The word for the day: Yikes

Election Day!  Did YOU vote?

The day started out with me having to get up, with the alarm's help, and go down the road to pick up my friend to take her up to church to have a meeting to set up her mom's funeral.  Luckily, it's going to be a Funeral Mass, not just a Memorial Mass.  Our parish family is wonderful!  The meeting went much better than I had thought - had dreaded - it probably would, and that was a very good thing.  It was still a very sad, a very stressful, thing to go through.

Afterward, Jeanne and I went down to Amelia, where I had to visit the "Wal"s - both Walgreens and WalMart.  I picked up my prescriptions at the drive-through at Walgreens, then we went to lunch at Bob Evans, then we went to WalMart.  I was glad she decided to come with me, because I know she hasn't eaten correctly since her mom passed away, and this way I knew that she got a decent meal (at least this one) for a change.  I also got some company instead of sitting there reading a book all by my lonesome, not that I mind doing that.
We got our respective shopping done, then I dropped her back off at her place, and I came on home, after stopping to vote.

I started working on the goodies I am making for the Bake Sale at the church this weekend, and the afternoon flew by.  I totally forgot about doing my exercises, but with all the walking I got in, I think I'll be okay.  I remembered to wear my pedometer (okay, it was in my pocket...) and I walked over a mile! That's a lot of steps!
My friend Bert, who is on vacation in Florida, called me and we talked for about an hour, too, so that's another reason exercise flew out of my mind.  But - I got a good start on the goodies, and I was glad for that.  It gives me that much less to do tomorrow and Thursday.

Josh stopped to give us our football slips for the week, and I gave him the things I had gathered for them.  I forgot - dammit - to show him the problems I have been having with my mouse.  When I remembered, I had some fun texting him and teasing him.  Isn't that what moms are supposed to do?
I got a call from Ron a little after 5 - he was still OUT delivering a box somewhere in Lake Lorelei.  It was going to way after dark before he would get home, so I was not going to be able to walk out to meet him, because of my TOPS meeting.  Phooey.
Speaking of the TOPS meeting, we were meeting at the library tonight for just a weigh-in, instead of having a real meeting, because of the elections.  They hold elections in the building where we usually have our meetings, so we are/were kinda booted out.  When I got there, and weighed in, it was a disaster.  According to their scale - and I'm hoping it's because it was in a different place - I have gained FIVE pounds.  Yes, five!  Youch!  I go back home totally disgusted with myself.
Ron is home when I get there, and we decide to have cheese weenies and pork-n-beans for supper, which we ate while watching Quantum Leap.  (We usually watch NCIS et al on Tuesdays, but tonight's shows were reruns.)

Tomorrow I plan on working on these goodies some more, then I have an Altar Society meeting to go to tomorrow night.  Busy, busy, busy this first full week of the month...
