I'm baa-aaack!! Did you miss me? Yeah, I didn't think so. Haha.
11/19 - 11/23
My little trip to Gatlinburg. GGG - Girl's Gatlinburg Getaway. A total of 8 women, together in a cabin in the mountains. Fun, fun, and more good fun. Christmas movies playing constantly, or Christmas music playing. Shopping every day, if you chose. Jammie day, if not. Dixie Stampede - the Christmas show, of course - as our big "night out." Playing cards, games like Yahtzee or Left-Right-Center, or playing on electronics in the evenings. So relaxing....
What happens in Gatlinburg stays in Gatlinburg, though. Sorry.
11/24
When Ron and I say "together," we mean it. Today, we had colonoscopies together. Well, not exactly together, but both today, scheduled 15 minutes apart. My sister Jean was our driver home, cause we couldn't be driver for each other, darn it! (It was a lot of fun last night, doing the prep after I got home - and, yes, we only have one bathroom. It wasn't so bad, really. Just a couple of near-misses, that's all.) As soon as we left Anderson Mercy, we headed straight to IHOP, cause Ron and I were hungry. Hun-GRY. We each had a small breakfast, then Jean drove us home, and we crashed for the rest of the day.
When we got up, we had a small supper. I don't remember what Ron ate, but I had a can of chicken salad. Then I watched football. There were 2 games on, one started at 7, the other at 8:30. I actually stayed up and watched the whole game instead of going to bed at halftime.

Today, Ron and I each had doctor appointments. Me for my 6-month heart check-up, Ron for his DOT physical, which he has to pass to be able to drive. This time last year was when we found out about his high blood pressure.
Off we went to my appointment first. Back down to Anderson Mercy we go! To the left (in the parking lot) this time, back to the doctor's offices, and I get signed in and all. It was kinda funny - I froze their computers up! I could only shake my head. I'm an innocent bystander!
Getting called back, I get weighed (no surprise there), my blood pressure taken (it was 98/62!!), and all that. My pulse was 65, so I joked with the nurse that my heart was beating, but I had no blood pressure. They didn't seem all that worried over the low BP, but I was. When the doctor came in, he did all the listening, poking, and prodding as usual, then at the end, he asked the nurse what my BP was. I told him as she was looking it up, and his first reaction was, "Oh, that's a little low." Then he looked at my chart and muttered, "You're not taking much medicine," which I assumed meant specifically for BP, because I sure take plenty of medicine, let me tell you. He muttered to himself some more, then, waving his hands over the chart, told me, "We'll just leave all the medicine as it is. You can come back in 7 months this time." And that was that.
Makes me wonder how low BP has to go before they start really worrying.
Ron's appointment was in Eastgate, so we then went to O'Charley's for our lunch. He hadn't been there in forever, and he really enjoyed it. He got a big ol' salad, and I got the half BLT sandwich and potato soup combo.
We got to his appointment, and - hip, hip, hooray - he passed! The DOT physical says that to pass, your BP must be under 140/90. His was 140/86. So, he passed by the skin of his teeth, but he passed, thank God!
So, now comes the dilemma - is what we are doing to lower HIS BP hurting MINE? And how do we raise mine up a little? The only thing I can think of is for me to salt my food like crazy. We eat mostly the same things! It's very odd...
On our way home, we stopped at WalMart and bought the rest of Thanksgiving Dinner. He just looooves to shop <yes, that was sarcastic font> so it was a lot of fun to walk through the store with him.
After that, we stopped at Bert's so that Ron could get her gas cap off of her car. She wants to drive her own car, can you imagine that? It takes him maybe - maybe - 2 minutes. She 'paid' him with devilled eggs that she had made for him. (Gee, thanks, Bert...)
Our next stop was Subway, to pick up sandwiches for our supper tonight. We haven't had Subway in a long, long time, and they just sounded good.
We got home, got the groceries carried in, and I had a sugar low, so I ate a couple of his devilled eggs and a few snack crackers. Then I was off to my TOPS meeting. I wasn't really looking forward to this meeting, because of my little vacation, but it is what it is. Luckily, happily, I have lost almost a half pound - .4 to be exact - so I guess the hammer will drop next week, unless I get off my lazy ass and not let that happen. Yep. Happy Thanksgiving. Right.
I get back home and enjoy every single bite of my seafood and crab sandwich and Ruffles. Every. Single. Bite.
And that's been my week. Hope yours has been just as good for you.
Nothing planned for tomorrow, except getting the house ready for Thursday and doing some food prep. A lovely stay-at-home day with my hubby!
