Happy Thanksgiving! I hope yours was as fun and as blessed as mine was!
11/27
The day started early - I had the alarm set for 8, so that we could get up and get things moving before going to church at 9.
When we got back from church, we got the turkey into the oven and started in with the peeling of potatoes and all the other cooking stuff that needed to be done in the next 4 or so hours. I turned the stereo in the kitchen off (the station I have it on had started playing Christmas music) and turned the TV on to watch and listen to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I knew Santa showed up at noon, so that was a good 'timer.' We usually eat at noon, but had to put it back a little this year, because Chelle had to work until 11:30. That was no big deal, even if it was a little odd. Josh let me know when they were on their way, too, so I had things ready. I had the snack table ready and I had the table set for dinner. I just had to wait for them to get here, so I could get all of dinner onto the table nice and hot.
And I did it! I got dinner on the table just after 1. We all gorged and had a great time together.
When dinner was over, Thanksgiving was considered over, as usual. They all went outside to take down the Pilgrims and put up the Christmas lights - which includes our Nativity scene and a snowman out by the mailbox - around the house. I stayed in to not only do up some of the dishes, but to change the inside of the house from Thanksgiving/Fall to Christmas, too. I got the bathroom changed over, and started in on the living room, but that takes awhile, so I didn't get all done.
They came in just before 5, and we had our dessert - peach and pecan pies, and a pumpkin roll that Chelle had made, all topped with Cool Whip, of course. Then they went home, leaving Corgan here for his spend-the-night night on Thursday this week instead of Friday.

I woke up at 8:30 this morning, and by 10, I was up and re-heating all the leftovers. I wasn't sure what time to expect them to show up - I just knew "lunchtime" - and I wanted the food to be ready, because the plans for the day were to have a lunch of leftovers here, then go get their Christmas tree, take it to their house, and be there for the rest of the day, which would include supper.
When we were done eating lunch, I packed up the little bit (mostly veggies) that was left to take with us to help with supper, and then we all dressed in our warm clothes and off we went.
I did pretty darn good walking through the tree farm, but they found their tree the quickest they've ever found their tree! It was a good rousing walk, too, and it was good for me. We took lots of pictures all around the tree farm and the little shop, recording our fun day.
Getting to their house, I parked my ass on the couch and stayed out of the way while Ron helped Josh get the tree in the house, and then Chelle was making supper. I'm no dummy!
Chelle made pork chops, twice baked (mashed with cheese on top) potatoes, and other odds and ends, as well as the veggies. It was a very good meal! We chowed down, almost as much as yesterday.
After that, we watched the Grinch, then Ron and I came home.
It's been a long, long couple of days, but they have been very satisfying days.
I'm almost afraid to get on the Wii in the morning.
