11/7

Up early, to get up to the Craft Show by 9.  Ugh.  I sure am not used to this any more!  But I made it and did my duty, sitting at the Raffle table mostly, getting up and walking around every now and then, just to keep my back from getting too stiff (or something like that).  I had the wonderful food from the kitchen for my lunch - a steakburger with cheese, a bowl of (homemade) potato soup, and chili cheese fries.  Lots of carbs, but I needed them today.
Ron and Corgan came up to have supper with me, and I had the exact same thing for my supper - except Ron paid for my supper, and I had paid for my lunch.  (Yeah, I'm a comedian)

My feet and ankles were swollen, and my back hurt SO bad when I got home.  I had Ron put one of those hot patches on my back, and I went to bed, setting the alarm to "do it all again tomorrow."  Luckily, though, the Craft Show doesn't last quite as long 'tomorrow.'

11/8

I had Corgan put a new hot patch on my back, then I was back up at church at 9 again.  I flexed my treasurer's muscle and had all the monies counted from Friday, so we knew what each table (Bake Sale, Raffle, 50-cent Grab Bag, and Kitchen) had done for each day.  I want to write up a comprehensive report for the Altar Society, as well as the rest of the parish, about this year's Show.  The church's accountant, who has been doing this job (and not dividing the days) was not happy about it, but - what can I say?  It is my job, as treasurer, is it not?

I once again spent the day at the Raffle table, walking a lot more than I had the day before.  I had the same thing for lunch, only with plain fries, not chili cheese fries - the kitchen was out of chili.
At the end of the day, I helped with the drawing of the prizes of Raffle, and then called people to come and get their prizes.  I also stayed until 5, waiting for people to show up to pick up their prizes.  I brought a few prizes home with me, to be delivered at church on Sunday morning, or down in Amelia afterward.
I went to the store when I left the church, and picked up some hamburger (and other meat) at IGA in the 5/$20 meats, then came home.  Ron made Ron burgers for supper, Josh & Chelle had brought potato salad and macaroni salad for our sides, and I had bought a huge bag of Ruffles, too, so that was our supper.  We sat around the kitchen table and talked for a while, then they left, and I went to bed.

11/9

Sunday.  Yay!  A day of rest!
Yeah, right.  To start with, I met with the church's accountant to count all the monies from the entire Craft Show.  He still wasn't entirely happy about me wanting to do it, but he had accepted it.  He had even made me a copy of his counting sheet - I thought that was very nice of him! - and we each counted each box (from each table), then compared our numbers, and if they didn't match, recounted and found out where the error was.  It ended up being a very smooth operation.
Then, I went to church and had to deliver the prizes and all that after Mass was over, which took a good bit of time, because you know I talk and talk to people.  But that's how I am...
We finally got going down the road, where I knew another person was waiting for me at Campbell's Barn.  That was where we had arranged to meet, so that was fine.  I just didn't expect to be quite so late getting out of church.  She called to let me know she was there, and I told her that we were on our way, so everything was okay.
Ron got his fried chicken dinner with green beans and sweet potato fries, and I had a country fried steak dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans.  We had the time to wait for his chicken to cook (it takes at least 20 minutes!), so he was looking forward to it.
As we were eating, the second lady came in to pick up her prize, and she stayed to eat lunch with us!  How cool is that?  She was very nice, and we had very interesting conversations.  When other people from church came in to the Barn and talked to me, she just talked to Ron for that little bit.  She was really a very interesting, a very easy-going person.
When we left the Barn, we went down to Walgreen's to pick up our prescriptions for the week, then to Kroger to get his tonic water, and as we came back to Bethel, we stopped at WalMart to put gasoline in my car.  Whew!
We finally got home and I could collapse into my recliner and watch football all day.  My back appreciated it very, very much.

I made Ron veggie soup (brought home from the Craft Show) for his supper, and I made myself a can/bowl of chicken noodle soup.  Yep, we splurged.  Haha.

Finally, once the night game started, I got up and came over and got on the pute, and now I am ready to go to bed.  I think my back will thank me.  I think I hear sleeping pills calling me, too.

Tomorrow, I have a BUNCH of running to do.  All the stuff I didn't get done over the weekend; even though Ron and I got some of it done today, there is still more to do.  A woman's work is never done, ya know!
