to stop at IGA, but I drove right by it, and Ron didn't remember til we were almost home! Dorks! I turned around in our driveway, and went back uptown, and we went to IGA and finished the shopping we needed to do.
I took another dose of DayQuil when we got home. That stuff, as well as its partner, NyQuil, keep me going at times like this!
We had pork chops - good pork chops - for supper, along with rice-a-roni, mixed veggies, and pork & beans. There weren't many leftovers! Then Josh, Chelle, Jean, Corgan, and I played a board game (Loaded Questions) while Ron played his DS in the living room. He never plays games with us, he's an old party pooper. After the game, which Josh won, they packed up and left.
It was a nice evening.
11/16
Ah, Sunday! Church, lunch, football.
And that's what today was. After church, we went up to Georgetown, where we both had the big breakfast that we both like. Ron gave me his bacon, and I gave him one of my sausage patties. He's decided that the bacon has more sodium, and tries not to eat so much of it (silly man). Then, home for football. I did miss kickoff, but saw the first play of the game.
My guys looked really good today, and we won! Yay for us! I figured we'd do okay, since we were back at 1:00 and things could be back to normal....
Ron and I each had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for our supper. His was creamy peanut butter with grape jelly, while mine was crunchy peanut butter with orange marmalade. Yeah, we're weird like that.
I hear the NyQuil and my bed calling me. I hope I can sleep good. I hope.
I have a lot to do tomorrow, getting things finished up before leaving. I am so ready to go away for a bit and forget things.
